While Manny Ramirez serves a 50-game suspension for violating baseball's drug policy, the Los Angeles Dodgers are still comfortably in first place by 8.5 games in the N.L. West. Nevertheless, they are now lacking a bit in luster and buzz.

Fortunately, this being Los Angeles, it's fairly easy for them to ramp up the star power factor at Dodger Stadium, albeit only for the ceremonial first pitch.

Matthew McConaughey, Whitney Port, Snoop Dogg, Kim Kardashian & Krew and plenty of others have taken the hill recently, with more surely to follow.

With the amount of famous faces taking the still to start their games these days, L.A. could fill an entire lineup with celebrities. That lineup could probably beat the San Francisco Giants, too. Bengie Molina hits cleanup for them!

We're sorry, Michael Bolton.

We know this is no time for kidding around, since you and Nicollette Sheridan have just nixed your own engagement. But we will always associate you only with Office Space quotes. Sorry man. You should see the movie, it's great.

Anyway, Nicolette Sheridan and Michael Bolton have been engaged since March 2006, and together since 2005, and previous from 1992-1997 (dude is kinda old) but all of that unwed bliss was apparently plenty for them.

"We haven't decided where, and as soon as we make that decision it will happen very quickly," Sheridan recently told the U.K.'s Mail on Sunday.

Sadly for the Desperate Housewives star, it was not to be.

Actress Nicollette Sheridan had a bitter rivalry going with some of her co-stars on Desperate Housewives, according to her ex-fiancé.

Niklas Soderblom, a Swedish-born actor and trainer Sheridan dumped in 2005 to reconnect with lame singer Michael Bolton, is out trying to find a publisher for a new tell-all book about Nicollette Sheridan.

He is angry and ready to tell her secrets.

"It was a competition," Niklas Soderblom said of her relationship with co-stars Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross and Eva Longoria.

"She was a middle-aged woman in Hollywood and deep down I am sure she sees Desperate Housewives as her last big break," he wrote.

"When she landed the role of Edie in Desperate Housewives, it was initially only going to be for a few episodes. She was stressed-out," he said.

But even after she was hired as a series regular and delivered funny Desperate Housewives quotes week after week, Sheridan never felt part of the cast.

"[Nicollette Sheridan] was devastated when posters for the show showed the other four women, but not her... She started crying. She said she was sure the producers intended to ditch her character. She exploded," Niklas Soderblom says.

"She screamed: 'Don't you get it? Haven't you seen the new posters? Teri, Marcia, Felicity, Eva.... but no Nicollette,'"he quoted her as saying. "'Do you get it? No Nicollette. They don't give a -- about me. It's like I don't exist.'"

Nicollette Sheridan and Niklas Soderblom reportedly were involved in a year-and-a-half relationship that started before the series began.

Sheridan, 44, is currently expecting her first child with Michael Bolton, according to several news sources, on the set of the successful ABC show.

So far, she has refused to confirm the reports. Sheridan and the "When a Man Loves a Woman" singer are engaged but no date for a wedding is set.

Michael Bolton may be - to borrow a classic Office Space quote - a no-talent ass clown. But the man wins Grammys - and once had the thinning, long, curly-hair down to a science.

Heck, he's even engaged to Desperate Housewives cougar Nicollette Sheridan ... whose stock plummeted once we learned she's engaged to Michael Bolton, but who is nonetheless hot.

Perhaps trying to avoid widespread ridicule, Bolton plays it safe - looking to see if the coast is clear - before heading out of the hot West Hollywood restaurant Koi last week.

We can only hope for more Michael Bolton sightings in the future. If nothing else, it inspires us to toss his 1991 classic album Time, Love & Tenderness into the CD player. Man. For our money it doesn't get any better than when he sings "When a Man Loves a Woman."

Not really. But anyone who gives us a reprieve from Lindsay Lohan is all good.
