What's in a name? As it turns out, maybe everything.

Since Shakespeare first posited the question in Romeo and Juliet, actors have been using fake names to land professional roles. Not only did it allow them some semblance of privacy before the dawn of Wikipedia, but let's face it, some people just aren't born with great names.

Ella Maria Lani Yelich-O'Connor? Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta? Quite a mouthful.

If an actor or musician's entire career is dedicated to being someone else - a character or personality, perhaps - then a good stage name can go a long way to making that career explode.

More celebrities use pseudonyms than you might think. In fact, here are 67 stars who don't use their real names. Which ones did you know before viewing this gallery?

Lorde
Musical sensation Lorde was given the name Ella Maria Lani Yelich-O'Connor at birth. We'd probably go with Lorde, too.

Celebrities know about as much about perfume as kids know about walkmans.

Still, this hasn't prevented an onslaught of famous people from coming out with their own fragrances.

Everyone from boy band members to Material Girls to former Ray J sex tape partners have attached their names to specific scents.

These sponsored bottles cost more than the average cologne, but, hey, at least you can brag to your friends that you're wearing something Jennifer Lopez may have one given approval of. That's worth something...we guess.

Herewith, we present 17 Celebrity Fragrances That Probably Smell Terrible... and also cost a pretty penny.

Selena Gomez
This self-titled Selena Gomez perfume may leave you lusting after Justin Bieber. Consider yourself warned.

The 2014 Grammy Awards were full of powerhouse performances, but the most moving, by far, belonged to Macklemore & Ryan Lewis with Mary Lambert.

Their performance lit up L.A.'s Staples Center, and was made all the more stirring with Queen Latifah officiated 33 marriages, many of them same-sex.

As if that wasn't enough, Madonna, a champion of equality for decades, joined Macklemore, Ryan and Mary on their gay marriage anthem "Same Love."

Watch the powerful effort from the 2014 Grammy Awards winners, who received a thunderous ovation from the capacity crowd, for yourself below ...

Toward the end of the duo's hit, Madonna joined Mary Lambert to conclude the song with a mash-up of the “Same Love” chorus and “Open Your Heart.”

Queen Latifah joined the singers in unison, along with a gospel choir and horn aficionado Trombone Shorty amidst a backdrop of stained glass windows.

After introducing the performance, Latifah returned to the stage at the end to formally officiate 34 gay marriages in an incredibly emotional moment.

Thirty-four smiling couples exchanged rings in front of the arena audience, and 40 million viewers, as the ordained minister pronounced them married.

That's a hard act to tough ... even if you're Beyonce and Jay-Z and "Drunk in Love." What did you think of the performance? Tell us in the comments!

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis will be joined by Madonna at tonight's Grammy Awards for a rendition of their hit song "Same Love," and that's not nearly all:

While the hip hop duo performs their gay marriage anthem, 33 couples, many of them same-sex will marry in a collective, on-air wedding officiated by Queen Latifah.

Nominated for Song of the Year, and with marriage equality sparking intense national debate, "Same Love" was one of 2013's most talked-about records.

Lewis, the producer for Macklemore and the director of the music video (above), said the weddings “will be in our minds the ultimate statement of equality."

That, he says, is that "all the couples are entitled to the same exact thing.”

The segment follows what Grammy Awards organizers say is the ceremony's long, often profound history of addressing timely social issues through music.

During the same week when North Carolina residents passed a constitutional amendment that defines marriage exclusively between a man and a woman, it looks like Queen Latifah has decided to come out of the closet.

Rumors about the veteran star's sexual preference have been circulating for years, but now it appears she's chosen to end the speculation... by headlining this year's Long Beach Lesbian & Gay Pride Festival.

It takes place on May 19/20.

Said Pat Crosby, co-president of the event:

“From hip to R&B, pop to standards, Queen Latifah is the voice of our generation, and her concert here will be phenomenal. For her to make her worldwide Pride debut here in Long Beach is a tremendous testament to the popularity of our celebration and to the strength of our community.”

We recently reported about how Dancing With the Stars producers are under pressure from ABC to cast actual celebrities and fewer D-listers such as Bristol Palin, Kate Gosselin and The Situation. Well, today they landed ...

Effing Snooki.

Break out the furry boots and trucker hats (and Bruno's "1" paddle). Supposedly, the cast can pick its own costumes this fall. Our vote is for this:

We already know watching Snooki fall down face first is entertaining, and she is a pretty big name these days (even if you hate the reason why).

Queen Latifah and White Collar star Tiffani Thiessen are also on board, as well, giving the show more celebrities to balance out Rob Kardashian.

Dancing With the Stars is actively courting NBA players, given their lockout sitch, although it's unclear if any ballers have signed on as of yet.

Shawn Marion of the world champion Mavericks turned down DWTS this month. The season begins in September after Bachelor Pad concludes.

Thoughts on these new additions?

Queen Latifah is already a singer, actress, award ceremony host and television personality.

But the star apparently isn't busy enough, as she's announced an upcoming fashion line that will be sold on HLN.

“I’m so excited about it,” Latifah tells People. “This is something I have wanted to do for a very long time. I’ve been offered a lot of deals for clothing lines and actually started one that didn’t quite get off the ground but this is like a full circle moment for me.”

The Queen

A lover of hand bags, Latifah says those accessories will be "really good."

And HLN viewers will have a chance to purchase them, along with other items, on August 27. There will be "something for everyone," the Queen says.

It's important to remember: Queen Latifah is not actually royalty.

Still, this artist took it upon herself to give advice to Kate Middleton in a recent interview, telling Parade the princess-to-be must find a "sanctuary."

"Everybody in the world is going to be in your business," Latifah said. "He happened to be born a prince; you happened to go to college and meet him. You're two kids who fell in love. I just hope you have a happy life. And don't take anything personally."

Latifah will host this week's People's Choice Awards and also co-stars with Vince Vaughn in The Dilemma.

Where does she see herself in 10 years? "On cruise control, with a couple of kids under my belt," she says, adding:  "It's in the Lord's hands... I work a lot. I want to make sure I'm living life to the fullest."
