One of our favorite, most underrated celebrity couples got married over the weekend.

Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard tied the proverbial knot at a small chapel near Rome, Italy on Saturday.

"We are happy to confirm that Maggie and Peter were married on Saturday, May 2," the actress' rep told Us Weekly.

The pair has been dating for seven years. They announced their engagement in April 2006 and are the parents to two-year old daughter Ramona.

The wedding was a small affair, as approximately 40 guests attended the event. Included among them, as you might expect, were Maggie's brother, Jake Gyllenhaal, and his famous girlfriend, Reese Witherspoon.

As adorable as these celebrity couples are with their babies, a new pair of contenders has emerged for the title of Cutest New Family.

We'll begin with Peter Sarsgaard and Maggie Gyllenhaal (right).

Please don't punish them - or their tyke, Ramona - just because they have difficult names to spell.

Does that make the couple any less in love? Think about it.

She may not as well known as Suri Cruise, but the kid sure is a looker.

Tobey Maguire is having a lot of fun with her. Hopefully, he's teaching her all about the evil ways of the Green Goblin, as well.

Finally, Maguire's finacee, Jennifer Meyer, is looking away from the camera in this shot (below). That may be a good thing, though.

We love kids here at T.H. Gossip. All of them.

But there's no doubt certain celeb spawn dominate the press. Suri Cruise is huge (and Asian). Every move of Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt is fawned over. And the fact that the identity of Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern's daddy is still in question does little to quell the fascination with that little bundle of joy.

That said, here's one of the celebrity babies we definitely don't see enough of. With fiancé Peter Sarsgaard at the Sundance Film Festival to promote their short film High Falls, Maggie Gyllenhaal and 3-month-old daughter Ramona kick back at Sunday brunch with a pal.

Wow, she's a cutie. We love Sarsgaarenhaal.

Where's little baby Ramona? Hiding behind all those crazy Gyllenhaals! Dad Peter Sarsgaard shielded the 2-week-old under his coat while out and about with fiancée Maggie Gyllenhaal and her mom, Naomi Foner, and her brother, Jake Gyllenhaal, in New York City's West Village on Sunday.

When he's not looking at other women's vaginas, Sarsgaard is content to play dad and hang out with Maggie's fam. When he's not chilling with BFF Lance Armstrong, Jake is content to settle for Peter Sarsgaard.

Peter Sarsgaard is not going to be homeless.

The Garden State star, fiancee Maggie Gyllenhaal and their newborn baby, Ramona, were about to be evicted from their New York City apartment after a dispute with their landlords. The young family faced eviction from their $5,000-a-month pad in downtown Manhattan after two of the three owners of her building argued they didn't have a valid lease.

The owners began eviction proceeding against Sarsgaard and Gyllenhaal back in February, claiming her lease wasn't valid because it had only been signed by the third owner of the apartment.

Gyllenhaal, 28, filed an affidavit reading:

"I am residing in the subject premises pursuant to a lease duly executed by one of the owners of the subject premises."

Manhattan Civil Court Judge Marc Finkelstein agreed, noting that "she has paid and continues to pay all the rent under that lease."

The sister of Jake Gyllenhaal moved into the apartment in 2005, and has the option to stay through the end of 2007, but the lengthy dispute has apparently convinced the couple it is high time they moved on.

Maggie and Peter, also known as Gyllenhaarsgaard, have reportedly signed a contract to buy a townhouse in Brooklyn, N.Y.

The Gossip has learned that Maggie Gyllenhaal gave birth to her first child yesterday in a New York area hospital at about 8 p.m. Maggie and her fiancee / baby's daddy, Peter Sarsgaard, welcomed a little girl to their cute household.

Maggie and Peter decided to name their daughter Ramona Sarsgaard. Ramona was born around 8 p.m. at a NYC hospital. The newborn's arrival came two weeks before Maggie's expected delivery.

This is the first child for Maggie, 28, and Peter, 35. Congratulations to the new parents. These are definitely going to be the best celebrity baby pictures ever. Somebody get Vanity Fair on the phone, ASAP!

Hey, we just call it like we see it at The Gossip. And for Peter Sarsgaard, the "it" he was accidentally seeing a few months ago involved another woman's private parts.

This story may need some explaining, huh?

Sarsgaard's better, pregnant half, Maggie Gyllenhaal dropped by the Late Show with David Letterman on Friday to talk about her impending baby. Let's just review the exchange that followed:

Dave: "Your husband, is he … How's he handling the pregnancy? Is he nervous? Is he excited? Is he … well, it's a combination of both, of course, isn't it?"

Maggie: "How is he handling it? Well, the very first time that we went to meet our OB, he walked in on her examining someone else."

Dave: "Can you do that? ‘I'm just looking around.'"

Maggie: "He seemed kind of like Ben Stiller in a Ben Stiller movie when he came back in. Yeah, he went to put some quarters in our meter, and he was just this excited new dad, and he rushed into the room, and he saw some other woman's feet in the stirrups. Like Ben Stiller or Hugh Grant, he had that kind of romantic comedy quality."

Dave: "I wish I had thought of that."
