Forget the Beyonce Illuminati debate.

Was the singer's Super Bowl halftime show performance really just a long homage to Saturday Night Live's "Mokiki and the Sloppy Swish" video?

One of Bey's moves clearly resembled Mokiki's signature Sloppy Swish move, described on SNL as "a really stupid dance, invented by a crazy person."

Take a look at the comparison below:

Lonely Island returned to SNL with a new song this weekend, featuring host Adam Levine and Kendrick Lamar along with Andy Samberg and the guys.

The title: "YOLO."

You only live once, it's true, but unlike Drake's rallying cry to go balls out, this is more of a cautionary anthem about truly getting the most out of life.

The motto of a generation, YOLO should be an overused catchphrase to live by ... not to die by. So start living your paranoid, risk-free existence to the fullest!

You Oughta Look Out ... for Lonely Island's new album in 2013!

She talked trash to her fellow Oscar nominees. She dressed in punk, mocked Katniss Everdeen in a Hunger Games sketch and served as a really mean waitress.

All in an evening's work for Jennifer Lawrence, who hosted Saturday Night Live yesterday for the first time.

Does the show have the next Alec Baldwin on its hands? Or another Jeremy Renner?

Following an exciting week in which she won a Golden Globe and killed it on Letterman, sound off on Lawrence now: What grade would you give her as a host of SNL?

Forget the Justin Bieber smoking weed scandal. This singer is simply going about his professional life.

And that life will take him to NBC's most famous stage on February 9, as Bieber has been officially booked as a host on Saturday Night Live!

Justin Bieber in a Tanktop

The artist - who will be promoting his album "Believe Acoustic" - will perform double duty on the late-night sketch program, joining Bruno Mars and others who have both hosted and been the evening's musical act.

In 2010, Bieber appeared in a sketch opposite Tina Fey; and he also helped Andy Samberg celebrate 100 Digital Shorts last May.

Need we even ask: Will you be staying up late to watch Bieber play host?

Martin Short hosted. Paul McCartney performed. And Tom Hanks, Alec Baldwin, Samuel L. Jackson and Tina Fey all made cameos.

But the New York Children's Choir stole the show at Saturday Night Live this weekend, as it opened the program with a beautiful rendition of "Silent Night."

The move was made in honor of the Connecticut shooting victims who died at the incomprehensible hands of Adam Lanza. Watch the moving gesture now:

Jamie Foxx rocked Saturday Night Live with a hilarious monologue this weekend, musing on current events and how America is changing with regard to race.

The talented actor's refrain for this opening bit? "How Black is That?"

All across this great nation, black is the new white, are we right?

Foxx thinks so, referencing the plot of his upcoming film Django Unchained, Jay-Z's ownership of the Brooklyn Nets, President Obama's dancing skills and much more.

The 44-year-old not only killed with his jokes, but showed his versatility: he's also a wonderful singer, a talented pianist, and a rapper who can hold his own.

Special guest 2 Chainz would no doubt agree.

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie appeared on Saturday Night Live's Weekend Update to chat with Seth Meyers about Hurricane Sandy relief and more.

While he ruffled GOP feathers by praising President Obama's response to the storm, the outspoken governor's crisis management earned him well-deserved bipartisan praise.

Not that it didn't come at a cost; Christie told Meyers he's worn that same wet fleece for three weeks. At least New Jersey residents are patient, he noted ... yeah, right.

SNL's new Digital Short, "The Legend of Mokiki and the Sloppy Swish," is a creature unto its own, but the absurd video and dancing are already inspiring parodies a la Gangnam Style.

You could say the Sloppy Swish is literally contagious.

This weekend, Saturday Night Live introduced viewers to Mokiki, a medical lab test patient turned dance machine who wanders through NYC performing his signature dance move.

Marlee Matlin is very unhappy with Saturday Night Live.

The Oscar-winning deaf actress took to Twitter this week and slammed the show for one of its most recent skits, during which the series mocked New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg's sign language interpreter, Lydia Callis, for her animated expressions.

Saturday Night Live Sign Language Skit

"Millions of deaf people use sign. Why poke fun/fake it? Poke fun at ME but not the language. Would they do that to Spanish or Chinese? FAIL," Matlin wrote.

Cat Woman and Aaron Cross will take to the Saturday Night Live stage next month.

The iconic sketch comedy show announced today that Anne Hathaway and Jeremy Renner will host the program's November 10 and November 17 episodes, respectively.

It will mark the actor's first time as emcee and Hathaway's third go-around.

  • Anne Hathway with Short Hair
