It's the least well-kept secret on the Internet: The Hollywood Gossip is not a big fan of Miley Cyrus.

For months, we railed against the singer's self-serving use of Twitter, as well as her general ego and inappropriate attire for a 16-year old.

But might our staff need to adjust to a world in which Cyrus serves as an actual role model?!? She deleted her Twitter account this month because she came to the mature realization that it's not healthy to tell the world about your every thought and action.

Over the weekend, meanwhile, Miley performed at the Concert For Hope, a charity event held at the Nokia Theatre in L.A. In a giving gesture, she sung "The Climb" on stage with a young cancer patient. Check it out:

The event benefitted cancer research and treatment programs at City of Hope, one of the country’s leading cancer centers.

Just like last year - when she raised over two million dollars - Miley is donating one dollar from every ticket sold during her Wonder World Tour to the organization.

It's an act of charity even our critical staff can't find a single thing wrong with. Now, if only Cyrus would do something about her young sister's Halloween costume...

In late September, Miley Cyrus ran off a stage in Utah because she was sick. She later Tweeted that she was in the "worst pain" she had ever felt.

Soon after the incident, Miley's co-star, Cody Linley, told KTLA.com that his pal had contracted the dreaded H1N1 virus.

"The next day she told me she had the swine flu," Linley said, referring to a conversation with Cyrus following the aforementioned concert.

However, earlier today, Miley's rep wanted to make something very clear: "She did not have swine flu."

Phew. Thank goodness this manufactured drama is cleared up. If only there was some social networking site on which Miley herself could update fans about her status.

Does anyone know of anything like that?

Miley Cyrus claims - heck, she raps! - that she deleted her Twitter account because she wants to keep her private life private.

This may be true, but there's another likely reason why Cyrus is no longer active on the social networking site: it's free. And she's greedy.

After all, why give away your thoughts and opinions for nothing, when you can charge fans $29.95 per year for membership on your blog?!?

Cyrus actually does this. She often updates MileyWorld.com with random musings, but she forces young followers to spend their allowance in order to read her website.

We know it's a bad economy, but not even the most attention-starved, money-hungry celebrities out there ask fans to pony up cash in order to access their sites.

Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian and even Spencer Pratt allow free, unlimited browsing of their official blogs. If you wanna make money off the Web, Miley, charge advertisers, not your fans.

Have you no shame?!?

Finally, Miley Cyrus has shut up about the deletion of her Twitter account.

Unfortunately, though, no one told John Mayer that he's a giant douchebag. Or that the nation is sick of hearing about the end of Cyrus Tweeting.

Asked by MTV about Miley's decision, Mayer rambled on with a defense of the Disney star. He said:

"I think she's smart enough to realize there is some interference of the brain that she doesn't want to deal with. Artists have enough to deal with. She's a child, she's a fantastic artist - I think there's enough mental real estate being taken up by dealing with all of that stuff."

Mayer wasn't finished making little sense. He added:

"For whatever reason, I am old enough and smart enough to tell someone to go f-ck themselves if they tell me to go f-ck myself. I think if you're in Miley's situation, it might take a little too much time to play goalie for your own heart and mind. So I totally get it.

"Nobody hates Miley Cyrus; they're just picking up on her brand, repurposing it, to try to make a little bit of Miley cash. It's damaging people's minds. Imagine Shannon Doherty with a Twitter account, back in the '90210' days. That would've just flat-out killed her."

Fortunately, instead of writing about her life, Doherty went out and lived it, acting like a bitch, making a sex tape and getting kicked off numerous shows.

As for Mayer, would he ever drop out of Twitter?

"I would rather tell the world to eat my a--hole before I would delete my Twitter account."

That's good to know. John Mayer cares more about his Twitter account than about his fans.

As Liam Hemsworth likely knows, Miley Cyrus knows a thing or two about sex.

Soon, movie fans will find this out for themselves.

Following various reports and rumors, it's now been confirmed that the Disney icon will make a cameo in the Sex and the City sequel.

She won't speak (thank goodness), but the singer will appear on the red carpet of an event... wearing the same dress as Samantha Jones, much to the chagrin of the latter character!

Cyrus actually modeled the dress in question for reporters this week. This is what you'll see her donning on screen:

Then the teen queen rapped about it in a YouTube video.

Then Billy Ray Cyrus, her dad, urged her to come back, because the world needs its Destiny and Hope. Yes, really. These people aren't at all self-important.

In a spoof of this riveting saga, Jimmy Fallon dressed up as Billy Ray and made a rap video of his own, looking to gobble up Miley's Twitter fans for himself!

The Late Night host donned a wig and a pair of dungarees in an attempt to get Miley's two million lost souls to support her country-singin' daddy instead.

Among the choice lyrics from the faux father of Miles:

"Hey there America, let's make this clear. Miley might be gone, but I'm still here ..." "As long as my heart's still beatin', I'm gonna be Tweetin' 'cause I got a full house like my name was Jodie Sweetin ... Achy-Breaky Tweets!"

Hey, did you hear that Miley Cyrus deleted her Twitter account?

For real. It's gone. History.

While the young singer's spirit is broken over fan reaction to this decision, she's sticking by it - and actually making sense in the process. After all, it's hard to appreciate life when you're constantly Tweeting about it.

In an interview with KISS 103.7 in Milwaukee last night, Cyrus explained her reasoning again:

“I’m just over tweeting on what I was doing instead of actually doing it. Like you can being hanging out with your little sister, but you’re not really because you’re tweeting about hanging out with your little sister. I complained that I wanted my private life more private but I’m the one who is giving the world access to it.”

We get it. You are no longer on Twitter. You really don't need to keep telling everyone about it.

A day after rapping - yes, rapping - about why she deleted her Twitter account, Cyrus has taken to her official website and posted the following message to fans:

"You all are the closest thing to my heart & it breaks my spirit to hear that some of you feel neglected since I deleted my twitter. It was a wonderful way to stay connected to you... In the end it is still a business and I do need some sort of a 'normal' life as well. I often complain to the ones closest to me that I don't seem to have much of a private life any more and part of that is my fault."

Shockingly, Cyrus continued to take responsibility about her self-obsessed whining, penning:

"How can I whine about my life being too public if I am the one telling the world what I am doing? I need to be able to live and learn in private. I never want to quit entertaining it is my life, my love, and my passion but I can't have my personal life be other peoples entertainment."

What about rumored boyfriend Liam Hemsworth?

"Liam is a wonderful friend and he did not try to make me delete my page, he just helped me realize how much time I was wasting on that site."

We rarely say this, but: good job, Miley! This is the most rational she has ever sounded.

According to Billy Ray Cyrus, his daughter is pretty much the Mother Teresa of Hollywood. She's the "light" in a dark universe and, therefore, should never have deleted her Twitter account.

Really, he said that.

But in a new video, Miley Cyrus explains why she will no longer Tweet to her fans. It's not because of pressure from boy toy Liam Hemsworth; it's because Cyrus wants to keep her private life private and is "living for me."

It's actually the most sense Miley has made in months, even if she had to do it in another attention-grabbing, self-serving manner...

Will you miss Miley on Twitter?

We make fun of Miley Cyrus because she's a self-obsessed, egotistical celebrity that thinks the world revolves around her.

Now we know why. Hours after his daughter deleted her Twitter account, Billy Ray Cyrus actually posted the following message on his:

Miley. You are light in a world of darkness. You were born 'Destiny Hope Cyrus' for a reason.You can't leave everyone now. We r countin on u.

Billy Ray is totally right. Miley shoud have won the Nobel Peace Prize instead of Obama. What kind of light does he offer?!?

Miley, you are the light, the hope and the salvation. Now, go put on your hooker boots, pose for a magazine and make daddy some money.

After all, does the President Tweet such life-altering messages as the kind Miley has published over the last few months? Some examples:

• “people that are so okay with being so hateful diguist me and need to spend last time on a gossip website and more time a. reading your bible."
• “Tears are words the heart can’t express. Why does saying goodbye hurt so much? Life will go on. You will smile again…we will smile again.”
• "I love when people mistake bravery with writing a few stupid tweets trying to make it seem like they don’t care. You’re afraid to love.”
• "I am laying in bed with my mommy right now scratching her bug bites.”

Miley isn't threatening suicide, nor is she even quitting acting and singing.

She's simply choosing to keep her private life more private, and Billy Ray acts as if the world will be impacted in a significant way.

The guy makes Michael Loahn look sane.
