Who wore it best at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards?

Readers will have a chance to answer that question after flipping through the following photo gallery.

But who wore it least? That's easy: Amber Rose, who walked the red carpet in a dress that left her practically naked.

With apologies to Kim Kardashian, who let most of her cleavage hang out (and also to Kendall Jenner, who pretty much just walked around in a black bra), Rose took the raciest fashion cake with ease.

But whose outfit most impressed? Who ought to fire his or her wardrobe consultant right this very instant?

Click. Judge. And decide for yourself now:

Not even 12 hours ago, a show-opening Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj VMA performance offered fans their first taste of "Bang Bang" the duo's new single.

The divas, along with their third collaborator Jessie J, decided this wasn't sufficient, however, debuting the official “Bang Bang” music video the same night!

Take a look at the pop power trio's effort below and see what you think:

“Bang Bang” is a late but strong entry to the annual "Song of the Summer" debate, facing stiff competition from Ariana's "Problem" among other hit songs.

The video is appropriately hot, featuring Jessie J singing from fire escapes, Ariana prepping for a night out and the "Anaconda" rapper crashing the party.

Via helicopter, naturally. Go hard or go home, right Nicki?

Fortunately for Nicki, unlike the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards stage, there were wardrobe malfunctions involved in the making of this video. Probably.

All of that looks pretty deliberate to us.

In many ways, the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards could have been dubbed the 2014 MTV Nicki Minaj Rear End Awards.

First, music's top Twerker performed alongside Ariana Grande for a rendition of "Bang Bang."

Then, Minaj brought out the big guns buns for a live performance of "Anaconda," before later also joining Usher on stage for a dance-filled version of "She Came To Give It To Me."

It included Usher bouncing his head off Nicki's butt. Seriously! Check out all the fun and raunchy moves now:

Other performances that stood out from the VMAs included Beyonce putting on an epic medley prior to being handed the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard trophy, along with Taylor Swift performing "Shake It Off" for the first time.

What a difference one year makes.

At the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, Miley Cyrus stole every headline by Twerking alongside Robin Thicke and forever dirtying foam fingers in the eyes of viewers around the globe.

At the 2014 ceremony, however, Miley won Video of the Year for "Wrecking Ball," but didn't even take the stage to accept the trophy.

Instead, she walked up with a 22-year old named Jesse, who told the crowd he was one of "1.6 million runaways and homeless youth in the United States who are starving and lost and scared for their lives."

He explained that the music industry will make $7 billion this year, while they honor themselves at major events... with thousands of poverty-stricken individuals sitting right outside the theater's doors.

He talked of fundraising campaign created by Cyrus that will benefit a drop-in service center in Hollywood she's been visiting as of late and asked fans to visit Miley's Facebook page for more.

It was a surprising, emotional few moments that you can view here:

Iggy Azalea was joined by Rita Ora to perform their hit "Black Widow" at the 2014 MTV VMAs last night, which was perhaps most noteworthy for one reason:

She didn't get "Fancy."

Azalea recently joined The Beatles as the only two acts in history to have their first two singles simultaneously ranked in the top two spots of the Billboard Hot 100.

Let that sink in for a moment. The Australian rapper owes the bulk of the credit to "Fancy," her Video of the Year nominee, but instead opted for "Black Widow."

Maybe she's still shaken up from the other night (if you didn't see Iggy Azalea fall off stage while performing Friday, do it). Or doesn't want to be pigeonholed?

Either way, "Black Widow" it was, and Azalea and Ora really committed to the theme, with their tight-fitting sequined cat suits and spider web backdrop.

She'll have her share of detractors for various reasons as long as she continues her meteoric rise to the top, but I-G-G-Y spits mad game, that's for sure.

Iggy made sure her tight posterior was prominently featured, even if the Nicki Minaj VMA performance threw down that gauntlet in the opening moments.

Check out all the outrageous the red carpet highlights from one of the year's biggest entertainment events after the jump to see what the stars wore (or didn't) ...

She wore sequins. She moved. She grooved. She joked about a snack biting a Nicki Minaj backup dancer earlier in the weekend.

And, overall, she helped put on one of the more memorable performances of the MTV Video Music Awards.

We're talking, of course, about Taylor Swift and her live debut on her latest single, "Shake It Off."

Watch Swift shimmy, shake promote her upcoming fifth studio album and bring the crowd to its feet now:

Elsewhere on a fun night, Beyonce performed an epic medley prior to receiving the Video Vanguard Award, while Nicki Minaj helped open the show via a mix of "Bang Bang" and "Anaconda."

She came. She saw. She Twerked. She blew up Twitter. Yes, Nicki Minaj's VMA performance was the talk of the event ... and that was before she even took the stage.

The slithering, seductive, Sir-Mix-a-Lot-inspired song, its cover art and video have already generated insane buzz, inspired countless memes and shattered YouTube records.

To top it all off, a giant snake bit one of her dancers during her VMA rehearsal, leaving fans wondering how the actual performance could possibly live up to the hype.

See the live debut of the Nicki Minaj Anaconda phenomenon - bookended by somewhat unlikely medley collaborator Ariana Grande - and see if it did:

If it didn't quite mesh with expectations, it's only because there was so much going on. No one can accuse the 2014 MTV VMAs of phoning in this year's intro.

Grande opened the awards show with her hit song “Break Free” in a sparkly silver getup, followed by Minaj strutting her stuff in "Anaconda" themed attire.

Minaj and her booty-shaking backup dancers were all covered in green body paint resembling the jungle, with plenty of raunchy writhing to go around.

Just from the humans, fortunately. The snake was 86'd from the performance.

English singer Jessie J then joined Nicki and Ariana to perform their new hit song “Bang Bang,” after which Minaj suffered a wardrobe malfunction of sorts.

Beyonce accepted the Video Vanguard Award Sunday and absolutely SHUT DOWN The Forum in Inglewood, Calif., for a medley that lasted over 15 minutes.

Honored at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards for the indelible mark she's left on the network and the genre, the Queen claimed her throne in an epic performance:

Like last year's winner Justin Timberlake, the Video Vanguard Award is a lifetime achievement honor of sorts, and the recipient gets to put on a SHOW.

Not just a performance, but a mini-concert. Wearing a bedazzled, rainbow-colored body suit, Bey owned every minute of it as she went through her catalog.

Starting off the set with the mid-tempo "Mine," the 32-year-old transitioned into to favorites like "Drunk in Love" and "Partition," followed by "Rocket" and "Jealous."

While singing her hit "Drunk in Love," she was surrounded not by Jay Z, but by dancers covered in sparkling gold body paint in thongs and bras.

Speaking of Jay, can we finally put those Beyonce divorce rumors to rest? He was sitting in the audience the entire time ... along with little Blue Ivy!

The 2014 MTV Video Music Awards - a show now 30 years running, having outlived the music videos the network no longer even airs - were handed out Sunday.

Irony aside, without the VMAs, celebrities wouldn't have a much-needed summer excuse to bust out their zaniest getups, pull crazy $h!t and trend on social media.

Amber Rose at the VMAs
Hello there, Amber Rose! The model appears to have left some of her VMA dress at home.

Which is what it's all about, right? And let's be honest, if Miley Cyrus Twerking taught us anything, it's that arbitrary or not, videos or no videos, the VMAs are an EVENT.

One with a boatload of awards to hand out, and Miley Cyrus took home the Video of the Year Moonman for “Wrecking Ball,” her naked 2013 sensation.

Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran won Best Female and Best Male, respectively; Ariana Grande won Best Pop for “Problem” and Lorde won Best Rock for “Royals.”

There was also a touching Robin Williams VMA tribute, a half-naked Amber Rose on the red carpet, and performances and OMG moments galore, as expected.

Did Nicki Minaj upstage Miley? What else went down that we'll be talking about for the next day, month, even YEAR until the VMAs come around again?

Check back with us throughout the day as we break all that down for you. Below, follow the jump for a full list of winners from the 2014 MTV VMAs!

The MTV Video Music Awards, a ceremony typically best known for revealing outfits and risque performances, turned serious for a few moments tonight.

The event paid tribute to Robin Williams, the Oscar-winning actor who took his own life two weeks ago, with a short montage of pictures of the star, backed by Coldplay‘s “A Sky Full of Stars."

Watch the video here:

Williams died of asphyxia due to hanging, using his own belt to commit suicide inside his northern California home earlier this month.
