Deadmau5 is being taken to court by a much bigger cartoon mau5.

Disney is apparently ready to challenge him in court after the conglomerate determined that the DJ's logo is too similar to its (trademarked) Mickey Mouse ears.

We can't decide if we're shocked at this news or shocked that it's taken them this long to file, but either way, the electronic music star is vowing to fight it out.

"Landed home to some interesting news," he tweeted this week. "Looks like Disney officially just filed in opposition of my trademark … lawyer up Mickey."

"Disney thinks you might confuse an established electronic musician/performer with a cartoon mouse," he went on. "That's how stupid they think you are."

Deadmau5 (pronounced "dead mouse"), real name Joel Zimmerman, uses oversized headpieces with rounded ears, while doing his thing live around the world.

In a statement to E! News, Deadmau5 attorney Dina LaPolt further elaborated on the matter, claiming he has his own likeness trademarked, thankyouverymuch:

Sadly, with the passage of Labor Day, the summer of 2014 is unofficially at an end.

But Iggy Azalea is from Australia - where the seasons are reversed and thirsty stars can go from Britney Spears wannabes to gangsta-ass "murder business" rappers overnight.

So while the rest of us mourn the end of beach season, Iggy is celebrating the start of her reign as Queen of the Charts.

Yes, after months of breaking sales records, "Fancy" is officially the best-selling song of the summer. Take that, rappers who write their own songs!

We kid Iggy because we love her. Sure there are those pesky rumors that T.I. ghostwrites all of Iggy's rhymes, but if we lived in a world where only songwriters became stars then you would've never heard the word "Bieber," and who would want that?

Maybe it's best if you don't answer that question.

Back in 2001, Katy Perry wasn't even Katy Perry.

She was Katy Hudson, a fresh-faced, teenage Christian rock singer with some big musical dreams but little resemblance to the woman now known worldwide.

At that time, cameraman Jim Standridge had the chance to spend time with Katy while filming electronic press materials for her then-record company.

One which he just now unearthed. Take a look:

“Everyone thinks I’m like a superstar … but that’s not how I am at all. I’m just some little kid from California who plays the guitar and sings,” Hudson says.

It's hard to believe that this innocent girl would one day produce five No. 1 singles on one album and become one of the driving forces in popular music.

The footage, edited down from 90 minutes to just under 13, shows the 17-year-old "pizza face" playing with her hair, performing before a small crowd.

Taylor Swift is headed to NBC.

The artist, whose latest single has hit number-one, will act as an advisor on the upcoming season of The Voice.

This is the same capacity in which Coldplay singer Chris Martin served on Season 6, as he took contestants across all four teams under his talented wing and offered them advice.

Swift will be working with panelists Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, as well as new coaches Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams this fall.

Swift’s "Shake It Off" moved 500,000 copies in 10 days and was played on YouTube over 50 million times. It’s also everywhere pop radio. Seriously, just try not to listen to it in the car.

Bring It On
What do you have to say about cheerleaders NOW, Taylor?

The beloved artist is also number-one on Billboard‘s new Artist 100 chart, which combines performance across the Hot 100, the Billboard 200 album chart, and the Internet-centric Social 50.

In other words: you may disagree with Swift being a true feminist, but you can't argue with her professional success.

Everyone wants a piece of Nicki Minaj these days.

The singer's Anaconda video has broken the VEVO mark for most views in a 24-hour period, which has led to Victoria Justice Twerking her way through her own rendition of the song and, now, to a rather unexpected parody of the footage.

It comes from South African comedy team Derek Watts and the Sunday Blues and it replaces most of the song's soundtrack with farts.

Yup. That's it. The video now features a lot of Nicki's butt and a great deal of Nicki farting because, let's face it, farting is always funny...

Nicki Minaj will keep having the last laugh, of course.

In the following video, Victoria Justice is either paying homage to Nicki Minaj... or challenging her to a Twerk Off.

The actress/singer filmed herself shaking up a storm to Minaj’s “Anaconda” this week and even stuffed her pants with a pillow to best replace Nicki’s impressive backside.

On Instagram, Justice jokes that the footage features her “alter ego, Vicki Minaj.”

Can she compete with the real thing? Decide for yourself now:

The actual Minaj, of course, owns the music world these days.
