Rachel Poole, 31, was stabbed by an intruder in her Texas home last week while chatting on video with her military husband, who is deployed overseas.

Poole was nine months pregnant at the time she was stabbed from behind multiple times by Corey Bernard Moss, who attacked with a stainless steel knife.

During the attack, her husband, Justin Pele Poole, an American soldier stationed thousands of miles away in Asia, saw the attack unfold on FaceTime.

Poole was still in critical condition when her baby, Isabella, was born. Doctors performed a successful cesarean section, her stepfather, Gary Jones, said.

The newborn, thankfully, is listed in good condition.

Police Det. Mike Baranyay told the media that the woman recognized her attacker, who was hiding in the home, and screamed his name to her husband.

Parents know that going out to restaurant with small children can be tough. It can be great in that you don't have to cook, but it's always a challenge.

At its best, it's hectic, with more wrangling, cleaning, and wiping up going on actual eating. At worst, if the kids act up, it can be stressful and disruptive.

If you happen to be a single parent of three kids, including two who have special needs, you can multiply all of those concerns several times over.

Take the case of one mom, who wishes to remain nameless and has been taking her kids out to a new restaurant every Friday for the last few years.

During one of those meals out recently, she nervously apologized in advance for the noise her family to a man who was sitting nearby. But he didn't mind.

In fact, he paid for her family's meal and left her a note that brought her to tears. Any parent who reads it after the jump may join her in that regard:

Halloween may have been yesterday, but that won't stop us from sharing a good ghost story today.

Sarah Adleta, an Oviedo, Fla., woman convicted of making child pornography with her husband and two kids, has been sentenced to 54 years in prison.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Adleta and her husband, Jonathan Adleta, "made having sex with their two children a part of their parenting plan."

Prosecutors say she continued the abuse even after they divorced.

Mug Shots

Sarah Adleta pleaded guilty to two child-sex related charges back in May and was a witness against her ex-husband in his criminal trial, the paper reported.

She testified that Jonathan Adleta, a former Marine who had served in Afghanistan, made “daddy-daughter sex" a condition of their getting married.

Federal investigators will probe the death of Georgia teen Kendrick Johnson, whose body was found rolled up in a gym mat at his high school in January.

U.S. Attorney Michael Moore said in a news conference in Macon, Ga., Thursday that the FBI and federal prosecutors were now involved in the mysterious case.

The local sheriff had closed the case, calling it a a freak accident. Johnson’s parents, however, have said they suspect their 17-year-old son was murdered.

They waged a public battle to reopen the case, alleging a cover-up by officials.

"I am of the opinion that a sufficient basis exists to conduct a formal review of the facts and investigation surrounding the death of Kendrick Johnson," Moore said.

The Theta Xi fraternity at the University of Michigan has had their social privileges revoked during an investigation into a party they planned and advertised on Facebook.

Their theme? "Hood Ratchet Thursday." No, we're not joking. Even Julianne Hough could've told them this was a bad idea.

Theta Xi Throws Ratchet Party

Students of color at U of M who saw the invitation circulating on Facebook complained to University administration about the racial overtones of the party.

They believe the party parodied black culture, was intended to belittle, and was maliciously intended.

Theta Xi brothers have said the fraternity will not be commenting on the matter.
