Things apparently just weren't working out between the pair, who started dating in April. Portman appeared in the video for Banhart’s song "Carmensita."

They were "just too different" to make it work, sources say.

In fact, even more officially calling it quits with Devendra, Natalie was apparently on the lookout for a replacement. She might be pointing at you, guys ...

During an event in Cannes, Natalie Portman took to the red carpet in this one-strapped, ruffled ensemble.

Natalie Portman currently stars in the movie My Blueberry Nights.

From the looks of the photo below, and the celebrity gossip rumors traveling around the Internet, however, it appears as though Portman could make a new documentary entitled My Ban-berry Nights.

Indeed, Portman has been spotted around New York City, canoodling with little-known folk singer Devendra Banhart. People Magazine capture the new couple below:

Portman - who previously had dated Nathan Bogle - will also be making a guest appearance in Banhart's upcoming music video, "Carmensita."

Overall, we're impressed by Devendra Banhart. Portman is a quality catch for a guy that looks like Cisco Adler.

We're not sure if Natalie Portman is still dating Nathan Bogle. We haven't heard from that alleged male model in quite some time. Sad.

But we know she's throwing her support behind Hillary Clinton in the race for president, although she likes the other contenders too.

Natalie tops Elle Magazine's April 2008 "Intelligent Women" issue, and in her interview, here's some of what she shared about politics:

"A lot of the stuff people say about [Hillary Clinton], I hear it and my stomach falls because it's so sexist. You ask people why they don't like her and it's because her husband cheated on her! That was obviously not her choice."

THG NOTE: We respect everyone's opinion, but really, Natalie? Didn't you go to Harvard? We would love to know the name of one person who actually used that reasoning.

  Natalie Portman is sharing some political views in the new Elle.

"She's so much more polished and experienced than anyone else. Last night, a friend, a social worker in L.A. who works with underprivileged kids, was saying how these girls who have never been interested in politics before are so excited a woman might be president. I mean, look how many women are in government ... Hillary Clinton is one of, what, [a handful of] female senators?"

THG NOTE: 16, actually, Natalie. There are also 71 U.S. Congresswomen, including the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, plus eight state governors and the U.S. Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice. Which is great. We're just saying.

"I also like Barack Obama. I even like John McCain. I disagree with his war stance â€" which is a really big deal â€" but I think he's a very moral person. I met him and Hillary on the same day, actually, when I went to Washington with Finca [a nonprofit that gives loans to businesswomen in developing countries]. Hillary was by far the smartest person I met that day. Just totally focused, and knew more about the issues than anyone else, and was so able to go from one thing to the other."

She's beautiful. She's smart. She's talented. She's possibly dating Nathan Bogle.

Now Natalie Portman is stunning on the cover of The New York Times' Style Magazine.

The actress talks to the magazine about why we see little to no Natalie Portman naked or even in roles where she is sexualized, as well as how her heritage comes into play in her career.

Here are some interesting interview excerpts:

New York Times: You have had a kind of precocious child-woman quality in some of your films that has elicited a Lolita-esque response. Was that unnerving for you?

Natalie Portman: Yes. One scene was particularly uncomfortable: when I try to kiss Jean Reno. He was, obviously, much older. And around that time, there was the scene in Interview With the Vampire when Kirsten Dunst, who was around my age, kissed Brad Pitt. There were articles about young girls in adult roles, and my family ran away from anything that was Lolita-esque. And then, of course, they offered me Lolita itself. That was the ultimate no.

New York Times: Did it have anything to do with being Anne Frank on Broadway?

Natalie Portman: For many Jews, especially those who have experienced the Holocaust, Israel represents a place of refuge and acceptance. Perhaps. I was 16 when I played Anne Frank. It was tough: I went to high school full time. I was studying for my A.P. tests and my SATs while performing eight times a week. The audience reaction, night after night, was really moving. As Anne Frank, I really began to understand what Gertrude Stein meant about the power of repetition. Hearing words over and over increases their meaning and their impact.

- Chace rollin' solo style? Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford was spotted hitting up New York nightspot Butter ... without a certain someone. While many in the club wondered if his "friend" Carrie Underwood would show up, the young star, sporting a suit and skinny black tie, instead was seen with a different blonde.

- As her beleaguered European tour rolls on, a still-living Amy Winehouse took a pre-concert cruise around the tattoo parlors of Paris' Pigalle neighborhood with hubby Blake Fielder-Civil. The couple gawked at the Moulin Rouge cabaret and shared a kiss before making a stop at the L'Académie des Billiards.

- In Berlin to film the thriller The International, Naomi Watts stepped out with Liev Schreiber for supper at Sagrantino wine bar. Bor-ring.

- Okay, so this isn't exactly club news (or club news at all), but we love Mary-Louise Parker, who was seen working out with her trainer at Equinox in New York. They were doing weight training and work with a yoga ball. According to an onlooker, the actress "looked stunning... even in her gym clothes and no makeup."

Natalie Portman couldn't get a table recently at the busy Lower East Side (N.Y. City) restaurant Apizz, according to the New York Post. But that doesn't mean she didn't give it the old college try. And by that we mean flashing her beautiful smile.

On a recently packed night at the joint, one bystander saw Natalie Portman walk in with her model boyfriend, Nathan Bogle, and try to work the magic.

"They didn't have a reservation," said the source. "So Natalie Portman leaned in, flashed a mischievous smile, and asked, ‘Are you sure?'"

The steely manager reiterated that, yes, he was absolutely sure - but he did find Nat and Nathan Bogle some space to sit over in the lounge. Natalie who?

Poor Nathan Bogle. He probably thought that by dating a very famous actress, he would get into all the best restaurants. But don't feel so sorry for this model beau. Presumably he has still seen Natalie Portman naked.

At least that's how the actress perceives it.

After adamantly stating you'd never see Natalie Portman naked on film, she finally went ahead a nude scene for Wes Anderson's Hotel Chevalier.

Now she regrets it - and says you won't see Natalie Portman nude again.

Unless you're Nathan Bogle, of course. But that's not the point.

"I'm really sorry I didn't listen to my intuition," she said. "From now on, I'm going to trust my gut. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is say no."

Yeah, yeah. While we can't help but respect Natalie's morals, we think it's a little premature to write sexy naked movie scenes altogether.

From Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry to Kate Bosworth and James Rousseau, the hot actresses dating male models trend seems to be gaining serious steam.

The latest entry to that club? Natalie Portman and Nathan Bogle.

The Closer star and her model boyfriend were seen walking hand-in-hand as they enjoyed take a romantic stroll through Central Park on Thursday.

Looking very cozy and happy, Natalie Portman and Nathan Bogle checked out the exhibits at the Whitney Museum and went shopping on Madison Avenue.

Portman pretty much confirmed her couple status with Nathan Bogle when they were spotted snuggling up to one another at the U.S. Open last week.

And here we thought all the hunks were on the court.

The pair have been spotted together off and on for at least four months. It looks now like this is a legitimate relationship, which begs the ultimate question:

Natalie Portman is no Kim Kardashian.

While the latter is unafraid to show off her unusually large buttocks and giant boobs at all times, in all places, the former is a respected actress and Harvard student.

Of course, Portman did get mostly naked in the movie, Closer, pictured below. But that doesn't mean you'll be seeing this young beauty bare it all - like Vanessa Minnillo nude or Tila Tequila nude - in her next film.

In fact, the actress gets mighty peeved at any notion that she gets naked in Goya's Ghost.

"There's a long shot of a nude woman," Portman said. But, sadly, she adds, "It's not me. ... You do see some parts of me unclothed, but if they end up on Web sites making it look like I'm nude, I'm going to be really, really angry."

Hear that, Perez Hilton and other dishonest, immoral celebrity news outlets that doctor pictures and show stars looking their worst? Do not show Natalie Portman nude pictures anywhere.

The same, though, can't be said for Eva Mendes naked. That actress is down with the birthday suit.
