With his ex-wife possibly still dating Jake Gyllenhaal, Ryan Phillippe is reportedly back together with his former mistress.

That's right, folks, there has been another Abbie Cornish sighting.

This Australian actress and Reese Witherspoon's ex-husband supposedly starting having sex... while Ryan was still married.

According to that loser celebrity gossip source, Perez Hilton, the pair stopped seeing each other once the affair was made public - but were spotted together again on August 5th in LA's Franklin Canyon Park.

"They were laughing," said a witness, "and obviously enjoying themselves."

Despite the rekindling of this flame, Phillippe is reportedly peeved about the Gyllenhitherspoon romance.

"Ryan is pissed about Jake," an insider told Us Magazine. Ryan told Reese he "didn't want ‘that guy' around their kids and then made some crude Brokeback Mountain remark."

The actor really sounds mature and level-headed in every way, doesn't he? Who would've guessed that Ryan Phillippe would give Spencer Pratt a run for the title of Biggest Jerk in Hollywood?

Forget Terra Jole, the midget "mini-Britney" debuting in Vegas tomorrow. Britney Spears has bigger things to worry about right now.

Like her sagging career. And the rumor that she and Ryan Phillippe hooked up in a bathroom at L.A. hot spot Les Deux last week.

A source told the National Enquirer that shortly after Ryan stopped by the table of Britney Spears, "Britney had her arms around him."

The former Mrs. Kevin Federline is said to have then followed the former Mr. Reese Witherspoon's estranged husband to the men's room.

Her worried bodyguards are said to have later "busted in the door and found Britney and Ryan groping and kissing."

Their reps, of course insist they never even spoke at the club.Interestingly, Phillippe was the recently the subject of similar rumors involving himself and another lip-synching blonde, Ashlee Simpson.

Les Deux, in addition to being a favorite Spencer Pratt hangout (as noted on The Hills), was also the scene of an awkward run-in recently between Lindsay Lohan and Sara Kova.

Sara Kova is the model whom Lohan's beau, Calum Best, recently got his mack on with at a Bahamas nightclub. Kova tried to be friendly, but Lohan cut the chat short when someone snapped their picture.

"I didn't even know he was going out with Lindsay Lohan when he grabbed me," Kova told the New York Daily News. "I have nothing but sympathy for Lindsay."

Same here. We hear Georgia Rule is f*%king terrible.

What would Abbie Cornish have to say about this Hollywood rumor?

If it's true, we assume that the young actress is no longer seeing Crash star Ryan Phillippe.

After all, reports are going around that the actor recently met Ashlee Simpson at Los Angeles nightclub Les Deux before spending the night at her $6 million home.

According to a source at Australia's New Weekly magazine: "When Ryan and his friends arrived they were shown to the only table with any space left â€" where Ashlee and her friends were sitting.

"He couldn't keep his eyes off her in her very figure hugging little black dress. They seemed very into each other. Ashlee was really excited. You could tell she had a huge crush on him."

Well, sure. Now that Pete Wentz doesn't want her and her fake nose.

After flirting for hours, Phillippe and Simpson allegedly disappeared to a private area upstairs, called The Library. Let's just say they didn't exactly read there, if witnesses are to be believed!

"They were up there for over an hour and came back looking dishevelled. We knew something went on," the source continued.

Maybe you should stop reading this now, Reese Witherspoon. It doesn't get any prettier.

"They took separate cars and met at her place. He spent the night! Ashlee is keeping quiet and just said how hot he was. They really hit it off. I think they will hook up again."

Well, if this random, anonymous person says so, we believe it. We just wonder if Jessica Simpson would approve.

It's "the most difficult time of [his] life," but Ryan Phillippe is finally speaking up about one of the more publicized Hollywood divorces in years.

"I must stay focused on my kids," Phillippe tells TV's Extra in an interview airing this week.

On November 8, Reese Witherspoon filed for divorce from Phillippe, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple was married for seven years and have two children: Ava, 7, and Deacon, 3.

The Flags of Our Fathers star said he has "not found balance" yet in his personal and professional life. Perhaps he ought to follow the lead of Brody Jenner and simply not bother with a professional life.

Going through a break-up in the public eye makes things harder, he says:

"It's unfortunate when you have kids ... but I signed up for this and have to deal with it. I don't read the magazines or watch the shows ... It's hard when people follow me to my kid's school."

We're sure going on national TV can only help reduce such exposure. It sure worked for Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey.

Phillippe would not comment on reports that a relationship with Abbie Cornish â€" the Australian actress who costars with him in an upcoming film â€" played a role in the demise of his marriage.

Therefore, we'll go ahead and assume that it did.

Did Ryan Phillippe commit adultery?

Giving his first comments about the divorce from Reese Witherspoon, the actor made one thing clear: maybe he did and maybe he didn't.

"I'm not a perfect person, but I'm not guilty of a lot of the things I have been accused of. My priority is and always has been the health and safety of my family," Phillippe said to People magazine.

Phillippe, 32, and Witherspoon, 30, have a daughter Ava, 7, and son Deacon, 3.

However, the actor will not comment on reports that a relationship with Abbie Cornish - the Australian actress who costars with him in an upcoming film and looks eerily like his ex - played a role in the demise of his seven-year marriage.

But his reps do vehemently deny the recent allegations of hard partying and drug use that we've scarcely heard about in the first place.

It's no secret that Phillippe has always enjoyed hitting the clubs with friends. He and Witherspoon "would fight over that kind of thing all the time. He got away with a lot and he knows it," according to a source at a Santa Monica bar that Phillippe used to frequent.

His rep, however, denies it: "Look, he went out, she went out, it wasn't a point of conflict."

The rep had no comment on how either side felt about the new hair of Ashley Olsen, though.

Whatever happens next, says a Phillippe pal, "I know they love their kids to death. So they'll do what they can to keep it from turning ugly."

For the sake of Jayden James Federline, let's hope another recently divorced duo feels the same way.

According to TMZ .com, Reese Witherspoon may not have walked the financial line so well when she entered into her marriage.

The website reports that the actress never asked her less well off husband, Ryan Phillippe, to sign a prenup. Her fortune could now be up for the taking.

And what a fortune it is! Witherspoon now commands $20 million a movie, as she made $30 million in 2005 alone with hits Walk the Line and Just like Heaven. That's almost as many dollars as Flavor Flav has children.

Phillippe, in contrast, has been commanding a paltry $2.5 million per film. Under California law, without a prenup, earnings during a marriage are divided up 50/50.

There shouldn't be any fighting during the settlement, at least. Sources ranking a divorce on a scale of one to 10 - with one being a peaceful breakup and ten being David Hasselhoff-like - say the Witherspoon/Phillippe split is a three.

Using that scale, however, we can't count high enough to determine what Paul McCartney and Heather Mills would be? 57? 9,709?

It takes a lot to surprise the staff of The Hollywood Gossip. For example, Nicole Richie NOT fainting after working up any sort of sweat would be shocking.

However, news that Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe have separated after seven years of marriage definitely caused an audible gasp in the office.

"We are saddened to announce that Reese and Ryan have decided to formally separate," a rep for the couple said in a statement released Monday. "They remain committed to their family and we ask that you please respect their privacy and the safety of their children at this time."

TMZ.com first reported the couple's split and People magaine confirmed it.

Witherspoon, 30, and Phillippe, 32, have two children, daughter Ava, 7, and son Deacon, 3.

Witherspoon, who won an Oscar for her role in last year's hit Walk the Line, is next expected to appear in the drama Rendition. Phillippe is currently starring in the WWII drama, Flags of Our Fathers.

We hope Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore aren't next to call it quits.

Normal couples exist in Hollywood. As much as fans may believe it's all about Nicole Richie/Brody Jenner-type dysfunction, there are a few happy pairings out there.

Ryan Phillippe and Reese Witherspoon would be a perfect example. Recently, The Flags of Our Fathers talked about separating his steady marriage with his growing film career.

"Sometimes I think it's a little cleaner to, at least at this stage in our lives, keep that stuff separate," Phillippe told Interview magazine in its new issue. "I'd never write anything off completely, but I just feel like there's something to be said for the individuality and mystery of doing things on your own."

Phillippe, 32, says he'll never get used to working away from Witherspoon and their kids Ava, 7, and Deacon, 3.

"That's a difficulty that I don't know if I will ever totally come to terms with. But I think I commit sometimes even further to a role because it leaves me less time to think about those things that make me feel sad, like not being around my children."

It's probably akin to how Lindsay Lohan feels when she's not around a bottle of Jack Daniels and/or a naked man.

According to Phillippe, immersing himself in his role serves as "a shield or a protective blanket that keeps me from having to deal with the reality. If I can't see my kids, and I'm in another time zone, I really have to live and eat and breathe the work around the clock, because that keeps me sane."

For others, such as Kevin Federline, beating up people in a wrestling ring keeps them sane.

Meanwhile, Witherspoon and Phillippe make sure that if one parent is making a movie, the other will remain at home with the kids.

"That's one of the ways we keep the balance," he said.
