He's the ex-husband, after all, of her friend Marie-Anne Thiebaud - who had been having an affair with Shania’s husband, Robert 'Mutt' Lange. That's drama.

Well, eight months after she began dating the husband of the other woman, it is being reported that Shania Twain and Frederic Thiebaud are getting married!

The couple showed off matching "promise rings" - hers silver with diamonds, his just silver - at Shania’s secluded cottage on the Lake of Bays in Ontario.

They "can’t wait" to make it official.

Shania Twain's husband, Mutt Lange, cheated on her with this dude's wife. Now she's getting the best revenge by getting engaged to Frederic Thiebaud! Supposedly.

A Star Magazine insider (there's a contradiction in terms) says Shania and Frederic have been discussing wedding plans and hope to tie the knot next year.

“[Frederic Thiebaud] is the only person that Shania trusts outside of her family,” says another insider. “She feels so lucky to have found him.”

This story is probably complete crap, but Mutt Lange is still an idiot.

A month after separating from her husband of 14-year, Mutt Lange, Shania Twain is speaking out about her heart break.

The singer posted the following message on her website yesterday, referring to Lange's alleged affair with Twain's former friend, Marie-Anne Thiebaud.

"As I am sure you have seen or heard; I am going through a rough time personally in my life. I wanted you all to know that I could not be getting through this without you. Your letters, emails and words of encouragement give me strength.

Your overwhelming support reminds me to smile, no matter how deep the pain and to always be grateful for all the beautiful blessings in my life.

I have so much to say but I know the best way for me to speak is through my music. This is my therapy, my passion, and my love. I look forward to sharing it with all of you as I begin this new journey.

I need some time to heal this broken heart but make no mistake; I will be back and hopefully stronger than ever."

As Marie-Anne Thiébaud's name has become synonymous with "dirty, lying adulterer," the former secretary for Shania Twain and Mutt Lange has finally spoken out.

Thiébaud was contacted E! News at her home and told the celebrity gossip network:

"I know what you're ringing to ask me about. But, when marriages break up they break up for all sorts of complicated reasons, it's never just one reason. And those reasons should be kept private. If you're looking for a person that broke up a marriage then you have the wrong person. I'm not that person."

Thiébaud declined to comment any further on the rumors, asking that the press not "intrude into people's private lives."

Not only must the award-winning country singer deal with the divorce from her husband of 14 years, but reports have surfaced that the reason for the break-up between Twain and Mutt Lange is his affair with Marie-Anne Thiébaud, a former close friend of Shania.

Pictured on the right, Marie-Anne Thiébaud served as a secretary and house manager at Twain and Lange's estate in Switzerland for many years before deciding to allegedly get it on with the man called Mutt.

Christiane Plante would be proud.

Marie-Anne Thiébaud reportedly screwed over Shania Twain by screwing her husband.

According to a source, Lange, Twain and Thiebaud "would vacation and spend holidays together... Shania considered Marie-Anne one of her best friends."

This insider added that Shania is "devastated" by her split from Lange, but allow us to assure her: if this news is true, Shania, you're much better off without that cheating loser.

There's no denying the fact that the 14-year marriage between Robert "Mutt" Lange and Shania Twain is over.

But there is controversy over the reasons behind the split.

Self-absorbed gossip blogger Perez Hilton reports that Lange had an affair with Marie Ann Thiébaud, a longtime secretary and manager of the couple's chateau in Switzerland.

This dude cheated on Shania Twain. Really?!? We hope Marie Ann Thiébaud was worth it, Mutt.

"Mutt and Marie Ann left their spouses for each other and are still in a relationship," a source said, though Lange denied this allegation.

"It's absolutely not the reason [for the split]," he said.

Notice that Mutt - if that is his real name! - didn't deny sleeping with Marie Ann Thiébaud, though.

This story causes us to question the sincerity of Twain's classic song, "You're Still the One."

Looks like these two haven't made it, after all. They may have taken the long way, but is this really where they hoped to get to someday?
