Rachael Ray: Cooking Topless, Planning Burger Joints

Now You're Cookin'Good news for Jennifer Love Hewitt: There will soon be a new place for you to gorge on cheeseburgers.

And - based on the picture to the right - the chef cooking up your favorite food may not be wearing a shirt. But topless or not, Rachael Ray has announced her next brand extension will involve burgers.

Ray told an audience at the American Magazine Conference in Phoenix on Sunday she will open the yet-untitled "burger joint" in New York, based on 190 burger recipes she has cooked up.

"We'll rotate them . Tuna burgers, swordfish burgers, turkey burgers," Ray said. "I like anything you can pick up with your hands - portable food."

Interesting. Nicole Richie would say the same thing, but it would be anything you can regurgitate with your stomach - vomitable food.

Ray also commented on her growing rival, Martha Stewart, saying: "Her brand is about striving for perfection. Ours is ... 'eh.'"

"I've never felt influenced by her," Ray said. "But I wish her nothing but good, warm, wonderful success."

And she almost got it out with a straight face. Still, this feud isn't very exciting. Who can produce the better cupcake? Wake us when it's over. Give us Heather Mills versus the entire British journalism world instead.

Battle of the Bakers: Rachael Ray Takes on Martha Stewart

We're mostly referring to the competition that kicks off today when Rachael Ray debuts her new talk show.

Ray Likes to Eat

But apparently more than mere ratings are being fought over. According to reports, four staffers from the Martha Stewart show tried to sneak into a taping of Ray's show last week, but a security guard who works for both shows recognized them and had them ejected.

A source, unfortunately, claims there's no real feud in the works, however.

"[The spies] were kicked out because they lied about their names. Otherwise they would have been welcome to stop by."

A Stewart spokesman says the quartet weren't asked to leave by the guard, but by one of Martha's former audience coordinators who now works for Ray. It all sounds a bit off. Does Stewart really need another riva, on top of Donald Trump?

And all her former cellmates that are still rotting away in prison.

A Straight Oprah to be First Guest on Rachael Ray Talk Show

What will Oprah Winfrey talk about when she helps to kick off the new Rachael Ray talk show next month? You'll have to tune in to find out - but expect a few references to how straight Gayle King's best friend is.

On August 3, Oprah made a surprise stop at the New York City set of Ray's show, where she hung out for the entire taping, met the audience, got a full tour of the set and shared some on-air coffee talk with Ray.

Oprah and Rachael

From there, Winfrey - who rarely appears on other people's shows - headed to the airport for a flight to South Africa, where she is working on her Leadership Academy for Girls, due to open in January.

Ray's hour-long syndicated program, The Rachael Ray Show, premieres September 18. The episode with Winfrey will air during its first week.

Don't expect an influx of celebrities on the program, however. Sorry, Kevin Federline, you'll have to go elsewhere to beg for attention. Ray, 36, says she expects guests, including her husband, lawyer and musician John Cusimano, to relax and get their hands dirty by cooking with her or playing foosball.

So, Rachael, what advice did Oprah offer?

"She tells me to be myself. She doesn't chime in or call up and say, 'This is how you can be more like Oprah.' She's pretty busy with her own job," Ray said.
