Alvin Lee, a British guitarist who lit up Woodstock with a monumental 11-minute version of his song "I'm Going Home," has died, according to his website.

He passed away Wednesday at age 68.

A note signed by Lee's daughter, Jasmin and wife, Evi, reads:

"With great sadness, we have to announce that Alvin unexpectedly passed away early this morning after unforeseen complications following a routine surgical procedure."

Kanye West is not pleased about his low ranking on MTV's "Hottest MCs List" ... or really anything in which he is ranked or otherwise considered less than the all-time best.

He knows just who to blame for the perceived snub, too.

West was ranked seventh on the MTV list, behind #5 Drake and #6 Big Sean (only part of the list has been released), and wasn’t shy about sharing his outrage.

The outspoken rapper went off on New York’s Hot 97 station Tuesday, defending his rapping skills and claiming it's all due to a personal dislike.

“Number seven bothers me,” West complained to DJ Enuff.

DJ Ajax has died. The celebrated Australian DJ and electronic producer Adrian Thomas, better known by his nickname in club circles, was killed in a road accident.

He was 41.

Thomas also a founding member of the Bang Gang DJs crew and was co-founder and director of the label Sweat It Out, which had a monster hit in 2010.

Our best wishes to out to pop star Anastacia.

The singer has been forced to cancel shows in Dubai, along with a handful in Europe, after being diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time in a decade.

The 44-year old - who had been scheduled to perform March 30 at the Dubai World Cup and who has gone multi-Platinum overseas - will cancel all appearance and travel until further notice.

In 2003, she successfully defeated this same illness. And let's all hope she can do so again.

Scott Weiland has been fired by Stone Temple Pilots, the band he fronted for more than two decades. This news begs the following questions, among others:

  1. Stone Temple Pilots are actually still around?
  2. What could Weiland do to get fired NOW?
