Idiot baseball great Manny Ramirez will not be prosecuted for misdemeanor battery for allegedly slapping around his wife Juliana in their Florida home last year.

A rep for the State Attorney's Office explained as such:

"The state has dropped the charge because the victim was uncooperative ... She avoided being served with a state subpoena and is believed to be out of state."

So Julianna camped out and refused to pursue it.

Man Ram

Manny was arrested on September 12 after she called police and claimed Ramirez had slapped her in the face with an open hand, causing her to hit her head.

The two-time World Series champ maintained he had merely grabbed Juliana by the shoulders in an argument and "shrugged her" ... whatever that means.

Aging, overrated New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez is under investigation for participating in Hollywood’s underground poker ring, according to reports.

Major League Baseball is looking into a convicted fraudster’s stunning confession that the oft-controversial Yankees slugger played in high-stakes tournaments.

Illegal ones that included celebrities Tobey Maguire, Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, and a jailed hedge fund manager, Bradley Ruderman.

Nose Picking By Alex Rodriguez

Ruderman embezzled $25 million of his clients’ money and used $5.2 million of it to pay off gambling debts, admitting that he played against Rodriguez, 36.

Maguire has been sued to recover part of the winnings.

“Like all situations, when we receive new information we investigate,” said a spokesperson for MLB, which interviewed, but did not punish A-Rod, once before.

The crooked Ponzi Scheme mastermind used his clients’ millions to pay off star players including Tobey Maguire and The Notebook director Nick Cassavetes.

Multiple eyewitnesses at the games confirmed that Rodriguez was involved, but say his participation was limited. The baseball great has not commented.

In honor of Aerosmith announcing a new tour and album, allow us to say the following about Charles Barkley in his new campaign for Weight Watchers:

Dude looks like a lady!

Charles Barkley Weight Watchers Ad

The Round Mound of Rebound shows off a couple other round mounds in the first photo released on behalf of a commercial that will start airing on April 8.

“Diet is not a man’s word because we don’t like to diet - we like to eat,” said Barkley in a press release for the company, which signed him as a spokesperson last fall.

“Like a lot of athletes, I’ve gained weight since I’ve retired. But, I don’t want to be a fat, old man taking lots of pills. Weight Watchers is helping me change my lifestyle and learn how to make smarter eating choices anywhere I am.”

Barkley, an NBA Hall of Famer, says he's lost 40 pounds since starting the program last year.

Lewisville (S.C.) High School senior Annette McCullough became the subject of criminal investigation after she brutally attacked a Chester (S.C.) High opponent.

During the game.

It seemed to come out of nowhere. In the midst of a tightly-fought girls soccer match, McCullough fell after a seemingly innocuous foul ... and absolutely lost it:

There is no video showcasing prior incidents between these two players, yet McCullough reacted viciously to a relatively minor trip that sent her to the ground.

The attack, which you can see above, featured hair pulling, punches being rained down on the Chester player before the melee was broken up.

Not just one or two of them, either. She went Jenelle Evans on her.

Annette McCullough was immediately sent off with a red card and escorted away from the field. Chester County deputies were called to the scene.

McCullough, 18, was charged with simple assault.

Stair bobsledding needs to be an Olympic sport in 2012.

It's probably too late to qualify for this summer's London games, but come 2016, if this guy keeps up his training (i.e. alcohol consumption) and avoids more than a half dozen serious concussions, he will be the consensus odds-on favorite for gold.

To inspire yourself before you attempt stair bobsledding at home, watch his astounding trial run below. All to go get a Swiffer mop. That's dedication, people.

He was best known for grabbing rebounds, but now former NBA star Dennis Rodman could use an assist. In life.

An Orange County court commissioner told the Hall of Famer yesterday that he will be held in contempt - and face 20 days in prison - over the $860,376 in child/spousal support he owes his ex-wife.

Rodman has until May 29 to come up with the money, but it could be a problem says his financial advisor, Peggy Williams. She claims her client is broke.

"In all honesty, Dennis, although a very sweet person, is an alcoholic," Williams tells The Los Angeles Times of Rodman. "His sickness impacts his ability to get work."

Rodman is a multiple-time champion and All-Star and one of the best defenders in NBA history. His colorful life off the court has included a marriage to Carmen Electra; time spent as Madonna's boyfriend; and a resume that includes donning a wedding dress to a book signing, along with coaching a topless women's team.

It looks like one Los Angeles sports institution is buying another.

A group of investors including former L.A. Lakers star Magic Johnson and longtime baseball exec Stan Kasten agreed Tuesday night to buy the Dodgers baseball team.

The price: A staggering record $2 billion.

That amount would shatter the mark for a sports franchise. Mark Walter, CEO of financial services firm Guggenheim Partners, would become controlling owner.

"I am thrilled to be part of the historic Dodger franchise and intend to build on the great foundation laid by Frank McCourt as we drive the Dodgers back to the front page of the sports section in our wonderful community of Los Angeles," Johnson said.

The deal, revealed hours after Major League Baseball owners approved three finalists for an intended auction, is one of the steps toward a sale by the end of April.

It is subject to approval in federal bankruptcy court.

Paul Sturgess, a player for the Harlem Globetrotters, recently dunked over some guy with the worst vertical leap ever. Does he even jump? Barely, if so.

Sturgess, who goes by the nickname "Tiny," played basketball at West Virginia's Mountain State University before being employed by the Globetrotters.

At 7'8", he'd have had better offers if he had better skills, but at least he's playing professionally in some capacity - and starring in viral videos, to boot!

The clip below, showing "Tiny" dunk over some poor sap and then taunt him afterward, is a little like most of us dunking on a five-year-old. Still, fun!

It's the biggest event in Kentucky since Colonel Sanders concocted a special recipe for fried chicken: Saturday night, the University of Kentucky basketball team will battle the University of Louisville in the NCAA Tournament Final Four.

The monogamy adverse ex-Kentucky coach, Rick Pitino, leads his Cardinals against the favored Wildcats of John Calipari and his NBA factory of a starting lineup with a berth in the national championship game on the line.

Just how hot is this ticket? A Kentucky fan has placed an ad on Craig's List, asking for seats at the game in exchange for... his wife! But only as collateral. See below:

Kentucky Craig's List Ad

As you can see, it's not a bad deal: learn a few languages while watching the game on your big screen TV? Certainly worth considering at least ...

Make some room, Linsanity. Welcome, Tebowmania.

Following last week's blockbuster trade, the new face of the New York Jets was introduced at a press conference yesterday, and boy, Tim Tebow is happy to be here.

The quarterback is excited, you might even say.

Seriously, if you devised a Tim Tebow press conference drinking game involving the word "excited" or its derivations, you're likely extremely hung over right now.

He's excited to help the team win. He's excited to work with Rex Ryan. He's even excited to play with Mark Sanchez. Guess it's better than being maudlin, right?
