Pussycat Dolls Gossip (Page 3)

Pussycat Dolls May Split, Insider Says

Oh sweet PCD. I love when all six of y'all sing "Buttons" to me.

Every day. Sometimes twice.

The Pussycat Dolls are a radio staple these days, but the provocative all-girl group is on the verge of breaking up, according to a TV insider who claims one program tried to book them and discovered record bosses unsure if their next single wouldn't be the last.

Lead singer Nicole Scherzinger, 28, has fuelled speculation by recording with opera star Vittorio Grigolo. But PCD's spokesman insisted they were staying together, bonded by catchy-but-misspelled #1 hits "Don't Cha" and "Stickwitu," along with a love for all things slutty. PCD, the Gossip begs you to stay together.

If you break up, who else is going to distract my office with dirty, dirty thoughts at all hours of the day when we have the radio on? What are we supposed to do, watch the damn Screech sex tape? F*$k no. Please, Ashley, Nicole, Carmit, Jessica, Kimberly and Melody. Think of your fans and what your overtly sexual lyrics mean to them.

Stars who have performed with the Pussycat Dolls include Christina Aguilera, Charlize Theron, Gwen Stefani, Dita Von Teese, Brittany Murphy and Christina Applegate. Say a prayer tonight that this act of musical brilliance isn't fading away.

The Fabulous Pussycat Dolls

Mariah Carey Leads American Music Award Nominations

Hey, wanna receive numerous nominations for the American Music Awards? Just don't release an album.

That strategy seems to have paid off for Mariah Carey, who's last CD hit stores a year and a half ago. Nevertheless, for the second consecutive year, Mimi leads the nominations at the Dick Clark-produced trophyfest.

We Nominate Mariah

Carey, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Black Eyed Peas and Nickelback each snagged a field-best three nods for this year's event.

Mariah is once again up for Favorite Female Artist in both the Pop/Rock and Soul/Rhythm & Blues categories, as well as a nod for Favorite Album in the latter category.

Fergie and her fellow Peas are up for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album, along with Favorite Artist in both Rap/Hip-Hop and Soul/Rhythm & Blues.

Also racking up multiple nominations were virtually any artists who managed to score some airplay this year: Mary J. Blige, Kelly Clarkson, Eminem, Kanye West, Jamie Foxx, Rascal Flatts, T.I., Carrie Underwood and Pussycats Dolls all scored two nods apiece.

Underwood and the Pussycat Dolls will do battle with Chamillionaire in the redundantly named Favorite New Breakthrough Artist race.

Pussycat Dolls Tamed, Organizers Fined for Sexual Singers

Wait, the Pussycat Dolls dance explicitly and sing sexually charged lyrics?

What's next, Kevin Federline is sort of like white trash?

Malaysian authorities recently fined organizers of a concert by the chart-topping female group for allowing the singers to wear skimpy costumes and for their "sexually suggestive routines," a news report said Wednesday.

Here Pussycat ...

The Subang Jaya Municipal Council, which administers the suburb where the concert was held in late July, fined organizers Absolute Entertainment 10,000 ringgit ($2,714) for flouting decency regulations.

The Gossip isn't sure which is stranger: that Malaysia wasn't aware of what it was getting into with a band whose hits include "Don Cha" and "Buttons?" Or that its currency is known as a "ringgit?"

"The Pussycat Dolls were guilty of performing sexually suggestive routines on stage," council President Mohamad Arif Abdul Rahman said. "In terms of their eye-popping attire, well, there's a lot of proof of that from our sources and the media."

Eye-popping, jaw-dropping, pants-changing, however you wish to refer to the ladies' garb, it's a good thing the six-member group didn't roll out their next single, "Anal sex orgy" for any Muslim crowds in Malaysia as part of its global tour.

A spokesman for Absolute Entertainment, speaking on condition of anonymity, said they were meeting with council officials midday Wednesday. She declined to provide further details.

The government in this Southeast Asian nation had previously warned Western artistes not to be too "raunchy" so as not to offend local sensitivities when performing in Malaysia.

Sorry, Nicole, that means you'll have to leave the beef stick at home.

Come Join the Pussycat Dolls!

Sorry guys... this offer is just for the ladies. The Pussycat Dolls are looking for another pussycat... and are taking their search to live TV.

According to Variety, the CV has ordered eight episodes of The Search for the Next Pussycat Doll, which is shaping up like a raunchy, titillating hybrid of America's Next Top Model and American Idol. The show's purpose, in addition to drawing millions of ogling males, will be to help the crew recruit a new member.

Director McG, producer of the God-awful, supremely-overrated Fox teen hit The OC, is one of the show's creators. He's "interested in the personal drama...all the real-life stuff that lies within," he says. And getting a break from the horrendous OC.

The series, set to air next season, will feature a group of women seeking to become the seventh member of the Pussycat Dolls. The CW has said that certain elements of the series will be broadcast live. A national search will get under way immediately to find the contenders, who will compete under the guidance of Pussycat Dolls creator and founder Robin Antin.

The winner of the series will join the Dolls (below), whose current lineup consists of the lovely Ashley Roberts, Melody Thornton, Kimberly Wyatt, Nicole Scherzinger, Carmit Bachar and Jessica Sutta.

A Super Sextet

"At its core, this show goes beyond just finding a new Pussycat Doll; it's about female empowerment, self-discovery and personal transformation," said Dawn Ostroff, CW's president of entertainment.

Believe it or not, the Pussycat Dolls got their start nearly a decade ago as a burlesque troupe featuring a revolving group of dancers, including such celebrities as Carmen Electra, Christina Aguilera and Christina Applegate. Apparently, they prefer people whose names begin with the letter C.

Their debut album, PCD, has sold nearly 5 million copies worldwide since its release last September by A&M Records. The group also has performed on such shows as Fox's surprise summer hit So You Think You Can Dance and ABC's Dancing With the Stars.
