Death is no laughing matter, let's get that out of the way right now.

To those who have been living under a rock for the past few days... we hope it's a really warm rock.

But this just in: it's cold outside. Really cold. Downright freezing, in fact, due to a weather phenomenon known as a Polar Vortex.

What is that, exactly? Watch the following video for details, but all that really matters is this: it's pretty much the exact opposite of Kate Upton.

How are celebrities handling such weather, which is affecting nearly every region of the country? Let's find out, Twitter style...

Joan Rivers: It is so cold here in New York, this morning while my dog was licking himself, his tongue froze to his crotch.

Jimmy Kimmel: A #PolarVortex sounds like something Mr. Freeze would use to destroy Gotham City… or a new flavor of Powerade.

Steve Martin: I'd like to apologize for calling Polar Vortex winter. It's actually more of a spring.

So... what did you do in 2013?

Photographer Kent Frost attended some weddings… suffered through an ice storm in May… watched the Boston Marathon bombing… and welcomed his first child into the world.

The latter event took place on November 14 and it became the centerpiece for the back half of this amazing video, which is comprised of one second of each day of last year.

It's a very cool idea for a video and it proves that a newborn takes over all aspects of one's life. Sit back and relive Frost's 2013 now:

There was a lot to wonder about on New Year's Eve this week.

For example: What the heck was Miley Cyrus wearing?!?

But a few folks on the other side of the country were more concerned about what they saw in the sky Wednesday night… and we aren't talking about fireworks.

Simply put, Marc McCabe and an unnamed friend videotaped the following sighting and are convinced it's a UFO:

Moreover, ABC News says there were a "flurry of reports by civilians" of unidentified flying objects, with one individual telling the station he saw "six bright orange colored lights in a diamond or triangle shape."

He added: "It was weird."

Sounds that way!

Study the above footage now and decide: UFO? Or UF... NO!

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un reportedly executed his uncle and a handful of the man’s aides by feeding them to a horde of 120 starving dogs.

Jang Song Thaek, the former #2 official in the regime, is believed to have been stripped naked and tossed into a cage along with five others.

According to the Straits Times of Singapore:

“Then 120 hounds, starved for three days, were allowed to prey on them until they were completely eaten up. This is also called ‘quan jue’, or execution by dogs."

It's called insanity if that's true.

The news of the execution first surfaced in description a Hong Kong newspaper that serves as the official mouthpiece of China’s government there.

However, more established outlets in mainland China have not repeated the account, for whatever that's worth. The account continues as such:
