Warning: The following video is graphic in nature.

In the eighth inning of his team's victory over the Mets last night, Atlanta Braves pitcher Tim Hudson covered first base on a ground ball hit by Eric Young.

Unfortunately, Young's foot came down on the veteran's ankle toward the end of the play, causing Hudson to fall to the ground in obvious, severe pain.

Replays depict just how gruesome an injury the 15-year star suffered, as the bottom of his leg is twisted at a 90-degree angle.

Atlanta has since announced Hudson will undergo surgery and it seems very unlikely he will pitch again this season.

Aaron Hernandez was back in court today for a probable cause hearing, during which prosecutors typically try to to establish that he committed a crime.

The hearing is meant to give prosecutors a chance to show that there's enough evidence to bring the case before a grand jury for a formal indictment.

In this case, that appears like a foregone conclusion ... eventually.

Once that happens, a pretrial date will be set, but today didn't quite go as expected. The prosecutors requested a continuance, asking for more time.

Hernandez's lawyer objected, asking for the case to be dismissed because prosecutors were dragging their feet in compiling and presenting evidence.

I once had a hole in one. Sadly, I was playing solo and I didn't have the benefit of social media to witness it.

The Newsroom star Jeff Daniels does not have this problem. He not only had two witnesses in person but he has 116,000 followers on Twitter.

Daniels posted the jubilant picture of himself along with the tweet, "133 yds. 8 iron into a stiff wind. Power Draw. No roll up and trickle in; a slam dunk."

"Two witnesses. #9 @ Polo Fields."

Take note, Major League Baseball.

While you are suspending Ryan Braun for 65 games - and possibly Alex Rodriguez for the rest of his life - South Korean baseball is thriving.

There's no black cloud from any steroid era, no investigations into any anti-aging clinics. There's simply hitting, running... and mascot dancing.

Yes, the following video features a horde of costumed creatures competing in an on-field dance-off. Which deserves to take home the crown? Watch now!

Could Alex Rodriguez be facing a lifetime ban from Major League Baseball?

According to a new CBS News report, that possibility is not that far fetched.

After Ryan Braun was suspended after reaching a deal with MLB, admitting PED use and accepted his 65-game suspension, some thought A-Rod would follow suit.

That is apparently not the case.

Alex Rodriguez's name has been linked to the current Biogenesis performance-enhancing drug scandal, but the Yankees star is not looking to settle.

As a result, Rodriguez is reportedly facing the possibility of a lifetime ban.

Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade has finally settled his divorce from Siohvaughn Funches, reaching a financial settlement with her six years after they split.

Dwyane Wade, Siohvaughn Funches

Wade's attorney said that the athlete "provided a very generous settlement" to Siohvaughn Funches Wade, who he filed for divorce from in 2007.

The NBA star was awarded sole custody of their two sons in 2011.

The divorce was brutal, to put it mildly. Siohvaughn was even arrested at one point last year for allegedly attempting to abduct their children.

She subsequently accused Dwyane of leaving her homeless and all sorts of bad parenting, like depriving the kids of life-saving medication.

Ryan Braun, the 2011 MVP of the National League, has been suspended without pay for the duration of the 2013 season as a result of failing the sport's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

Braun did not contest the suspension and admitted to taking performance enhancing drugs in a statement.

"As I have acknowledged in the past, I am not perfect," Braun said in the statement. "I realize now that I have made some mistakes. I am willing to accept the consequences of those actions. This situation has taken a toll on me and my entire family, and it is has been a distraction to my teammates and the Brewers organization."

While a pamphlet of sex alternatives from an Australian Christian school was amusing, this story of a coach taking an interest in her players' lives well beyond that of a normal coach is far from it.

Beckie Francis

Beckie Francis was fired from her position of women's basketball coach at University of Oakland on June 12th. Didn't hear about it? Well at the time it wasn't a big story.

The school joined Division I in 1997 but hasn't been what one might call an athletic powerhouse, so the news didn't make "the news."

Until last night.

Phil Mickelson won the 2013 British Open Championship with a superb final round as the other contenders, including Tiger Woods, faded from contention.

Mickelson captured the famed Claret Jug for the first time and his fifth major championship with a 5-under 66 Sunday, tied for the best round of the week.

The left-hander birdied four of the last six holes to win by three shots and emphatically erase the memory of this year's U.S. Open heartbreak.

"This is such an accomplishment for me," Mickelson said. "I never knew if I'd be able to develop the game and the shots to play links golf effectively."

"To play what is arguably the best round of my career, to putt the way I putted, to shoot the round of my life, it just feels amazing to win the Claret Jug."

Mickelson, 43, has eight runner-up finishes in golf's four major tournaments, but has now won three of the four in his remarkable Hall of Fame career.

Congrats, Phil!
