Troubled singer Mindy McCready will voluntarily surrender to authorities on Tuesday to serve 60 days in a Tennessee jail for a probation violation.

McCready said in a statement Monday morning:

"I have been working very hard to put all this behind me as quickly as possible so I can get back to doing what I like to do most: sing, write songs, and entertain."

"I would like to thank my fans for their unwavering support as I continue to work on my recovery and to regain custody of my precious son, Zander."

Considering that she tried to kill herself in the last story we posted on her, it's good to hear she is at least taking a step towards getting it together.

Mindy's never in the news for anything good. The country star, 32, was arrested for violating probation for prescription drug fraud in June.

McCready entered rehab July 16 for undisclosed reasons and was previously jailed in 2007 after violating probation on a 2004 drug arrest.

She also made headlines after it was disclosed that steroid fiend and lying, cheating, egomaniacal baseball star Roger Clemens had an affair with her - when McCready was very underage. That was one we certainly didn't see coming.

Struggling crooner and Roger Clemens mistress Mindy McCready is headed to rehab after trying to finish herself off with vodka and Ambien - and ding dang it, Dr. Phil's inserting himself into the whole shebang!

McCready went off the deep end late last week after getting dumped by her boyfriend and collapsed while on the telephone with her mother.

She downed a bottle of vods and pills in what sources say was a suicide attempt. This followed a pair of spectacular arrests earlier this year.

She's now headed to Arizona for treatment, and a source says that was all the brainchild of none other than Dr. Blowhard, er, Phil, himself.

Hoping to get some cash and publicity lend a helping hand, the selfless Phil has taken Mindy McCready under his wing as a "personal project."

As for whether or not she'll be on the show, time will tell. We just want him to take on DMX as his next pet project. Now that would be good TV.

In his first comments since being linked to numerous extramarital affairs last week, Roger Clemens acknowledged making "mistakes" in his personal life, apologizing to his family and the public in a prepared statement.

But, in case you were wondering, the seven-time Cy Young winner remained steadfast in his lies denials that he has used steroids or HGH.

"I know that many people want to know what I have to say about the recent articles in the media," Roger Clemens, who has four children with wife Debbie Clemens in the Houston area, told the Houston Chronicle.

Roger Clemens is alleged to have had an affair with Mindy McCready.

"Even though these articles contain many false accusations and mistakes, I need to say I have made mistakes in my personal life for which I am sorry. I have apologized to my family and apologize to my fans. Like everyone, I have flaws. I have sometimes made choices which have not been right," he said.

Clemens also addressed the notion that he may have started an improper relationship with country singer Mindy McCready when she was 15.

Following a shocking story that broke Monday, country singer Mindy McCready confirmed a long-term affair with embattled baseball star Roger Clemens.

"I cannot refute anything in the story," a tearful but resolute McCready told the New York Daily News, which reported that they met in a Florida karaoke bar when McCready was a 15-year-old aspiring singer.

Roger Clemens was a 28-year-old ace for the Boston Red Sox and already married to Debbie Clemens, with whom he has four kids, at the time.

"Yes, I have known Roger Clemens for a long time," McCready said. "He's a kind and caring man. He's also a legendary athlete. The central topic in the debate, however, regards his professional life, not his personal life.

"There are legal matters working their way through the system that have nothing to do with me. From my point of view, that is where the focus should remain."

After the teenage Mindy McCready met Roger Clemens at a Fort Myers, Fla., bar called The Hired Hand, she returned with the Rocket to his hotel room, but there was no sex that night, sources told The Daily News.

It wasn't until later, after Mindy McCready had moved to Nashville and become a country singing star, that the relationship turned intimate.

Sources say Mindy McCready also received hefty checks courtesy of Roger Clemens - some up to $25,000 - channeled to her through an intermediary.

Such an arrangement raises questions as to why Clemens would go through a third party to give McCready money if they were just friends.

McCready has suffered a long list of legal troubles, which included a 2004 arrest for fraud and jail time last year for violating probation.

Roger Clemens is under FBI investigation for perjury after denying, under oath, accusations by his former personal trainer, Brian McNamee, that the seven-time Cy Young Award winner used performance-enhancing drugs.

Baseball star Roger Clemens carried on a decade-long affair with country star Mindy McCready, beginning when she was a 15-year-old aspiring singer performing in a karaoke bar and Clemens was the 28-year-old Boston Red Sox ace and married father of two, according to a shocking report in the New York Daily News.

Vivid details of the affair could surface in several media projects that Mindy McCready is already involved with - including a documentary that begins filming today in Nashville, a new album and a reality show.

McCready, who lives on a quiet, tree-lined street in Nashville, Tenn., is attempting a comeback following a string of legal and personal woes.

Through his attorney Rusty Hardin on Sunday, Roger Clemens confirmed a long-term relationship but denied that it was of a sexual nature.

"He flatly denies having had any kind of an inappropriate relationship with her," Hardin told the Daily News. "He's considered her a close family friend... He has never had a sexual relationship with her."

The revelations could torpedo claims of an "unsullied character" that are central to the defamation suit Clemens filed January 6 against his former personal trainer Brian McNamee, who accuses him of steroid use.

Rusty Hardin said the Rocket's wife, Debbie Clemens (left), knew Mindy McCready (right) and that the singer had traveled on his plane.

From a PR standpoint, Clemens' decision to file the suit against McNamee the night the Rocket appeared with Mike Wallace on 60 Minutes could end up being the biggest risk he has taken yet in a bid to clear his name.

Under investigation for perjury, Roger Clemens already endured the ignominy of publicly throwing his wife under the bus - saying she took human growth hormone (HGH) - as well as having photos of bloody gauze and needles linked to him and undergoing scrutiny of an alleged injection-site abscess on his buttocks.

Some things are better the second time around. Singer Mindy McCready posed for her second mug shot in less than a week after she was taken into custody at Nashville International Airport last night for a probation violation.

Mindy was taken into custody last night, TMZ reports. She was arrested at the Nashville International Airport, as airport cops and Williamson County Sheriff's Deputies waited for her and promptly arrested her as departed her Southwest Airlines flight.

Police in Tennessee had been on the lookout for the former country singer after a warrant was issued for her arrest earlier Wednesday.

Authorities say Mindy McCready violated probation when she was arrested in Florida on charges of battery and resisting arrest, after getting into it with her mother ... and cops.

Guess Britney and Lynne Spears have a long way to go until they truly hit rock bottom, huh? Well, we're confident they can achieve this goal.

Records show McCready was sentenced to probation back in 2004 after being convicted on a prescription drug fraud charge. In the order, filed in Williamson County, Tenn., in November 2004, she was sentenced to three years probation - meaning she only had a few months left.

Mindy McCready was released on bail (set at $1,000) Saturday, according to TMZ, and is scheduled to appear in court August 14.

In an interview with WINK TV in Florida, McCready says she is considering filing charges against a Sheriff's deputy for what she calls brutality.

McCready told the TV station the bruises on her body were put there by deputies. She also says she was starved in jail and maced for no reason.

According to the Sheriff's Department, deputies were called to the house because of a domestic dispute. When they arrived, McCready's mother claimed her daughter became violent after drinking.

Officers say they saw scratches on the mother's face and say McCready's breath reeked of alcohol. McCready reportedly denied everything and called her mother "crazy."

Man, this sounds about 10 times worse than the ongoing feud between Lynne Spears and daughter Britney Spears. Except for the alcohol abuse part.

According to the TV station, McCready resisted arrest, and had to be restrained. That's when she hit her her head on the ground, which caused the gash on her face in her mug shot (above), which is one of the best celebrity mug shots we've seen in some time.

Mindy McCready was then taken to jail, where deputies say she acted so disruptive they were forced to use pepper spray to control her.

Yikes. It must be nice for Nicole Richie and her unborn child to see what they have to look forward to in the slammer.
