SAMCRO learned a lesson the very hard say on Sons of Anarchy Season 7 Episode 7:

Do not mess with August Marks.

Jax tried to gain some leverage over his nemesis on the latest installment of this FX hit, but it ended badly. Like, really badly. Like... really, really, REALLY badly for Bobby, who was followed by members of Marks' crew, run off the road and then had his eye gorged out.

Like we said: do not mess with August Marks.

Based on the above preview for Sons of Anarchy Season 7 Episode 8, we do know that Bobby is still alive.

But the biker is in "mortal danger," according to director Paris Barclay, who added in an interview with Entertainment Weekly:

"Unless Jax does the absolutely right thing, bad things can happen to Bobby. I’m hopeful Jax will make the right decision, but I am very, very concerned at this point. It all will depend on Jax."

Look, someone has to come out and say it:

Jax Teller is a terrible motorcycle club president.

This has been evident for awhile now, as he simply took the word of his mother (that she saw two Chinese men leave Jax's house on the night Tara was murdered) in order to start an all-out gang war.

And then it was especially evident on Sons of Anarchy Season 7 Episode 7, as Jax turned up the heat on August Marks by trying to use the murdered pastor against him in an extreme power play.

Except SAMCRO is comprised of like five people at this point. And Marks has an entire army working for him. And he also has the money and strength and experience of Pope Industries behind him. And Jax didn't really think this through at all.

And Bobby had his eye gorged out as a result.

So... will Juice spill?

Jax and company finally caught up to their traitor at the conclusion of Sons of Anarchy Season 7 Episode 6, as Juice's attempt to trade a car and cash for safe passage to Mexico from the Mayans failed. Miserably.

The hour ended with this disgraced biker being led off by his former best friend, Chibs, being taken to... his death?

Perhaps. Or perhaps Gemma is the one who should fear for her life, based on what Juice knows about Tara and based on the fact that this secret simply can't stay hidden for much longer.

Based on the above trailer for Sons of Anarchy Season 7 Episode 7 (titled "Greensleeves"), Jax will be very anxious to speak to his mother, though the reasons why are unclear.

The waiting game continued on Sons of Anarchy Season 7 Episode 6.

For yet another week, a bulk of the hour was dedicated to Jax and SAMCRO moving from one alliance or club to another; striking up a deal with Tyler and the Niners here, making up with Marcus and The Mayans there, all aiming to take down August Marks in the end.

The pattern has grown a little tiresome over the course of Sons of Anarchy Season 7, as it's difficult to even keep track of what moves are meant to accomplish what goals.

Chess may be a fascinating game to play, but it's a bit boring to watch, know what we mean?

The decisions Jax are making right now may very well result in an explosive/shocking/suspenseful pay-off down the road, but it continuously feels these days as if Sons of Anarchy is spinning its wheels before arriving there.

We can only watch so many meetings with so many fellow club presidents without rolling our eyes.

SPOILER ALERT, Sons of Anarchy fans:

Neither Gemma nor Juice will end up dead on the side of the road.

Yes, this is how Sons of Anarchy Season 7 Episode 5 came to an end last night, but FX has come out with the official teaser for Sons of Anarchy Season 7 Episode 6 (titled "Smoke Em If You Got Em") and it shows both characters still among the living.

Gemma is sitting at a diner and speaking to a waitress (played by Lea Michele!) about Tara's death, while Juice is... turning on SAMCRO?!?

The following promo plops this embattled biker down across from Alvarez and appears to make his intentions very clear. Can you really blame guy for going this route? Why should he remain loyal to SAMCRO at this point?

Check out the footage now and go watch Sons of Anarchy online over at TV Fanatic in order to remain current.

Following last week's bloodbath at Diosa, sides were chosen on Sons of Anarchy Season 7 Episode 5.

Sheriff Janney opened the hour by making it clear to Jax that she understood how this whole "outlaw" thing works, but this was too big of a crime. The feds would be all over it.

She didn't care how he got the information across to her, but she made it as obvious as can be: she needed something from him. Anything. She couldn't just lay low this time around.

Later, of course, we saw that she did lay low (if you know what we mean!) for Chibs, as the relationship with these two continues to confound. There appear to be actual feelings between the biker and the officer.

But even as Janny is on the side of the law, she's also on the side of everyone's favorite Irishman. She gave Chibs a similar speech to the one she gave Jax, but she sealed it with a kiss.

Venus Van... DAMN!

That was quite the ending to Sons of Anarchy Season 7 Episode 4, wasn't it?

Following a couple weeks plotting and scheming against those he (wrongly) believes murdered Tara, Jax Teller saw his chickens come home to root at the conclusion of this intense hour.

And by "chicken," we mean employees at Diosa. And by "roost," we mean countless corpses were left covered in blood and brain matter as a result of an attack by Lin's people.

It was heartbreaking to watch, partly because we've grown attached to women there such as Collette; partly because (ironically) this was meant to be SAMCRO's clean business; and largely due to the reaction of Nero.

Here is how you know when Jax Teller is headed down a dark and dangerous path:

When a self-admitted ruthless killer gives the SAMCRO President advice that Jax ignores... and you find yourself agreeing with the self-admitted ruthless killer.

Such was the case on Sons of Anarchy Season 7 Episode 3, as August Marks told Jax that their relationship cannot work if it's based on "secrets and lies."

Jax acts the part of loyal partner, of course, but we then see him team with One-Niners leader Tyler in order to ensure that his purple gang will stick with SAMCRO down the line.

Tyler asks Jax and his crew to help take down a handful of rebellious One-Niners who are planning to splinter off, with our heroes (can we still call them that?) leading the renegades to the guns that were recently stolen by the Mayans... and then gunning them all down.

We know you're sick of counting bodies in Charming, Unser.

But Sons of Anarchy Season 7 Episode 2 continued to drive the point home: you can't exactly put away your abacus away just yet.

No member of SAMCRO has been killed off just yet, but the actions of Jax and company have now placed them down a precarious path.

As part of their plan to tear down Lin this week, they asked for help from the charter led by Jury. He recommended a couple of freelancer killers to help with a ganking of Lin's gun delivery and, after it was completed, Jax, Bobbyand Chibs paid these two young men a visit.

They shot them dead, in order to cover their tracks, and this plot for revenge seemed to be running along smoothly. Except there was one major problem we learned at the end of the installment:

Sons of Anarchy is off and running killing... and setting series ratings record.

According to an FX press release, the Sons of Anarchy Season 7 premiere drew 6.2 million total viewers, along with a 3.2 rating among adults 18-49, both high water marks for the Kurt Sutter-produced drama.

Jax on SOA

The extra long episode mostly centered on Jax's thirst for vengeance, as he's now out of prison and focused on taking down those responsible for his wife's murder on the Season 6 finale.
