The Westboro Baptist Church, in response to Jason Collins coming out as gay this week, says it plans to protest a couple of NBA Playoff games.

Because, apparently, God hates the NBA.

Or #GodH8sTheNBA in Twitter parlance.

The WBC concludes this, of course, because they really do not like homosexuality, and Collins just became the first openly gay player in major U.S. team sports.

Therefore, they will picket Wednesday’s Game 5 between Oklahoma City and Houston, and tomorrow night’s Game 6 between Chicago and Brooklyn.

They will square off against the Minnesota Wild in the first round of the playoffs and they are primed and ready because they've had a lot of sex this season and...

Tim Tebow has been offered a job with the Omaha Beef, although the Nebraska indoor football team makes no guarantees about him starting.

Hey, you gotta see how he looks in workouts first.

Just the same, they're willing to open their checkbook for the recently-released New York Jet. If Tim signs, he can expect a sweet $75 per game.

Beef assistant general manager Andrew Mather said Tuesday he doesn't expect to hear back from Tebow's agent, but he thought it was worth asking.

Carolyn Moos, Jason Collins' ex-fiancee, says she just found out the NBA player is gay along with the rest of the U.S., despite their long-term relationship.

Moos and Collins were engaged when he broke up with her in 2009.

They had been together for eight years prior to that, and she says she never once suspected Jason Collins was gay, so this week's news is shocking.

At the time of their split, Carolyn says Jason gave a bunch of reasons that never truly made sense to her, and that she was always confused ... until now.

Days before his big announcement in Sports Illustrated, Collins came out to Moos, admitting that his homosexuality was the real reason he dumped her.

Tim Tebow has been offered a gig in the wake of his release by the New York Jets.

That's the good news for TT. The bad news? It's with the Lingerie Football League.

And not even as a QB. They want him as a coach! The guy really cannot throw.

The Legends Football League - formerly the Lingerie Football League apparently - has extended an offer to the man they hope will become its National Quarterbacks Coach.

Chad Johnson. Homeless man. Beer. Friendship. Twitter. 

Who knew those five things went together so well ...

The out-of-work NFL star, in a spontaneous act of generosity, spent Saturday with a homeless man named Robert after making his acquaintance on the street.

Robert asked the 35-year-old athlete a beer, at which point Chad made his day by buying him a 24-pack - plus a pack of Newports for good measure.

The former Ochocinco said they were both unemployed so they may as well hang out, and so they did. He took "Porkchop" under his wing for the weekend.

Johnson, who recently split from Evelyn Lozada and may be in need of companionship, also took him to Urban Outfitters, and ended the evening in a club.

Best friends forever.

Athletes, politicians and fans alike generally and vocally offered support to Jason Collins Monday following the NBA player's decision to come out as gay.

Reactions weren't entirely positive, however.

In addition to NFL player Mike Wallace's insensitivity, ESPN reporter Chris Broussard played the Bible card and stated a dismissive take on homosexuality.

"I'm a Christian," he said on Outside the Lines, echoing remarks he has made before on the topic. "I don't agree with homosexuality. I think it's a sin."

But Dwight Howard was not around to see the conclusion: he was ejected in the third quarter for cursing at a referee.

NBA player Jason Collins came out as gay in Sports Illustrated today, igniting a flurry of discussion and receiving an outpouring of support online.

"I didn't set out to be the first openly gay athlete playing in a major American team sport. But since I am, I'm happy to start the conversation," he said.

And start it he did. With a few exceptions (Mike Wallace), the vast majority of reactions to Jason Collins' coming out have been positive.
