A couple in Missouri shared some huge news last week. Literally. Jessica Helmers, gave birth to a 13-pound, 8-ounce baby girl named Karsyn on Friday.

"I was tickled," said Jessica. "I still can't believe she weighed over 13 pounds."

Doctors confirmed it as well. Karsyn Raleigh Helmers was born and weighed in at 13 pounds, 8 ounces. She was delivered by c-section right on time.

The new father, Wesley Helmers, said he still can't believe the numbers.

"They called me in there and did all the other measurements," he said.

"They wanted me to see the weight and as soon as it said 13 pounds, 8 ounces I was like, 'Umm, how am I going to explain this one to the bunch.'"

A good question. As for Jessica, she says she's looking forward to arm workouts with Karsyn. That should help shed the baby weight quickly, if it's any consolation ...

If the following report is true, Octomom has met her match. An Iraqi woman in her 40s, who is already the mother of seven, is expecting 13 more babies.

Yes, she's pregnant with 13 babies. Six sets of twins plus one. A baker's dozen of buns in the proverbial oven. Thirteen fertilized eggs inside her, people!

Positive Preg. Test

The unnamed mom of seven is said to be in her early 40s. Octomom Nadya Suleman, for comparison, was in her mid-30s when she birthed children 7-14.

The woman's husband, Fadhil Al Azawi, a farmer from central Iraq's Salahuddin province, said medical tests and images clearly show(ed) 13 fetuses.

Is Kerry Washington pregnant? The Scandal star's flowing Emmys dress triggered the obligatory speculation on Twitter, but is it more than just a rumor?

Kerry's Marchesa gown and its empire waist hid her usually tiny figure, setting off a frenzy of “is she or isn’t she pregnant?” from Scandal fans on Twitter.

Rumors also circulated when Kerry married Nnamdi Asomugha in a private wedding in June and - some believe anyway - started hiding her figure.

Kerry’s petite body is normally shown in sexy, curve-hugging dresses, so if she opts for a looser, tummy-hiding style, it marks a change of style.

The gown also has a strappy detail over a gold bralette that emphasizes a fuller bustline than Kerry usually has. Perfect to disguise a baby bump.

Lea-Ann Ellison can squat, thrust and bench.

And she can also handle a torrent of online criticism.

The 35-year old has come under major fire for posting photos to Facebook of her lifting weights and conducting a CrossFit routine in the gym… while eight-and-half-months pregnant.

"8 months pregnant with baby number 3 and CrossFit has been my sanity," Ellison captioned the image.

"I have been CrossFitting for 2 1/2 years and ... strongly believe that pregnancy is not an illness, but a time to relish in your body's capabilities to kick ass."

Many Facebook users do not share this sentiment, however.

Photographer Ashlee Wells Jackson's "4th Trimester Bodies Project" is a photo series that embraces the changes brought to women’s bodies by motherhood.

The images are revealing in more ways than one.

Jackson hopes to shed light on cultural interpretations of female beauty and change women's expectations for themselves and those around them.

"This has been something that has felt a necessity in my mind for years now," she told The Huffington Post of the impetus behind the photo series.

"After coming out the other side of a very traumatic pregnancy and birth experience myself, I felt like it was finally time to make this project a reality."

Jackson explained further the personal passion that drove her:

Some pro-choice groups are reportedly not happy about a new set of subway advertisements by pro-life groups that they say are misleading to teens.

Several pro-choice advocates are speaking out against the New York City transportation ads from EMC Frontline Pregnancy Centers, a pro-life group.

The ads are simple and offer free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds and counseling, but it’s what they don’t say that is causing some issues and controversy.

Take a look below to see what the issue is:

Critics say the ads are misleading to young women because there is no direct access to health care provided, while opinions are presented as fact.

Andrea Miller, Executive Director of NARAL, told PIX11 that “Regardless of your views on this issue ... there should be truth in advertising here.”

Perhaps Teen Mom and Teen Mom 2 are becoming obsolete? The birth rate among teenagers hit a record low in 2012, government research shows.

There is evidence that a trend of more effective means of birth control is a factor, according to the National Center for Health Statistics at the CDC.

Watching Farrah Abraham and Jenelle Evans can't hurt, either.

The birth rate among young women ages 15 to 19 fell 6 percent last year, to 29.4 births per thousand, the lowest rate in the 73 years of data collection.

The decline was across all racial and ethnic groups.

While rushing to the hospital at 80 m.p.h., a Georgia mom delivered her baby in the front seat of the car, literally catching her inside the dress she had on.

She then tried to hide this fact so her husband, who was driving at breakneck speeds to the ER, wouldn't freak out and inadvertently wreck the car.

Katrena Leonard admits she probably waited a bit too long to head to the hospital and even scolding her newborn, "Kylie (the new baby's name), no!"

Her baby daughter, Leonard's third child, clearly had her own schedule as far as making a grand entrance into the world in the passenger seat.

Mom's wishes? Not high on Kylie's priority list.

Jessica Simpson knows a thing or two about being pregnant, and in a new interview, she weighed in on a couple of other famous new moms as well:

  1. Kim Kardashian, with whom she sympathizes
  2. Kate Middleton, who she's totes jealous of
