In the course of just a few weeks, Mark Sanchez may very well go from riding Eva Longoria to riding the pine.

The New York Jets lost out on any hope to make the playoffs last night when Sanchez threw four interceptions in an ugly 14-10 loss to the Tennessee Titans.

He now has 24 turnovers this season, 50 in the past two seasons and the time may have come for Coach Rex Ryan to make a change - especially when the possible son of God is Sanchez's backup.

"It doesn't feel good hurting your team like that," Sanchez said. "It's not a winning formula. It never feels good."

Ryan has not yet named a quarterback for next week's game against the Chargers, but Jets fans may officially rebel if Sanchez is under center.

Do you think Mark Sanchez should be benched?

UPDATE: Greg McElroy has been named the starter. Someone tell us, why did the Jets sign Tim Tebow again?

The University of North Alabama confirms it has kicked a player off the team after he fired off a racist slur in a Tweet about President Barack Obama.

Coaches made the move after Bradley Patterson complained that Obama's Newtown speech pre-empted Sunday night's Patriots-49ers NFL contest.

University sports publicist Jeff Hodges said the school found that there’s no question the tweet was issued by Patterson, and that he used a racial slur.

Patterson joined the University of North Alabama team as a walk-on after the fourth game of this season. He has now been issued his walking papers.

Jimmy Clausen has made very few headlines as the backup quarterback for the Carolina Panthers.

But the former Notre Dame star changed all that today when he Tweeted a photo of the shirt he plans to wear during the January 7 National Title game between his alma mater and Alabama.

Check it out for yourself:

Yes, Notre Dame is a Catholic university. We doubt he'll receive much flak for that label.

But referring to the school's opponents as "cousins?" It's hard not to wonder how some southern folks might feel about that.

So you tell us, southern folks! What do you think of the Catholics. vs. Cousins t-shirt?

Victor Cruz of the New York Giants was surprised and touched to learn he was the hero of Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victim Jack Pinto.

Pinto, who died Friday, used to wear Cruz's jersey during Giants games.

On Sunday, Cruz returned the favor in a way, writing Jack's name on his shoes for the team's game against the Falcons, who crushed New York 34-0.

Cruz was definitely a winner regardless of that result; after the game, he addressed the media and tried to make sense of the tragedy and his ties to it.

Last night marked Kate Middleton's first public appearance since being hospitalized with morning sickness this month - and it was a TV appearance at that!

The glowing Duchess of Cambridge, in a green Alexander McQueen dress, was on hand to give out awards at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year ceremony.

No real sign of a baby bump yet from Kate, but her very appearance is a hopeful sign that the ailing, expecting 30-year-old is getting better in recent days.

It also marked her first appearance since the death of Jacintha Saldanha.

The newspaper columnist, who is African-American, appeared on First Take this morning and said of the Redskins star rookie quarterback:

“Is he a brother, or is he a cornball brother? He's not real. Okay, he's black, he kind of does the thing, but he's not really down with the cause."

"He's not one of us. He's kind of black, but he's not really, like, the guy you want to hang out with because he's off to something else."

Steve Czaban and Andy Pollin, ESPN radio hosts based in Washington, D.C., have been suspended for derogatory comments made in a rant about transgender basketball player Gabrielle Ludwig.

Ludwig plays basketball for Mission College and was born Robert Ludwig, a fact Czaban and Pollin couldn't get enough of.

"How does this work? You lose testicles and gain eligibility?" one host asks in the following video.

With Czaban and Pollin constantly referring to Ludwig as "it," they continued:
