While her sister Beyonce was revealing her pregnancy, Solange Knowles made headlines for less positive reasons in Miami, Fla., on Sunday night.

According to reports, Solange and her crew were rejected from a club because they had a balloon, which they decided to cross the street to pop.

Yes, this happened ... and resulted in a run-in with the cops.

There they encountered two off duty police officers, and a conversation ensued, which was "casual and light-hearted" at first. Then it went bad.

Apparently, the authorities were not enthralled about Solange being there, or about the balloon, which they brandished a weapon to destroy.

Police say Solange was "armed" with a "five-foot inflatable banana."

We're serious. According to Solange's rep, these events followed:

Solange Knowles claims Katy Perry is "polluting the chirrens." In English, she means polluting the children, which still doesn't really make sense, but closer.

Beyonce's sister's beef is with Katy's video for "California Gurls," which Solange's son Julez (yup, with a Z) was watching on Youtube. Solange is not happy.

Rather than simply turning on the parental controls or speaking to her kid about it, Solange is ripping Katy and her "kiddie porn." Not an exaggeration at all.

Solange hates "California Gurls." And spelling.

Her exact words were: "But seriously. Iontlike the fact dat Julez thinks he gotta sneak & watched California gurls on u tube. Katy Perry is polluting the chirrens."

"It is like kiddie porn tho. All of them damn colors, candy and shit ... and then the daisy dukes, breast shooting cream ... And then Elmo and Tits!?"

Hey, if Katy Perry on Sesame Street is deemed a bad fit by the show, that's one thing. But leave her daisy dukes alone and do your job, Solange!

Beyonce was at the center of controversy last night - through no fault of her own.

If you missed it, that jackass Kanye West decided to interrupt Taylor Swift at the MTV Video Music Awards, proclaiming that Beyonce was more deserving of Best Female Video after producing THE GREATEST VIDEO OF ALL TIME!!!!!

To her credit, Beyonce was horrified, then reached out to Swift with a classy gesture after the incident. Yeah. Even she thinks Kanye West is a moron.

Moving on to more important things, girl was lookin' flat out FIERCE last night in that red dress. So vibrant. The plunging neckline and the shoes? Wow.

Not to be outdone, her sister Solange showed up and ... well, she was probably outdone. But that black number with the shaved head looked cool.

Solange Knowles, the lesser-known and long-suffering sister of Beyonce, has long resented the inevitable comparisons to her famous diva sibling.

She once joked that she would "go crazy like Britney" if people kept comparing her to her sister. Well, people apparently didn't heed her warning.

With her new haircut, Solange is channeling her inner Britney Spears in a big way. And by "haircut," we mean shaved head. We mean Solange is bald.

B's little sis hit the streets of L.A. in a new shorn hairstyle yesterday. The 23-year-old completely shaved off her locks for a "low-maintenance" look.

Some of Hollywood’s hottest young stars are posing for the brand's “OPen Campus” campaign, including 90210 star AnnaLynne McCord, One Tree Hill's Sophia Bush, Solange Knowles, Joel Madden, The Hills' Brody Jenner and Cody Linley.

The sexy sextet posed on a custom OP bus by West Coast Customs that has everything from a stage on the roof to recycled cork floors and a gaming system.

TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL: Six young Hollywood stars promote OP's fall line.

At the shoot at University High School in L.A., the girls bonded over gossip in the bus while Cody and Brody palled around on skateboards between takes.

Appearing in the ads was not a hard sell for the stars.

"When they asked if I wanted to be involved, I was like, 'definitely!'" said Joel Madden. "Op is a classic California skating and surfing brand. It’s very cool."

"Being from Southern California, I basically grew up wearing Op," Brody Jenner added. "It’s really cool for me to now be part of their new ads."

A sympathetic Solange Knowles says knows the challenge of being a famous teen mother. Or at least a teen mother.

Solange, 21, welcomed son Daniel in 2004 at the age of 18 (she split with husband, former football player Daniel Smith, after the baby was born).

"I'm sure a lot of people perceived that I was gonna be a young, irresponsible mom," Beyonce's sister told Us Weekly recently.

"I think that there are moms who are 35 who are just as irresponsible."

What advice does Solange have for the 17-year-old pregnant Jamie Lynn Spears (whose baby bump is really starting to show)?

"You just have to make the best decisions for you," Knowles said. "You have to decide what's best for you. Who are we to say what's right and wrong for a person?"

To focus on raising her son, Solange Knowles said she "moved to the country for a year" without any nannies or babysitters.

"My parents lived on a whole opposite part of the world," she said. "My son has been my focus ever since the day he was born. He's been the light of my life," she added, "the inspiration behind everything."

Sounds like good advice from another star's younger sister who has been there. At least Jamie Lynn has Casey Aldridge around to help out, as well.
