Bond 23, or the 23rd film in the 007 franchise, is getting closer by the day.

James Bond himself, Daniel Craig, was joined by director Sam Mendes at a news conference today to discuss some of the rumors surrounding the spy flick, currently slated for a November 2012 release in the United States.

Here are some spoilers gleaned from the Bond 23 press event:

Daniel Craig as James Bond Pic
  • The film will officially be called Skyfall. The title was leaked a few weeks ago, so this wasn't the biggest surprise. Still, let the speculation continue.
  • Judi Dench would be returning to reprise her role as Bond's superior. Javier Bardem is indeed on board as the secret agent's #1 nemesis, along with Ralph Fiennes, Albert Finney and French actress Bérénice Marlohe.
  • Skyfall will be shot in London, Shanghai, Turkey, Istanbul and Scotland.
  • Naomie Harris will be the latest Bond girl. Nickname TBA.
  • It won't have any connection to the previous two Bond films starring Craig.
  • In Skyfall, Bond's loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost may be.

Johnny Depp, who took audiences inside the world of Hunter S. Thompson in 1998's Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, returns to that warped paradise again this week.

The Oscar winner stars in The Rum Diary, based on Thompson's novel by the same name and centered around a journalist named Paul Kemp (a.k.a. Thompson).

Depp recently took THG's partner site, Movie Fanatic, on a journey to the alcohol-soaked paradise in Puerto Rico ... not literally, sadly. But he talked all about it.

This is a special film for Depp, who found the manuscript for what would be one of Thompson's final books, and for whom portraying his close friend is a true honor.

If you told Antonio Banderas a decade ago that he was going to still be playing Puss in Boots after his first appearance in Shrek 2, he'd have said you were crazy.

Fast forward to 2011, and Puss in Boots has his own film, opening Friday.

As a mother to a young daughter, his co-star Salma Hayek relished in the idea of playing an animated cat who torments, then teams up with hero Puss and Humpty Dumpty (Zack Galifianakis) to steal magic beans from Jack and Jill.

In an exclusive sit-down, both told our partner site all about what it was like to star as these fantastic felines alongside one another in such a fun movie for all ages.

Puss in Boots is not a film to be missed. Check out a couple of trailers below and follow the link for Movie Fanatic's Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek interview!

Kim Kardashian just showed us.

A day after she turned 31 and we mocked this reality star for scarcely accomplishing anything in life that didn't rely on her large boobs and marketing-savvy mother, Kardashian has landed a major movie role.

Kim Kardashian Birthday Pic

She will play one of the leads in The Marriage Counselor, Deadline reports, the next project written and directed by Tyler Perry. It is based on a play by the same name and centers around a twist on The Wedding Planner:

Jurnee Smollett will portray a marriage counselor who excels in her job, but not in her relationship. Kardashian will take on the role of this character's friend, Ava. The movie starts shooting next week in Atlanta.

Perry, of course, has grown into one of the most successful and influential men in Hollywood. His films (Why Did I Get Maried?, Madea's Family Reunion) typically cater to African-Americans, making Kim a natural fit. She knows all the ins and outs - ins and outs, ins and, oh yes yes, outs - of that community.

Who would win in a fight, Puss in Boots or Zorro?

It's an age-old question, and one that our partners at Movie Fanatic had the pleasure of asking in person this weekend on the Puss in Boots red carpet.

Speaking with both Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek, who return to the big screen as the hottest couple since El Mariachi and Carolina, was a surreal experience - on the deck of Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas ship in Fort Lauderdale, no less.

Follow the link to watch the film's trailer, then check out Movie Fanatic's interview with Antonio Banderas, the most interesting man/cat in the world ...

Brad Pitt is reportedly irate over a SWAT team raid in a Budapest, Hungary, warehouse that held weapons being used in his upcoming zombie movie, World War Z.

"The film is already over budget and over schedule," a source says. "Brad is furious."

Police seized 85 fully-functional weapons, most of them automatic, military style assault rifles, saying "We can confirm weapons were confiscated at an airport."

The problem with the guns arose a source says, is that they came with paperwork claiming they were non-functional - but they're actually in working order.

"This morning a private plane brought guns wrapped in a parcel from a company to an individual [in Budapest]," said the police. "Guns such as these are extremely illegal to transport even if they were to used as stage guns, which hopefully they weren't."

Brad Pitt is not to blame for the mixup.

"The movie company employees must have made a mistake bringing the guns in without the Anti-Terrorism Unit's permission," says a police spokesman. "We're interrogating witnesses now, getting closer to solving the firearms story."

The film starring Pitt, who nearly ignited World War J after his comments about being married to Jennifer Aniston, is scheduled for a December 2012 release.
