Attention, New Moon fans currently covering your feet:

Prepare for some cold toes... because the video below will knock your socks off!

In a newly-released clip from the Twilight Saga sequel, Taylor Lautner introduces a major scene from the film: Jacob's transformation into a werewolf, as the character comes to Bella's rescue.

While previous New Moon trailers have only showed snippets of scenes from the movie, this is the first extended look at a significant development in it.

We hope and pray the studio doesn't force YouTube to remove the clip, as it will merely build more excitement for the blockbuster. If that's even possible, of course...

As readers of the Twilight Saga novels know, Lautner's Jacob plays a prominent role in New Moon. Even more so than Robert Pattinson's Edward.

Based on the video above, though, we're confident he can pull it off. We can't wait for November 20. Can you?!?

The New Moon publicity machine is in overdrive.

With a little more than a month to go until the second Twilight Saga film is released on November 20, expect Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and company to pop up on magazine covers, TV shows and radio interviews galore.

Smiling!

You won't mind, will you?

Tomorrow, for example, People releases a special issue dedicated to New Moon. It features a slew of new photos from the movie, as well as comments from various cast and crew members.

Let's take a look at what those associated with the surefire blockbuster have to say about it...

Director Chris Weitz, on the tone of New Moon: “Twilight is about first love; New Moon is about heartbreak. That requires the actors to go to some very dark places. There is more Edward in the film. Viewers will see him more often than Bella sees him in the book.”

Taylor Lautner on Team Jacob: “I get nervous trying to represent Team Jacob in the right way. This guy [Robert] is some pretty good competition. The fans would love anybody who played Jacob. I’m just lucky to be the one who got the chance.”

Pattinson on Edward: “When I read Twilight, and there are these moony descriptions of Edward as a godlike figure, I thought there was no way I could play him. But when I got in the room with Kristen, there was a certain chemistry. She’s basically the reason I did the movie.”

Ashley Greene on the fans: “Kellan Lutz and I look at each other and go, ‘What is going on? This is so insane!’ It’s very different from anything that I’ve experienced. But the fans are so passionate. Seriously, this is the coolest job in the world with the best fans.”

The Hollywood Gossip is not too proud to admit: we may now be the second most popular Twitter destination on the Internet.

This sad news comes on the heels of the announcement that New Moon has officially opened an account (@Twilight) on the social networking system.

Amanda Bynes Twit Pic

While THG offers the most insightful, humorous, jarring celebrity gossip stories on the Web (Seriously. Follow us today.), we can't compete with exclusive shots from the most anticipated movie of the year.

Earlier today, for example, this TwitPic of Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner flirting, while Robert Pattinson looks on menacingly, was released by the film's Twitter handler:

Also, New Moon director Chris Weitz has told fans that his movie will run for two hours and 10 minutes. Will this be enough time to drool over Robsten in all its glory? It will have to be.

Until Eclipse comes out, that is. And Breaking Dawn. And the next supermarket tabloid that lies about how far along Kristen Stewart is in her pregnancy.

Celebrity gossip spoiler alert:

Next week, the reader that leaves the most comments across The Hollywood Gossip will win a FREE copy of the New Moon soundtrack. Let the excitement begin!

Death Cab for Cutie will anchor this anticipated album, meanwhile, with the single "Meet Me On the Equinox." After this article's jump, we've posted the official music video for the song.

In it, the band performs in Bella Swan's home in Forks; the scene then progresses, as Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) emerges from the shadows to inform Bella he can't see her ever again.

More New Moon images follow, as singer Ben Gibbard croons that "everything, everything ends" - and the video follows Bella's hallucinatory heartache.

It's sad, it's heart-pounding and it's available for viewing after the jump.

The Hollywood Gossip is currently running a contest:

The reader that posts the most comments throughout our site this week wins a copy of New Moon: The Official Illustrated Movie Companion. Anyone wondering whether or not this is a worthwhile prize, trust us: it is.

Tattooed and Cute

Actually, you don't need to trust us. We've posted the proof below.

A handful of New Moon spoilers and photos, courtesy of this cool book, have been leaked online. Here's an example of the latter, followed by a list of the former:

As for various tidbits and changes fans can expect to see in New Moon...

  • Throughout the sequences where Bella sees visions of Edward, he's donning the same outfit as when he originally bid farewell to his love;
  • Regarding the well-known birthday scene in the Cullen household: Edward relates the history of the Volturi to Bella, followed by Edward facing off against Jasper.
  • In the aforementioned book, Robert Pattinson says: “The birthday scene at the Cullen house is like the ideal birthday party. The house is beautifully decorated and everyone is happy. Edward is looking at Bella and thinking that she can become part of his family and his life; that maybe this can work out the way he wants it to.”
  • Jacob gives Bella a dream catcher, a gift not bestowed upon her in the novel.

On a scale of 1-10, how excited are you for New Moon?

To many, New Moon might be considered the ultimate chick flick.

But, in an interview with BoxOffice.com, Taylor Lautner has a message for his fellow fellas: this isn't the case.

Asked whether guys would enjoy the second installment of the Twilight Saga franchise, Lautner said yes because::

“There’s a lot more action than Twilight. It’s more exciting - it has werewolves and vampires, which creates fights because they don’t get along. Not only does the action step up, but the whole story line does as well. Now there’s a third person involved.”

As for his character in New Moon - seen above, shirtless and trying to woo Bella - Lautner dished on the two sides to Jacob Black:

"I play pre-transformation Jacob, and post. He doesn’t transform into a werewolf until halfway through the film. For pre-transformation, the books describe Jacob as clumsy. He trips over his own feet - he’s a kid. And as soon as he transforms, he all of a sudden because extremely agile. There’s several scenes that show his new agility, so that was the biggest thing I had to bring out.”

Meanwhile, the film has released a series of new character posters. Robert Pattinson as Edward is somehow missing, but click on the pics below for a look at Kellan Lutz as Emmett and more:
