Lady Gaga VMA Costume: Total Junk
Lady Gaga certainly did not leave anything in the bag in her bid to become Jo Calderone at the MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles Sunday.
The pop star didn't just wear men's clothing and fake stubble. Lady Gaga took dressing in drag to the extreme, wearing a prosthetic penis, even.
Seriously, she was. Talk about getting into character.
Perhaps that was the impetus behind the revelation that Gaga/Jo used to pleasure himself to Britney Spears when he was a kid. He/she didn't say.
"I am from New Jersey," Jo Calderone said. "My family is from Palermo, Sicily. I'm not a singer or a model or an actor or anything. I am just a guy."
A guy who always keeps things interesting, for sure.

MTV Video Music Awards Set Ratings Record
Sunday's telecast of the MTV Video Music Awards set a record with 12.4 million viewers, the largest audience ever for the network, according to reports.
The previous high was set by ... the previous week's Jersey Shore.
The VMAs, a celebrity gossip bonanza and the one night every year that the network that once revolutionized music pretends to still care about it, were up nine percent in total viewers from last year. It was the top cable telecast of the year so far.
Among the many highlights? A rare Britney Spears appearance, Beyonce's pregnancy announcement, The Hunger Games trailer and Gaga's male alter ego.
No word if Jo Calderone will be asked to host next year's event.

Lady Gaga on Britney Spears: So F*%king HOT!
Hey, Lady Gaga is just calling it like she sees it. Or at least like Jo Calderone, her male alter ego who performed at the MTV VMAs last night, sees it.
Jo put on quite the show on stage, but also in the press room, where he weighed in with some, um, interesting remarks about Britney Spears.
Asked if he would hook up with Britney, Calderone said this ...
"Well, maybe if she wants to, you know what I'm saying ... She is f--king hot. Britney's f--king hot. I don't know. Gaga is my girl, but Britney's f--king hot - this is f--king Britney Spears! Didn't you jerk off to Britney when you were a kid?"
Okay then.
As for who the heck Jo Calderone - an anagram of "Alejandro" - thinks he is and where he came from, the drag version of Gaga had this to say:
MTV VMAs Fashion Face-Off: Lady Gaga vs. Nicki Minaj
Talk about a matchup made in celebrity fashion heaven.
Lady Gaga's performance as Jo Calderone wasn't the last we saw of her male alter ego at the MTV Video Music Awards. She showed up at Sunday's event in character and continued to channel Jo at an after party following the show!
Topping last year's meat dress wasn't easy, but she may have managed it in her understated drag. That is way too convincing. Gaga may have even outshone Nicki Minaj - not an easy feat - for wildest couture choice of the night.
Whose fashion do you think was best? Cast your vote!
Did Jay-Z Diss Chris Brown at the VMAs?
Chris Brown's VMA performance was, by all accounts, one of the highlights of the night, and one that left most people in the crowd on their feet.
Jay-Z is not most people, however.
Everyone from Kanye West to Justin Bieber stood up and cheered, but Jay-Z just sat there expressionless, not even smiling as Brown did his thing.
Of course, Jay has other things on his mind - what with Beyonce pregnant and all - but he remains tight with Rihanna, a singer he made famous.
Think his decision not to applaud (around the one-minute mark) was motivated by some lingering animosity? Or is Jay just too cool? Or maybe tired? You tell us ...
MTV VMAs Fashion Face-Off: Taylor Lautner vs. Justin Bieber
Twihards vs. Beliebers.
Acting vs. singing.
Black pants vs. red.
Oh, yes, it's on in every conceivable way between Taylor Lautner and Justin Bieber, as each walked the red carpet of the MTV Video Music Awards, looking as dashing as ever. The former was able to relax and simply enjoy the ceremony, while the latter took home the Moon Man for Best Male Video and also made Selena Gomez squirm with talk about his snake.
But which of these studs looked better at the event? You tell us.

The other won Best Pop Video and was given a special tribute.

MTV VMAs Fashion Face-Off: Kim Kardashian vs. Kreayshawn
At the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, Kim Kardashian made her first public appearance since getting married in a quaint, private ceremony last weekend. And she did it alone, without new husband Kris Humphries by her side.
Might there be trouble in E! ratings paradise?!?
As for her true love - posing on a red carpet - Kim sparked in a silver dress at the event, which was in contrast to Kreayshawn's Disney-inspired outfit. The Best New Artist nominee created major buzz with her fashion choice, but will it be enough to knock off Kardashian? You decide...
