The Dallas Morning News was the first to notice that a man from Ft. Benning, Ga., petitioned President Obama to remove Jones from power over the Cowboys.

The petition, housed on the White House website (as is the big Texas secession petition) and filed under the category of "Human Rights," urges the following:

Fireman Ed is apparently hanging up his helmet.

Ed Anzalone - who has been a New York Jets fan since 1975 and who is known for his passionate chants of "J-E-T-S!" at home games - left his seat at halftime of the team's embarrassing Thanksgiving night loss to the Patriots and then announced he will no longer attend contests this season.

In his guest column for Metro New York, Fireman Ed does not cite the squad's 4-7 record or the awful play of Mark Sanchez for his departure.

Instead, he writes that "confrontations with other Jets fans have become more common, even though most Jets fans are fantastic."

The basis for many of these fights? Ed's defense of Sanchez versus the desires of others to see Tim Tebow under center.

Hector Camacho, a former Lightweight and Welterweight boxing champion, is expected to pass away this week from injuries suffered in a shooting on Tuesday. His family has announced will soon take the 50-year old off life support.

MACHO

The Puerto Rican native, who compiled a lifetime record of 79-6-3, was the passenger in a car when another vehicle pulled up aside him and a friend, firing shots that killed the driver in Camacho's car and fatally wounding the athlete.

He was hit in the neck and face and suffered a cardiac arrest soon after the incident, which many believe was drug-related after bags of cocaine were found in the victims' vehicle, according to TMZ sources.

Camacho was declared brain dead on Wednesday afternoon and funeral services will reportedly be held in either Puerto Rico or New York.

Happy Thanksgiving to all from The Hollywood Gossip!

What would this holiday be without family, food, football and reflection upon the things we appreciate most ... in the case of THG, that means turkeys of a different sort.

On this 22nd of November, we're paying tribute to stars we had the honor and the burden of covering in 2012. We are talking fowl individuals here ... real bird brains.

Without further ado, THG's Top 10 Turkeys of 2012 ...

Spencer Pratt is a Turkey

Who will win the Sixth Annual Spencer Pratt Thanksgiving Turkey Award!?

10. Mitt Romney and Courtney Stodden (tie). One's a relentless fame whore married to a man three times her age. The other cost himself a good shot at the presidency thanks to 47 percent-style gaffes and never deciding what kind of candidate he felt like being. Really, we just wanted to make web history with the first-ever use of Mitt Romney and Courtney Stodden in the same sentence.

No, that headline is not a typo.

Jack Taylor, a  guard for Division III Grinnell College, shattered the NCAA single-game scoring mark last night by dropping 138 points on Faith Baptist Bible in a 179-104 victory.

taylor, jack

Among the mind-boggling numbers associated with the feat:

  • Taylor took 108 shots, one every 20 seconds he was on the court.
  • He was 27 of 71 on three-pointers.
  • He only played 36 of a possible 40 minutes.

The accomplishment earned praise and amazement from those around the basketball spectrum, including a certain Lakers shooting guard who knows a thing or two about making buckets.

"That's crazy, man. I don't care what level you're at," Kobe Bryant said when told of the 138 points.

Expect him to try for 139 next game.
