Day Above Ground recently released a song called "Asian Girlz," and immediately felt the backlash, which isn't shocking considering its lyrics and content.

Depending on your point of view, it's either the most racist thing you've seen all week, the most racist thing you've seen ever, or somewhere in between:

While an Asian model strips, the band sings about fried rice and basically every other stereotype you can think of, with varying degrees of offensiveness.

While this is happening, every member of the band goes on a date with an Asian girl, who's "17 or 23, it doesn't matter to me!" Seriously, that's a lyric.

Levy Tran, the "Asian Girl" in the video, apologized for participating in the clip on Twitter, while the band defended the work as a satire in a YouTube statement:

We have news regarding Justin Bieber - and it has nothing to do with raided tour buses, peeing in mop buckets or even Selena Gomez.

This update is actually focused on - gasp! - the singer's music for a change.

While performing yesterday in New Jersey, the Biebs was presented with an award from the Recording Industry Association of America's Gold & Platinum Program because his early hit "Baby" has gone Diamond, meaning it has sold over 10 million copies.

Moreover, "Baby" is now the G&P's top Digital Single. Of all-time.

"Amazing night and honored," Bieber Tweeted after the show and recognition. "So much more to do. I love my #Beliebers. Thank u!!"

As you might expect, the singer's fans then mobilized on social media and started Trending the hashtag "#congratsjustin" around the world. It's well-deserved!

Brad Paisley is done being an Accidental Racist.

Now, he's just a realistic country singer.

The superstar debuted "I Can't Change the World" on last night's America's Got Talent results show, performing the third track of the album "Wheelhouse."

It's a slow, beautiful ballad that shouldn't garner the same controversy as the artist's aforementioned duet with LL Cool J from earlier this year. Give the single a listen now:

As for the actual America's Got Talent results?

She may not be number-one in the heart of Justin Bieber.

But she's number-one on the Billboard 100.

Selena Gomez's new album, "Stars Dance," sold 97,000 copies in its first week, good enough to place Gomez on the top of this prestigious chart. It's the artist's first-ever best-selling album.

"Come & Get It," the first track of "Stars Dance," also hit number-one this month. And a video of Selena celebrating the event surfaced on the Internet soon afterward.

No such video of her album reaction has been released yet, but we'll keep our eyes out. Congrats, SG!

New Michael Jackson material may be released this fall, according to reports, along with new material from the late Freddie Mercury of Queen.

Together!

Michael Jackson and Freddy Mercury

Three unearthed tracks Michael recorded with Freddie back in 1983 in what was supposed to be collaborative effort are apparently set to be released.

Initially, the collaboration fell apart due to the "constraints" of the two music superstars' busy schedules, as well as creative differences (so to speak).

Nicki Minaj has finally spoken out about DJ Khaled's marriage proposal, and believe it or not, they are NOT getting hitched. In fact, she says he's obviously kidding.

Turns out the whole thing was in fact a stunt to promote his single "I Wanna Be With You," which features Minaj and will appear on his album Symptoms of Success.

  • Khaled
  • Nicki Minaj Rapping

Those words should sound familiar. They were dropped by Khaled in his "heartfelt" video proposal to Minaj last week in which he proposed on MTV.

"I'm here at MTV because it's a worldwide network, and the only reason why I'm not telling you face-to-face is 'cause I understand that you're busy," the rapper said.

Justin Timberkale is officially taking back the night.

The singer premiered the music video for his latest single - a nearly six-minute track - and shows off his famous dance moves across New York City.

Between dance circles with kids who can bust a move themselves, JT visits underground hot spots and nightclubs, as well as performs in an arena.

Here's his "Take Back the Night" music video:

If you're a fan of the singer, the first single off the second volume of The 20/20 Experience is a vintage pop-R&B, dance club track that surely won't disappoint.

What do you think of Justin's latest video?

A Virginia Tech student recently asked Nirvana to record a video shout-out ... and may or may not be under the impression that Kurt Cobain is alive and/or a woman.

Nirvana's former label, Sub Pop, posted the letter they got from the VT student asking them to record this message to university students:

  • VT Letter
  • Kurt Cobain Picture

"What's up, Virginia Tech? This is Nirvana! Just wanted to wish you guys a Happy Homecoming Week and good luck at the game this Saturday. LETS [sic] GO HOKIES!"

The student would be happy to link back to Nirvana's Facebook and Twitter accounts, they said, and then added this kicker to further make the case:

"It presents great publicity for them, as well as Virginia Tech loves Nirvana. We'd love to have her in our video." Alongside the Ying Yang Twins, no less.

Katy Perry's new album Prism is coming out October 22, 2013.

That's the impression we get from this photo, at least ...

Katy Perry Prism

The singer reportedly arranged for an 18-wheeler to drive the streets of L.A. Monday, emblazoned with the large words "Katy Perry, Prism, 10.22.13."

A Tweet, press release or racy picture (a la Lady Gaga nude every other day) have involved fewer carbon emissions, but major points for creativity.

Well, we were wrong.

It does get crazier than the Miley Cyrus "We Can't Stop" music video.

The singer has released a Director's Cut of the same video and it includes unusual footage that did not make the final version, such as Cyrus doing some living room karaoke… and pretending to flash the camera… and getting down with Amazing Ashley.

But fear not: the artist is still Twerking up a storm, dancing with a stuffed bear and doing whatever else reminds her of taking ecstasy in the new video. Take it all in now:
