Judging by the colossal ratings for Once Upon a Time's season premiere last night, audiences are being sucked into the world of Disney's Frozen once again.

Ever since it was announced back in spring that the show would feature storylines based on the animated musical smash, fan interest in OUAT has been at an all-time high.

The casting of Georgiana Haig as Queen Elsa in June generated controversy. (Most fans approved, but some had been pushing for Elsa lookalike and Internet celeb Anna Faith Carlson).

But we doubt producers' decision to cast Tyler Jacob Moore's as Hans will provoke will be the subject of much debate.

It was made very clear on Sunday evening:

Television fans chose not to watch TV online, especially not on ABC or Fox.

The Once Upon a Time Season 4 premiere, which brought the world of Frozen into the world of Storybrooke, saw a 31 percent increase in viewership compared to the Season 3 opener:

Overall, 9.4 million households tuned in, while the episode earned a strong 3.4 rating among 18-49-year olds.

Elsewhere, the Family Guy-Simpsons crossover shattered records for this animated hit, as 8.4 million people tuned in to the Season 13 premiere. That's a 73 percent uptick from last September's opener.

Is it cold in here? Or was it Once Upon a Time Season 4 Episode 1?

The wildly premiere of this ABC drama aired last night, bringing with it very special appearance by Queen Elsa and her sister Anna, both of Frozen fame.

So, was all the build-up worthwhile? Let's dig in, shall we?

Via flashback we see Elsa and Anna’s parents (King Agdar and Queen Idun, looking JUST like they did on the big screen) on their fateful voyage to, we presume, the Northern Isles.

Prior to the ship making like the Titanic, Idun writes a message-in-a-bottle to the couple’s daughters, insisting to her husband, telling her husband that the kids “must know.”

Fast forward five years and Elsa and Anna are visiting their parents’ tombstones when Elsa lightens the mood with a surprise for the bride-to-be: their mom's wedding gown. However, as Anna tries it on, Elsa finds their mother’s diary, which implies it was Elsa’s fault that they took that ill-fated voyage.

Is it cold in here? Or is it the new poster for Once Upon a Time Season 4?

ABC has unveiled a new promotional photo for fresh episodes of its fairy tale-based hit, and it features Georgina Haig in the iconic role of Queen Elsa.

Yes, that Queen Elsa, the one from Frozen.

This Disney character will be joined by Anna and Kristoff this fall on Once Upon a Time, though little else is known about how they'll interact with our heroes and heroines of Storybrooke.

We'll need to wait until Sunday, September 28 to find out. But pretty cool poster, isn't it?

With all due respect to George R.R. Martin and Games of Thrones, winter is coming...

Is it cold in here? Or is it just Once Upon a Time Season 4?

As previously announced, the ABC hit will feature a number of characters from Disney's animated smash Frozen this fall, with Georgina Haig coming on board as Elsa and Scott Michael Foster as Kristoff.

Look for the television story to pick up some time after events in the movie, with Anna (Elizabeth Lail) set to marry Foster's ice merchant.

ABC, meanwhile, has released a number of pictures from Once Upon a Time Season 4 Episode 1, which will be aptly titled "A Tale of Two Sisters" and which will at at 8/7c on Sunday, September 28.

Click around now and get your first looks at Haig and Foster (and a reindeer as Sven!) in these Season 4 premiere photos:

When word spread that Georgina Haig was cast as Elsa on Once Upon a Time, millions of obsessive Frozen fans wondered if the Fringe actress would be up to the task of embodying Disney's icy queen with the golden pipes.

Well, it looks like it's time to let it go, everyone. Elsa is clearly in good hands:

Georgina Haig as Elsa

That's Georgina as Elsa and while she may not be a natural Elsa lookalike like Anna Faith Carlson, it's amazing what the right hair and costuming can accomplish.

The series teased last season that Elsa would be prominently featured in Once Upon a Time season four. It's been hinted that Elsa will be Storybrooke's main villain, but little has been confirmed about what sort of role Haig will actually play.
