We already knew that Kim Kardashian avoided Beyonce at the VMAs Sunday night. What we didn't know was the extent to which Kim's newfound hatred of Queen Bey was on full display at the award show.

For example, pretty much everyone who watched the event agrees that Beyonce's emotional acceptance of the Video Vanguard Award was the highlight of the night.

Everyone, that is, except for Kim who reportedly peaced out along with Kylie and Kendall Jenner just as Bey was about to begin her speech.

"I saw them leave before Beyonce's speech started," says one witness. "They were checked out for the whole show. They left just before she talked and Jay Z arrived to give her the award."

In case you're not already aware: Miley Cyrus brought a "homeless" man to the MTV Video Music Awards as part of her annual stunt spectacular and it backfired in countless ways:

For starters, no one explained to Miley that when people use the term "homeless youth" they're not referring to 22-year-old unemployed models.

Yes, Jesse Helt was never homeless. This, according to his mother who says Jesse had a home and family waiting for him in Salem, Oregon, should he ever decide to give up on his career goal of landing a modeling contract in LA.

After that bombshell revelation, we learned that there are several warrants out for Helt's arrest, as he apparently burglarized a home and then refused to complete his community service or fulfill the requirements of his probation.

But Miley says all of this is unimportant, because there are homeless people, y'all and won't someone please think of the children? Or something:

As previously reported, Beyonce fans came at Karrueche Tran HARD after Chris Brown's girlfriend recited a joke about her daughter, Blue Ivy, on BET.

BET's 106 & Park aired a segment entitled "top six things Blue Ivy thought about the VMAs," with Tran doing the honors of reading off the one-liners.

"'I really did wake up like this because my parents never combed my hair,'" Karrueche said as Blue Ivy, before laughing. "Sorry, Blue! I love you!"

  • Beyonce, Jay Z and Blue Ivy
  • Karrueche at the Club

Fans absolutely lost their minds on Karrueche, who Tweeted, "Now y'all know I LOVE me some Beyonce and Blue Ivy! I didn't write this script y'all lol"

Tran appeared flustered even as she read the joke on air, and it turns out she was right about not penning the joke. The network owned up to that.

Stephen G. Hill, president of music programming and specials for BET, took to Twitter to apologize and clear the air about what went down, writing:

It all started when Miley Cyrus had a "homeless" man give her acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night.

Many viewers pointed out that the man - 22-year-old Jesse Helt - looked more like he'd stepped out of the pages of GQ than the alleyways of Skid Row, but even so, Miley was widely praised for her efforts to call attention to the plight of the impoverished in America.

Miley Cyrus and Jesse Helt

Then the truth came out. Jesse Helt was never homeless. As many might have guessed from his appearance, he moved to LA to pursue a career in male modeling.

He fell on some hard times, but he had a home and living family waiting for him back in Oregon all the while.

Helt's mom revealed that he was never a homeless teen (as he'd implied in his speech) just this morning, but that wasn't the final bombshell revelation of the day:

Kim Kardashian and Beyonce had very different nights at the 2014 Video Music Awards.

  • Kim From the Neck Up
  • Beyonce Knowles Photograph

Earlier in the evening, Kim was slammed for texting during a tribute to slain teen Michael Brown.

Beyonce, on the other, hand received the Video Vanguard Award and closed out the show by performing a medley of her hits that was considered by many to be the the highlight of the event.

So yeah, it was a rough night to be utterly talentless and surrounded by people who are actually rich and famous for good reason.

But sources say jealousy wasn't the reason that Kim avoided Queen Bey like the plague:

Chris Brown's girlfriend Karrueche Tran appeared on BET Monday to discuss the VMAs, and made a crack about Blue Ivy Carter that some didn't care for.

Yes ... Karrueche dared to diss the blessed spawn of Jay Z and Beyonce.

  • Karrueche Tran: Smoking Hot!
  • Blue Ivy and Jay Z at VMAs

On the show 106 & Park, Tran was asked to take part in a skit entitled “Top Six Things Blue Ivy Thought At The VMAs.” Item #6 in particular was the problem.

As if it were two-year-old Blue Ivy Carter herself saying the words, Karrueche said, “I really did wake up like this, because my parents never comb my hair.”

106 & Park is known for over-the-line comedic skits, and Karrueche apologized right away, but that wasn't enough to stop the torrent of Twitter backlash.

Some of the choice comments directed at the model after that quote ...

Here we go again. Fresh off a selfless effort to raise awareness for homelessness at the VMAs, Miley is right back to feuding with other celebs.

Her latest victim is rising British pop star Ed Sheeran.

And while Miley's attack on Ed may not be as extreme as the time she tore apart a Selena Gomez doll on stage, it still gained plenty of attention from eagle-eyed VMA viewers.

Miley Cyrus Calls Ed Sheeran an A-hole?

Many claim that if you pay close attention to the above GIF, you can see Miley call Sheeran an "a--hole" as he heads to the stage to accept his award for Best Male Video.

So why might there be bad blood between Miley and Ed? Well, it all goes back to some blunt comments Ed made about Miley's twerk-tastic past in an interview last year:

At Sunday night's 2014 Video Music Awards, Miley Cyrus pulled a stunt that was far more unexpected than her Robin Thicke twerk-fest of the previous year.

After winning the Video of the Year award, Miley gave the stage to Jesse Helt - a 22-year-old homeless man who proceeded to give a stirring speech about the plight of impoverished Americans.

There's just one problem: Jesse's family claims he was never homeless and is welcome to return to Oregon to live with them, should he ever decide to give up on his male modeling career in LA.

"He wanted to be in Los Angeles," said Jesse's mother, Linda Helt, in an interview with The Daily Mail,  "He had opportunities and he took them, but he had his ups and downs like anyone else."

"It was his choice. He was always welcome. He could always come back at any time. If he needed help, I'd help him."

Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo walked the red carpet at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, and his band Maroon 5 played at the raucous event.

This was not unexpected in that the group has been one of the more popular rock-pop ensembles of the past decade, but given his past comments?

What a difference three years makes. In 2011, he was calling out the network for not caring about the music it famously hands out these awards for.

The 35-year-old Tweeted then: "the VMAs. one day a year when MTV pretends to still care about music. I'm drawing a line in the sand. f--k you VMAs's."

Apparently, that line is crossed with the passage of time, which heals all wounds. Or when a man and his rock band have an album to promote!

Whatever his motivation, the grudge is a thing of the past for Levine. Although The Voice coach did find a new VMA topic to take issue with on Twitter:

Pants.
