Floyd Mayweather has been released from prison, and just in time, too: the poor guy was totally wasting away in there!

The boxer served two months of a 90-day sentence for domestic battery and walked out of Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas yesterday. He hugged various friends and family members - including 50 Cent - on the way to his car, but did not say anything to the media.

Floyd Mayweather vs. Miguel Cotto

Mayweather was jailed on June 1 after pleading guilty to an incident in September 2010 where he got physical with Josie Harris, the mother of his three children.

It's unclear, boxing-wise, what the future now holds for the undefeated champion.

Fans are clamoring for a Mayweather versus Manny Pacquiao bout, yet there's little reason to believe this will happen any time soon. If ever. Mayweather has spoken of retirement and he did make $85 million in fight earnings last year - but when your nickname is "Money," you can never have enough.

We'll see him back in the ring soon.

Fans at a minor league baseball game in Florida saw the rarest of ejections Wednesday: the home team's DJ got tossed for playing "Three Blind Mice"!

In Daytona's contest against Fort Myers on August 1, the home plate umpire whipped around and abruptly angrily ejected the "music guy" on the spot.

The ejection was captured on video, too. Watch it below:

The DJ, Derek Dye, was guilty of playing a non-lyrical rendition of "Three Blind Mice." The umpire demanded no music or PA announcements from then on.

As the announcers reveled in the bizarre awesomeness of Dye's ejection, the Daytona faithful booed the bitter ump and rallied behind their Cubbies.

Dayton won a squeaker, 2-1. Cubs win, music or not!

After teaming up for a pair of medal-winning relay swims this week, Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte squared off today in the 200-meter individual medley final.

The Americans were co-favorites, with Phelps having owned the event in the last two Olympics, but Lochte annihilating the field in the 400-meter IM this year.

Not surprisingly, one took gold and one silver today ... but who won?

  • Ryan Lochte Swimming
  • Michael Phelps Swimming

Michael Phelps! The most-decorated Olympian ever took home the gold in 1:54.27, just 0.27 off the world record and 0.04 off the Olympic record.

Ryan Lochte won the silver medal, 0.63 back.

Hungary's Laszlo Cseh fell away through three legs but earned the bronze. Brazil's Thiago Pereira was actually second after the breaststroke leg.

The medal was Phelps' 16th gold and record 20th overall, while Lochte reached double digits in career medals, earning #10 with the silver.

He probably won't hear from President Obama this time, but Michael Phelps' mom was definitely psyched as he continues to cement his legacy

Way to go, both of you guys! U-S-A! U-S-A!

Gabby Douglas just made history in London.

The 16-year old became the first African-American female gymnast to win Gold in the all-around individual competition.

Champion!

Leading the entire way, Douglas finished with 62.232 points, out-earning Russia's Victoria Komova (61.973). Aly Raisman of the U.S. actually finished tied for third, but did not medal due to a tiebreaker that gave the edge to Aliya Mustafina based on "execution.

A near-fall on the balance beam likely cost Raisman a spot on the podium, but we're sure her excitable parents are still very proud.

Earlier in the week, Douglas and Raisman were part of the first women's team to capture gymnastic Gold since 1996, proving once and for all: no one can flip, tumble and split like those who represent the red, white and blue!

Olympic bronze medalist Danell Leyva is basking in the stardom he's earned with his outstanding performance in gymnastics at the Summer Games in London.

His towel has also become a celebrity in its own right.

The 20-year-old Leyva won the medal in the men's gymnastics all-around final last night, with his blue and gray towel playing a key supporting role.

Between events, Leyva is often seen with his trademark towel on his shoulders; sometimes he also wraps it around his head to block out distractions.

Danell Leyva, Towel

After Leyva won the bronze, he talked about his struggles on pommel horse, his brilliance on the high bar, and his hopes of competing in the 2016 Olympics.

He was also asked about his lucky charm.

With 10,000-plus Twitter followers, @leyvastowel clearly has a fan base. "It's crazy," said Leyva, who isn't sure who owns the account. "But it's kinda cool."

The decidedly non-flashy towel is, in some ways, emblematic of Danell Leyva's humble beginnings - and has been with him for more than five years.

Destinee Hooker's unusual name receives a lot of attention, but the 25-year-old U.S. Olympic volleyball standout wants to be known for her play.

She's succeeding. Hooker scored 22 points and the U.S. women's team improved to 3-0 with a three-set preliminary round victory over China.

The top-ranked U.S., led by Hooker, toughed out a 26-24, 25-16, 31-29 win against the third-seeded Chinese in a possible medal round preview.

The Americans may be a team of ... wait for it ... Destinee.

Hooker isn’t surprised that her name is getting a lot of press at the London Olympics; she's been dealing with the remarks since she was a child.

She says it doesn't faze her, though, as she's proud of it.

Destinee’s name was a result of severe complications at birth; she nearly died then, but pulled through, inspiring her dad to call his baby girl “Destinee.”

As for the double E? “Since I was such a blessing, [my father] decided he wanted to spell it uniquely,” she explained to celebrity gossip website TMZ.

“So I am thankful to be here and glad my Dad gave me the name.”

We're thankful as well. The Chinese team? Maybe a little less so.

Montee Ball, a rising senior at the University of Wisconsin who set the all-time NCAA record for touchdowns in a season last year, was attacked in Madison this morning.

RB Photo

According to initial reports, the Heisman Trophy finalist was knocked to the ground and repeatedly kicked by five men. No reason for the beatdown has been made public, but Ball was taken to a hospital and has since been released.

"We will continue to evaluate him as we approach the start of fall camp this weekend," said Wisconsin Football Coach Bret Bielema.

Even those of us in the THG office who are Michigan State fans wish Ball a full and speedy recovery.

U.S. gymnast Danell Leyva is making headlines this week, and not for his performance in the London Olympics, but for his antics with an iPhone.

Deadspin claims a woman came forward and asked if she could "submit some risque photos of Danell Leyva," asking for nothing in return. Why?

She says she had "some in underwear and some nudes" of the Miami native, who she says "sorta played" her on a promised photo exchange.

What that means is an open question, but here's one:

NOTE: The rest of the Danell Leyva photos are more NSFW.

Before long, the woman the images to the sports/gossip site, adding that he has "done this to other women" as well, and potentially teasing more to come.

Whether she leaks more or they're any racier than the first batch remains to be seen, but if this is any indication, she is not a fan of Danell Leyva. At all.

Check out more of the risque shots - along with two others from ESPN the Magazine's Body Issue, which also featured Hope Solo nude - after the jump:

Former Cincinnati Bengals cheerleader Sarah Jones, a.k.a. the female Sandusky, is firing back at her at critics and the rumors about her personal life despite a request by prosecutors for a gag order in her sexual assault case.

Once a captain of the Cincinnati Ben-Gals (get it?!) and a former high school teacher, Sarah Jones is accused of sexually abusing a student and unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual activity.

"I read on blogs that I'm the female Jerry Sandusky ... to read those things and not be able to comment, not be able to stick up for myself is not fair," said the Kenton County, Ky., resident in an interview with ABC News.

"There's blogs and postings out there that I have slept with numerous people. I married my high school sweetheart," said Jones.

"People don't know the real me. I just asked the general public to maybe hold their judgment a little bit longer until the truth comes out."

Prosecutors asked a judge for a gag order on Monday to stop Jones from talking after she went on her lawyer's radio show earlier this month.

She went on the show to refute the charges against her. Jones' lawyer, Eric Deters, filed a motion to dismiss all charges due to lack of evidence.
