Pete Doherty, the chronic alcohol and drug user and part-time lead singer of British band Babyshambles, has been sent to jail for 14 weeks.
The reason? For violating probation and ... using drugs. There are only so many times you can get arrested and stay out of jail, turns out.
A former boyfriend of Kate Moss, Pete Doherty has a history of being a jackass and was given a suspended sentence in October for drug possession and DUI.
Pete Doherty is behind bars. Unfortunately, he'll be out pretty soon.
He then missed an appointment with his probation team, which resulted in his new sentence. Somewhere, Mitch Winehouse is loving this.
Hopefully possible girlfriend Portia Freeman won't miss him too bad.
Same for recently de-virginized, possible baby-mama Laura McLaughlin.

While the 20-year old goddaughter of Manchester United owner Alex Ferguson is steadfast in her claims, we have two reasons to doubt this story's validity:
According to McLaughlin's account in the British tabloid, "the baby is Peter's. There is no doubt about that. I was a virgin when I met Peter and when we had sex. He knows about the baby. I told him I was pregnant the moment I found out."

The knocked up Brit went on to describe Kate Moss' ex as a "laid back lover," while also explaining how he allegedly left a bun in her oven:
"[After a condom broke], we continued to have sex regardless as it was the last condom we had," McLaughlin said, adding that the relationship was about more than mere intercourse. "But our weekend together wasn't just about sex. We cuddled up to watch the movie Dirty Dancing together and we had many deep and meaningful conversations. It felt like Peter was my boyfriend."
Vials of cocaine have felt the same way for years.
Portia Freeman has been described as the next Kate Moss.
And the 19-year old model is well on her way to confirming that status, as The Daily Mail reports that she's dating crazy drug user Pete Doherty, Moss' ex-boyfriend.
According to a source at the newspaper:
"Portia is probably the best thing to happen to Pete. She is a very clean-living girl and not at all into drugs. He really enjoys spending time with Portia. They love walking across the fields of the country estate where Pete rents a house."
Are Peter Doherty and Portia Freeman a new couple? We'd ask Pete ourselves, but he's probably too high to know the answer.

Now that her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, is in jail, Amy Winehouse seems to be spending more time with Pete Doherty - and her father is not happy.
In fact, seeing the often-arrested Babyshambles singer out with his daughter made dad Mitch Winehouse go berzerk, he admitted to Grazia magazine.
"I do worry about people like Pete Doherty. He's a scumbag," a distraught Mitch Winehouse said. "I flipped when I saw him sitting with Amy backstage at her Brixton gig. I went crazy. My wife thought I was going to have a heart attack."
Some sources reported that Pete Doherty was present when Amy Winehouse overdosed on drugs in August. Regardless, they are hanging out a lot nowadays.
The diminutive jazz-pop diva, 24, has struggled mightily since her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, was arrested for alleged witness tampering in November.
She also canceled all 2007 shows, and mother Janis Winehouse wrote an open letter published by the media, begging Amy to come home and get clean.
"I know the real problem here is that she's depressed about [Blake Fielder-Civil] being in prison," Mitch Winehouse said. "I wasn't in favor of the marriage, but they are married and I will support them. And he's shown while he's been in prison a level of maturity that he didn't have before."
While admitting to the magazine that Amy is "not very well," Mitch Winehouse said he can't force his daughter - who was recently nominated for six Grammy Awards for her smash hit album, Back to Black - into rehab.
"Believe me, my first instinct is to get hold of her, pick her up and take her back to my house and lock her away," he said. "But I've spoken to the finest drug counselors in the world, and they've said that is exactly the wrong thing to do."

That's how long since The Hollywood Gossip published a story about "rocker" Pete Doherty staying clean and turning over a new leaf with Irina Lazareanu - today, we learn that new photos of Doherty using heroin have surfaced.
Record company reps for Pete Doherty apologized and issued a statement in an attempt to shame the Babyshambles singer into sobriety. It was just Tuesday that the troubled star spoke out about missing drugs, but said he was clean.
The letter reads:
"Pete Doherty would like to apologize to the medical staff, fans and well-wishers who have helped and encouraged him in fighting his addiction to heroin. His ongoing rehabilitation was a source of such pride to him that Peter and those closest to him thought that he was close to winning his personal battle with drugs. However, Peter sadly relapsed last week and is now looking to check himself back into a rehab clinic so that he can try to continue the hitherto excellent attempts he had made to break free of heroin. He realizes that he has not only let himself down but has let down those who trusted and encouraged his efforts and he is filled with remorse for what he describes today as, 'a stupid, stupid action for which I feel only shame.'"
It is indeed sad. Here's hoping that those close to Pete - including ex Kate Moss and her new boyfriend Jamie Hince - stick by him in this time of need.
After an arduous period of on-and-off-again romance and hard-ass drug use, the British "rocker" Pete Doherty says he is now clean, he and Irina Lazareanu are in love, and he and ex Kate Moss are becoming friends again.
"She's a friend, but people are going to say what they want about it," the frontman of Babyshambles, 28, told Us Weekly regarding Moss at the MTV European Music Awards in Munich November 1. "She's really happy now, and so am I."
Pete Doherty â" who has been in and out of rehab centers and courts countless times in the past few years â" said he is now off the drugs. We'll believe that around the time Britney Spears starts caring about her kids.Â

"They were talking about music, and Snoop was saying how he wanted to add an indie feel to a few of his tracks," an onlooker said. "Pete was saying he should get in touch with his manager to see if they can work something out."

According to recent reports, none other than the great Pete Doherty was there when Amy Winehouse overdosed on drugs last week, an incident which led to her running through the streets, bloodied, crazy and almost dying and stuff.
Minutes before Amy Winehouse was rushed to the hospital, Pete Doherty hit the road! Foolz didn't want to get caught up in that mess, we guess.
The two apparently had dinner with her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, that night, then went back to the Wino's pad for their version of an after-dinner "cocktail" - you know, a speedball of heroin and cocaine. Standard operating procedure.
"She collapsed when they went back to her flat. Pete left because he didn't want any bad publicity," says a source close to the pair. "He didn't know how to deal with it and thought she was dying. She was foaming at the mouth and fitting... Pete had never seen anything like it."
He has seen Kate Moss nude, though, and Pete Doherty is also rumored to have done the nasty with Amy Winehouse. Whether he remembers is another matter.
Yikes. Just pray that Winehouse doesn't get knocked up anytime soon. If you thought an Amy-Blake baby would be all kinds of screwed up, just think about the poor, afflicted offspring of Winehouse and Pete Doherty! Petehouse! God help us all.
