Rihanna and One Direction's response - or lack thereof - to Miley Cyrus' VMA performances may have been highlight of the entire pop music Super Bowl.

If you missed it, the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards will best be remembered for Miley Cyrus Twerking, wearing latex underwear and grinding on Robin Thicke.

Not necessarily remembered in a good way, though. While the 20-year-old wild child was performing, the camera panned to the crowd. And found this:

Rihanna, One Direction Watch Miley Cyrus

Rihanna and the five young men of One Direction, who were sitting near each other inside the Barclays Center, were not impressed to say the least.

RiRi's blank expression said it all, while Harry Styles' furrowed brow was equally classic. We'd wager that they spoke for most of the viewing public.

After all, it's not everyday you see a former Disney star Twerking in pigtails and a onesie, slapping butts and molesting a 36-year-old married father.

Rihanna and 1D are holding up okay, but we're just waiting for the class action PTSD lawsuit against Miley from those feeling victimized by this display.

Maybe next year, Austin Mahone.

The young artist, who many have compared to Justin Bieber, didn't get a chance to take the big stage last night at the MTV Video Music awards, performing instead on the network pre-show.

But like Ariana Grande - another rising star hoping to graduate to the main event in 2014 - Mahone sent a clear message to the music world with a rendition of "What About Love." He's got next!

Watch Mahone move, groove and sing up a storm now. Does he have what it takes to be the next Bieber?

Ariana Grande's VMA performance was one of the most talked-about moments of the annual pop culture extravaganza, and it was only the pre-show!

Grande lived up to her surname, belting out "Baby I" a cappella, complete with the vocal runs and near flawless tonality that have made her a breakout star.

Her crew, in all black, danced behind her onstage, but the 20-year-old remained in place for the most part, focusing on her transition into "The Way."

Watch Ariana Grande do her thing below!

Justin Bieber's Twitter kissing partner also generated serious buzz with her princess-purple silk dress and sparkly prom-style jewels on the red carpet.

Not a bad night, wouldn't you agree?

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis performed their gay marriage anthem "Same Love" at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, which they won an award for.

Only up on the podium, Mack forgot to thank Mary Lambert, the gay singer whose guest vocals were vital to their Best Social Message Song win.

Fortunately, there were no hard feelings, as Mary later delivered an impassioned performance - featuring Jennifer Hudson - with the guys. Watch:

You can probably cut Macklemore a little slack, as he got caught up in a fervent speech about the song's importance when he accepted the award:

"I'll be honest, I really wanted to win Best Rap Video, but this Moonman right here stands for a lot more," the Seattle rapper said, fighting back emotion.

"I've been writing songs, since I was like 15 years old and out of every single song I have ever written, this is the most important record out of all of them."

He may have reunited with N Sync last night, but Justin Timberlake also proved why he made the right decision to go off on his own.

The solo artist blew viewers away with a medley of hits that included takes on “Take Back the Night,” “SexyBack,” “Like I Love You,” “My Love,” “Cry Me a River,” “Senorita,” and “Rock Your Body."

He then welcomed his former boy band members on stage to rock out with new choreography... only to continue with “Suit & Tie” and “Mirrors" after they departed.

It was a whirlwind, impressive, 15-minute set for JT. And we loved every second!

Watch above and decide: Who put on the best performance at the VMAs?

Forget Video of the Year or Best Collaboration.

Miley Cyrus won the unofficial trophy for Most Ridiculous at the MTV Video Music Awards last night, thanks to her stuffed bear and foam finger-based performance of "We Can't Stop."

And Taylor Swift clearly took home the title of Most Bitter Ex-Girlfriend, as cameras actually captured the singer turning to BFF Selena Gomez when ex-boyfriend Harry Styles was on stage with his bandmates and saying four simple words:

Shut. The. F-ck. Up.

Yes, it's clear Taylor has some pent up anger at Styles.

Perhaps she should write a song about it - which he says he's already anticipating. Watch the following GIF for to assess Swift's apparent response on repeat:

She showed off some serious thigh. She debuted a grill. She stole the show performing under the Brooklyn Bridge in a sports bra and boxing shorts.

Katy Perry, everyone!

The star closed out the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards with a rendition of her new hit single, "Roar," her first performance of the show anywhere:

The girl power anthem, which has drawn comparisons to Sara Bareilles' "Brave", has been a huge seller out of the gate, and earned raves on Twitter Sunday.

Did Katy Perry's VMA performance deserve them? Watch above and tell us:

We've heard her roar, but do you think her new song is a champion?

As evidenced by the reveal of North West last week, Kanye West is the father of an adorable, healthy baby girl.

But that doesn't mean the artist is suddenly in a bright and shiny mood.

Kanye took to the MTV Vide Music Awards stage last night for a very dark rendition of "Blood on the Leaves," a track off the album "Yeezus."

With the act, the 36-year old tied Madonna for most performances in show history - and he did so without cutting off Taylor Swift or any winner this year! West has come so far.

Watch him do his unique thing now:

We know how Kim Kardashian felt about her man on stage, Tweeting soon afterward:

“Best performance of the night @kanyewest !!!!!!!!!”

N Sync is back! If only for two minutes of one night at the 2013 MTV VMAs.

It felt like 2000 again at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn as JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone, and Lance Bass performed a spirited rendition of "Bye, Bye, Bye."

Watch the highly-anticipated N Sync reunion performance now!

With Justin Timberlake, of course, the guest of honor at the entire event.

The colossal boy band got together for the first time in 10 years in honor of JT winning the Video Vanguard Award for achievement as a music video pioneer.

The crew, who earned a special shout-out during Justin's speech later, were part of a celebration of his career that also featured an impressive solo medley.

The highlight, though, was N Sync. Right? What did you think?
