Director Vows: New Moon Will Make You Cry!

When fans start streaming into movie theaters for the opening of New Moon later this month, they'll undoubtedly bring high expectations with them.

Director Chris Weitz says audiences may also want to carry a box of tissues.

"We've tried our best to deliver on the romantic scenes in the film, and I would like to be able to produce more tears than any movie before, if possible," Weitz told People this week.

Good luck topping Titantic, New Moon! We're still drying our eyes from Jack's heroic sinking into the ice cold ocean at the conclusion of that epic. Fortunately, his heart will go on... and on...

In Italy

Weitz also said he admires how well the young cast is handling the constant media attention on their personal and professional lives. (For example, did you hear that Robsten broke up?!?)

"What I've realized is that they have a very tough job – not just playing the characters that they play, but living lives that are now very much under scrutiny all the time," he said. "They're smart kids... they've got good heads on their shoulders. They'll be all right."

Over the last few weeks, as we inch closer to November 20, more and more pictures from the movie have been released. View them all now in our New Moon photo gallery!

New Moon Trailer: All About Bella

You're a human who knows entirely too much about vampires.

So Alice warns Bella at the outset of the latest New Moon trailer, as the preview goes on to showcase...

  • Dakota Fanning as Volturi member Jane;
  • Jacob (Taylor Lautner) as a werewolf;
  • Edward (Robert Pattinson) as the only one that "will risk everything for her."

New Moon, of course, comes out on November 20. Find out where you can meet cast members from the movie before then and check out this new promo below:

New Moon Clip of the Day: Meet the Volturi

Yesterday, New Moon fans got acquainted with Jacob as a werewolf.

In the latest clip from the Twilight sequel, meanwhile, we get to know an even more dangerous set of characters: the Volturi.

Below, Aro (Michael Sheen) sets the scene, as the vampire coven speaks on Bella's fate. When Edward (Robert Pattinson) tries to interfere, the strength of the Volturi is on full display...

From trailers to clips to behind-the-scenes interviews with stars from the movie, visit our New Moon video section now. Scroll through the options listed and get yourself more excited than ever for November 20.

New Moon TV Spot: Jacob vs. Edward!

When forever ends, a new legend begins...

So teases the New Moon trailer below, which will start airing across television networks this week.

In the Jacob-centric preview, Bella's BFF transforms into a werewolf and lunges at Edward (Robert Pattinson). As a result, Bella must step between the two men in her life.

Also included below are scenes from the wolfpack's attack on vampires Victoria and Laurent, as Jacob tells Bella: "We only kill who we're trying to protect you from."

But that doesn't include Edward... does it? Movie goers will find out on November 20.

Taylor Lautner, as Jacob, is actually featured far more prominently in the film than Pattinson's Edward. But co-star Jackson Rathbone told MTV this month that viewers won't be disappointed.

"I think people are going to be really blown away by his performance," he said. "You have these great moments that Jacob just completely is winning over Bella. And it's just beautiful to see it."

We can't wait to see for ourselves.

Eclipse Cast: Preyed on by Paparazzi, Trapped by Tourists

If you think the Volturi is bad, or that the Wolfpack is dangerous, Twilight Saga fans must prepare for the most terrifying villains of all: themselves!

According to reports, followers of the franchise are coming from all ends of the globe to get a glimpse of the cast filming Eclipse in Vancouver, and no one involved in the movie is happy about it.

"Everyone calls them the Vultures," an insider told E! News, referring to disrespectful onlookers. "The cast hates, hates, hates them. The Vultures actually stalk [the cast] - hunt down every set location and hide out in order to record them everywhere they go off set. It's become unmanageable."

Not every fan qualifies as a Vulture, of course. But there's a reason we've seen so few Robert Pattinson pictures these days.

"Literally [Rob and Kristen] have no choice but to stay inside," the source added.

Fortunately, while few on-set pics exist, a number of New Moon stills have been leaked online. Here are the latest:

Due to the rush of paparazzi and unruly fans in Vancouver, there's a good chance producers will find a new shooting location for Breaking Dawn.

While those close to the projects are grateful for the support, many fans just gotta chill.

"These kids are just trying to film a damn movie; [we] wish the world could let them," said someone on set.

OMFG! New Moon Clip of the Day: Jacob Goes Werewolf!

Attention, New Moon fans currently covering your feet:

Prepare for some cold toes... because the video below will knock your socks off!

In a newly-released clip from the Twilight Saga sequel, Taylor Lautner introduces a major scene from the film: Jacob's transformation into a werewolf, as the character comes to Bella's rescue.

While previous New Moon trailers have only showed snippets of scenes from the movie, this is the first extended look at a significant development in it.

We hope and pray the studio doesn't force YouTube to remove the clip, as it will merely build more excitement for the blockbuster. If that's even possible, of course...

As readers of the Twilight Saga novels know, Lautner's Jacob plays a prominent role in New Moon. Even more so than Robert Pattinson's Edward.

Based on the video above, though, we're confident he can pull it off. We can't wait for November 20. Can you?!?

More New Moon Stills, Secrets from the Set

The New Moon publicity machine is in overdrive.

With a little more than a month to go until the second Twilight Saga film is released on November 20, expect Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and company to pop up on magazine covers, TV shows and radio interviews galore.

You won't mind, will you?

Tomorrow, for example, People releases a special issue dedicated to New Moon. It features a slew of new photos from the movie, as well as comments from various cast and crew members.

Bella and Jacob Photo

Let's take a look at what those associated with the surefire blockbuster have to say about it...

Director Chris Weitz, on the tone of New Moon: “Twilight is about first love; New Moon is about heartbreak. That requires the actors to go to some very dark places. There is more Edward in the film. Viewers will see him more often than Bella sees him in the book.”

Taylor Lautner on Team Jacob: “I get nervous trying to represent Team Jacob in the right way. This guy [Robert] is some pretty good competition. The fans would love anybody who played Jacob. I’m just lucky to be the one who got the chance.”

Pattinson on Edward: “When I read Twilight, and there are these moony descriptions of Edward as a godlike figure, I thought there was no way I could play him. But when I got in the room with Kristen, there was a certain chemistry. She’s basically the reason I did the movie.”

Ashley Greene on the fans: “Kellan Lutz and I look at each other and go, ‘What is going on? This is so insane!’ It’s very different from anything that I’ve experienced. But the fans are so passionate. Seriously, this is the coolest job in the world with the best fans.”

New Moon: On Twitter!

The Hollywood Gossip is not too proud to admit: we may now be the second most popular Twitter destination on the Internet.

This sad news comes on the heels of the announcement that New Moon has officially opened an account (@Twilight) on the social networking system.

While THG offers the most insightful, humorous, jarring celebrity gossip stories on the Web (Seriously. Follow us today.), we can't compete with exclusive shots from the most anticipated movie of the year.

Earlier today, for example, this TwitPic of Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner flirting, while Robert Pattinson looks on menacingly, was released by the film's Twitter handler:

Angry Ed

Also, New Moon director Chris Weitz has told fans that his movie will run for two hours and 10 minutes. Will this be enough time to drool over Robsten in all its glory? It will have to be.

Until Eclipse comes out, that is. And Breaking Dawn. And the next supermarket tabloid that lies about how far along Kristen Stewart is in her pregnancy.
