After dating for more than a year, Scarlett Johansson is engaged to her boyfriend Ryan Reynolds, celebrity news sources have confirmed.

“They’re both thrilled,” Johansson’s rep, Marcel Pariseau, said.

The hunky Ryan Reynolds, 31, is currently filming The Proposal (how appropriate) in and around Boston with Sandra Bullock.

He recently popped the question to Scarlett Johansson, 23.

There’s no wedding date yet, but Johansson is expected to debut her engagement ring at Monday night’s Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute Gala in New York.

Sources say Johansson is eager to “show off her rock” tonight.

Chances are she may be showing off her rack, as well. Sorry. But you have to admit, Ryan Reynolds did pretty well for himself landing Scarlett!

We sort of feel bad for Prince Charles here.

As a straight male, one cannot help but picture Scarlett Johansson naked within seconds. We have it easier than he, as in our jobs, we can freely admit this.

However, Prince Charles might want to dial down the ogling a little.

She may not be engaged to boyfriend Ryan Reynolds, but a bundled-up Scarlett Johansson isn’t shy about supporting the other man in her life.

Wearing some puffy winter weather gear as she arrived in Germany Thursday to promote her movie, The Other Boleyn Girl, at the Berlin Film Festival, Scarlett rocked what has become a trademark accessory - a Barack Obama pin.

With or without the Obama pin, Scarlett Johansson is seriously cute.

ScarJo and many other celebrities recently teamed up to make a very cool YouTube music video inspired by the Democratic presidential contender.

Well, not in the literal sense. Barack Obama is quite content with his wife, Michelle, and their two young daughters.

But Scarlett Johansson, asked after her recent USO Tour of the Persian Gulf if she is engaged to Ryan Reynolds, responded in this fashion:

“I am engaged … to Barack Obama. My heart belongs to Barack, and that is who I am currently, finally, engaged to. Yes.”

Johansson has been a vocal proponent of the Illinois senator’s campaign for the White House. No word on whether Reynolds is jealous of Barack Obama.

Her adoration for Obama aside, rumors were flying today that Scarlett and Ryan Reynolds, who have been going out for awhile now, are in fact engaged.

They are not engaged.

The New York Post reported early this morning that Scarlett Johansson, 23, was seen shopping for wedding dresses at a Monique Lhuillier boutique in L.A. with her mother and sister recently, triggering big-time celebrity rumors.

But her rep spoke with Us Weekly this afternoon that “a family member is getting married, not her. She is not engaged.”

Ryan Reynolds is, presumably, still hittin’ that though.

One is a sexy Hollywood starlet.

The other is an aging actor who, according to the Internet, once sold his soul to the devil in exchange for unparalleled martial arts skills, then - in an ironic twist - roundhouse kicked the devil in the face and took his soul back.

So what do Scarlett Johansson and Chuck Norris have in common?

They both backed winners in Thursday’s Iowa caucuses. Yes, with a little help from their celebrity fans, Democrat Barack Obama and Republican Mike Huckabee emerged victorious in Iowa’s first-in-the-nation vote.

While Chuck Norris, 67, stumped for Mike Huckabee in December and was with him last night, Johansson, 23, was by Obama’s side, speaking at a rally for high school and college-aged “Barack Stars” in Coralville, Iowa, this week.

Scarlett Johansson urged younger Democrats in Iowa to help deliver a Barack Obama victory, and they obliged as the Illinois senator won the caucus.

“She actually seemed a little shy when she started speaking,” audience member Jason Millsap said. “But she warmed up to the crowd … It was pretty exciting and inspiring to see someone as big as her come and talk to her peers.”

“[Scarlett Johansson] was asked a question as to why she chose to support Barack Obama and answered it very well, in my opinion,” added high schooler and caucus goer Peter Caroll. “She [explained] how she did research him and found Obama to be [passionate about] most of the issues she deemed important.”

Young voters, like Johansson and her fellow Barack Stars, may have been a key to Barack Obama’s victory over John Edwards and Hillary Clinton. Obama took an estimated 57 percent of the under-30 vote, according to CNN.

Hillary Clinton has Barbra Streisand. Mike Huckabee has Chuck Norris (and maybe Jamie Lynn Spears). Barack Obama has Oprah, former stars of The OC, and most Democratic voters under 30… including Scarlett Johansson!

After partying with beau Ryan Reynolds for New Year’s, the actress surfaced at the Iowa Caucuses on Thursday to support the Democratic contender.

A Barack Obama press rep reports that Scarlett Johansson, the 23-year-old Lost in Translation star showed up to support her candidate of choice at two of his final Iowa campaign events - in Des Moines and Coralville.

Despite circulating reports and Jenna Jameson’s hopes that the actress is just the right mix of sexy and mysterious, Scarlett Johansson will not play the porn star in the film adaptation of her autobiography. Possibly since she’s not skinny enough?

“Scarlett has never seen a script nor been approached about this project,” says her rep. “She also has no interest in playing this role.”

Maybe Scarlett Johansson could be convinced? Sorry, but a body like that is just made for certain roles. Can’t someone talk her into it? Anyway, moving on.

Speaking at the Comic Con convention in San Diego this weekend, Jenna Jameson, 33, said she was smitten with the 22-year-old Johansson after seeing her Golden Globe-nominated turn in the 2003 film Lost in Translation.

“I remember thinking to myself, this girl has such a sexuality without even really trying to be sexy,” Jameson said. “I was like, ‘This girl could play me.’”

Though she has met Scarlett Johansson only briefly, Jameson said their encounter left an impression. “I love her,” Jameson said. “She’s amazing. She’s smart, she’s funny… stunning.”

Jameson said it will be called Heartbreaker, based on Jameson’s 2004 book, How to Make Love Like a Porn Star, in which she detailed her rise to stardom in the porn industry.

Casting is crucial, said Jenna Jameson, emphasizing that the film needs more than just a pretty face. You know what she’s talking about.

“I don’t want someone who’s going to go in there and be like bouncing around,” she said. “I want someone who can bring some depth.”

Alas, the only screening Scarlett is going to make of this kind will be a private one, for reported beau Ryan Reynolds.

How risque Jenna’s movie is remains to be seen. Asked if it will be explicit, Jameson said, “It has to be. Not because we want to draw fans. Because I want to tell the true story.”

Jenna, let us be the first to recommend Eva Mendes or Megan Fox for the part. They may look nothing like you, but they don’t shy away from nude photos!

Meanwhile, we talked earlier today about the multiple awards taken home by Carrie Underwood last night at the Country Music Awards. We didn’t mention what else she took home, though:

We think that’s clear, having, you know, seen pictures and videos of Pete Wentz before. But People magazine, in an effort to act cool and trendy, decided to include the Fall Out Boy bassist / Ashlee Simpson boy toy in annual its list of the world’s most beautiful individuals.

Seriously, People. WTF. What’s next, Marilyn Manson? Dudes wearing makeup is great for publicity and selling records - and it doesn’t stop you from scoring with hot girls, either. But let’s not kid ourselves and call Pete Wentz beautiful, k?

Ryan Reynolds, who used to be engaged to that Canadian singer, spent a busy weekend in New York City with someone far more attractive.

On Saturday night, he was spotting cozying up to actress Scarlett Johansson at the Manhattan restaurant Odeon. “They were in a good mood,” says one eyewitness who saw them laughing and smiling.

“They were definitely holding hands,” another observer told People magazine. “They were a cute couple!”

Scar-Jo, as random gossip columnists call her, was recently linked to Justin Timberlake; Reynolds and Morisette ended their engagement in February.

The new couple, who were with a group of pals, arrived at the Carlyle hotel around 4 p.m. Sunday for the $135 prix fixe lunch.

The whole group “was having a blast,” says one witness. “It looked like a group of friends. I don’t even think they were celebrating Easter.”

Probably not. Just love. Like Andy Baldwin and 25 instantly smitten young women.
Johansson recently told Seventeen she’s single and not looking for love.

“When I’m single, I don’t focus. I focus on a guy if he’s a boyfriend, but I don’t focus on finding a boyfriend,” she said.
