Let's face it: dogs are braver than humans.

They sprint full speed at brides on their wedding day. They survive a month alone in a car. And they enter the literal lion's den, thinking nothing of cleaning the teeth of these carnivorous predators.

Finally, the Internet has found a way to incorporate cats.

"Cat Bearding" is apparently a new meme these days. Basically, it entails people envisioning themselves with beards, only with frowning felines as the beard.

See below for visual evidence if that's at all unclear:

If that's not a purrfect web craze, we don't know what is.

Apparently, cat beards tend to make one look disgruntled. Grumpy Cat would be proud, if Grumpy Cat were to acknowledge such a positive concept.

We await the inevitable Taylor Swift cat bearing pic. Not 'cause we think Taylor Swift would look particularly great with a beard, she's just into cat stuff.

Dogs. They are considered Man's Best Friend.

But brides in wedding gowns who are walking back from showing off their dress to their grandmother on their very special day? More like a worst enemy.

In footage that first surfaced on America's Funniest Home Videos, we see an excited canine shake loose and go flying after his owner... who stands no chance of fleeing to safety in her bridal footwear:

In less funny but far more moving pet-related news, did you catch this video of an Oklahoma tornado survivor finding her dog?

It's only temporary.

That's what many sources reported - and what many fans hoped - after news broke that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart broke up over the weekend.

But Us Weekly has posted a photo of Pattinson in his pickup truck, belongings in the back, two dogs in the front, a sad look on his face... seemingly moving out of the Los Angeles home he shared with Kristen Stewart.

Rob and Kristen had been trying to make it work ever since the latter was caught cheating last year with Rupert Sanders.

Justin Bieber has lost ownership of his pet monkey.

As reported late last week, the singer had until midnight Friday to cover the costs of Mally after Germany customs seized the pet due to improper paperwork when Justin entered that country for a concert in March.

Bieber failed to do so and the little guy is now officially property of Germany.

Ian Somerhalder called Bieber out over the weekend, telling him to "set a good example" as a pet-owning role model.

Justin did not respond, but he does have six weeks to protect Germany's decision. In the meantime, Mally continues to reside at an animal shelter, while Bieber deals with a different kind of fallout:

He was booed at Sunday's Billboard Music Awards.

In a rare piece of good news following the devastation of Monday's Oklahoma tornado, an elderly woman found her dog alive under piles of debris.

Tornado Survivor Finds Dog Alive

While discussing the massive tornado that stormed through Moore, Okla., an Oklahoma City suburb, the woman said she'd been preparing for 45 years.

Her prayers were then answered while the cameras rolled as she stumbled upon her dog, buried but alive, during her interview with CBS' Anna Werner.

If only every person and pet were so lucky.

The death toll of this extreme weather disaster is already high - at least 24 people, including 9 children, are dead - and almost guaranteed to rise in coming days.

Our thoughts are with the victims, the survivors and their families.

More bad news today for Justin Bieber.

On the heels of being named the most unfavorable singer in the country, Bieber has been told he must shell out a few thousand dollars if he ever wants to see his pet monkey again.

In March, German custom officials in Munich quarantined the animal because it was illegal to bring him into the country. He's been residing in a local shelter for the past two months.

You often hear anecdotes of animals being able to experience and express humanlike emotions, and we sometimes see signs of this in our own pets.

This would be one of those times.

Eva Armstrong, a director of Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue, heads a volunteer-run rescue group that has saved more than 800 dogs to date.

On a recent trip to a high-kill "shelter" in Alabama, volunteers rescued a dachshund they named Captain Morgan because he had only one eye.

The night he was rescued, Captain Morgan slept at the foot of Eva's hotel bed. She took care of him until he was adopted by a family months later.
