About 14 months ago, Raven-Symone came out as gay.

The former Cosby Show star Tweeted last August that she can "finally get married" due to changing laws in this country, apparently ruining the childhood of many idiots around the nation.

But that doesn't mean Raven-Symone wants to be labeled a lesbian.

In fact, Raven-Symone doesn't want to be labeled anything at all.

"I’m tired of being labeled,” the actress told Oprah Winfrey last night.

“I’m an American. I’m not an African American; I’m an American… I don’t know where my roots go to. I don’t know how far back they go."

"I don’t know what country in Africa I’m from, but I do know that my roots are in Louisiana. I’m an American. And that’s a colorless person."

Yesterday, in very troubling news, Japanese company Sanrio confirmed that Hello Kitty is NOT, in fact, a cat.

The maker of this iconic cartoon character released a statement in which it says Kitty "is a girl,” which comes as quite a surprise, even though her official bio has stated this fact for years.

This revelation has sent shockwaves around the globe - and it’s also made us wonder: How else have we been fooled? What other previously-presumed animals are, in actuality, human?

After extensive research, we've uncovered 13 celebrities who have also been living a lie. This golfer isn't actually a tiger. This singer has nothing in common with a seal.

It's sad but true. So let's just get it all out in the open, shall we? Scroll around below to discover which stars have been misleadingly named after animals:

Tiger Woods
Tiger Woods hasn't won a Major in years. But he's winning at the game of animal first names. So there's that.

Raven-Symone came out last week via Twitter.

And now she's receiving some backlash via Twitter.

A few days after the former Cosby Show star expressed enthusiasm over the fact that she can "finally get married," many have taken to the social network and oddly/cruelly accused the actress of ruining their childhood.

Because they used to be a fan of her sitcom and now they can regret it? Because she's a lesbian? We guess? Check out some of these mean-spirited Tweets in the following video:

So, THGers, you tell us: Did Raven-Symone ruin your childhood with her announcement?

For years actress Raven-Symone has kept mum on her sexual orientation. That's her prerogative so more power to her. However, today she is coming out loud and proud via Twitter.

With this tweet, "I can finally get married! Yay government! So proud of you", Raven-Symone put to rest all discussions of whether or not she is gay.

Good for you Raven-Symone! We wish you all the happiness in the world... now let's talk about getting State of Georgia back on the air.

Raven-Symoné currently stars on Broadway in Sister Act.

But instead of answering questions about life as a pretend nun, the actress has taken to Twitter and responded to a National Enquirer report that claims she is living with AzMarie Livingston, a contestant on America's Next Top Model.

"I'm living my PERSONAL life the way I'm happiest," she wrote. "I'm not one, in my 25 year career to disclose who I'm dating. and I shall not start now. My sexual orientation is mine, and the person I'm datings to know. I'm not one for a public display of my life."

She added:

"However that is my right as a HUMAN BEing whether straight or gay. To tell or not to tell. As long as I'm not harming anyone. I am a light being made from love. And my career is the only thing I would like to put on display, not my personal life. Kisses!"

Certainly a fair point of view. But a Twitter rant is likely to simply draw more attention to an issue Symone just wants to go away. From a practical standpoint, she may have been better off confirming the rumor in a brief statement and moving on.
