Over the last few weeks, former fans of Miley Cyrus have turned against the Disney performer.

Many have clearly grown sick of her self-serving Twitter messages; her inappropriate acts on stage; her blatant lying over a relationship with Liam Hemsworth.

But we had no idea this tension extended all the way to Miley's supposedly best friends... until now! Over the weekend, Cyrus posted this photograph of herself and Demi Lovato on Twitter:

The image is months old, taken from a premiere of Miley's Hannah Montana movie, and it was accompanied by this message from Cyrus:

Now this is what true friendship looks like. None of that hollywood crap.** @ddlovato I miss you :)

Lovato's immediate, cryptic reply? Yeah... It's just kind of hard to miss somebody that I don't know anymore.

Ouch! Instead of asking the usual question - why are these two holding a private conversation over a public forum? - we're gonna focus on the reason why Demi might be mad at Miley.

She did break up with Cyrus' brother, Trace, in July. But the friendship seemed stable despite that awkward situation. Perhaps Lovato is simply as sick with Miley's antics as the rest of us.

After all, it must be difficult to remain close with someone that only thinks about herself.

Finally, Miley Cyrus has an idea of what it's like to sit through her endless, self-serving stream of Twitter posts.

Having come down with a case of strep throat, the singer has taken to her message board like never before; which is saying a lot for someone that cries herself a river on Twitter pretty much every day already.

Since being diagnosed with the ailment (which millions of people get every year and for which there's a simple antibiotic) late Tuesday night, Miley has Tweeted the following:

• "Woke up with a sore throat. Why am I always sick? Strep is the worst thing ever."
• "Laying in bed with @mommytish. She is my patience, my peace, and my LOVE. She is a miracle worker. Her 'cuddle time' is the best medicine."
• "These are the times that my daddy REALLY comes in handy. He made me smile through the worst pain I've ever felt."
• "Nurse Noah is taking good care of me tonight. I just put on a 'Snuggie' and ate a popsicle."

You know, Miles, it's hard to respect your privacy when you let us into every minutiae of your life.

We can say one nice thing about Cyrus:

During a performance in Salt Lake City on Tuesday, she turned pale, ran offstage - and managed to return to the stage 15 minutes later. Gotta give her props for that toughness.

But not much else.

A few days ago, in front of thousands of audience members, Miley Cyrus pretended to get railed from behind on stage.

The pop icon will continue this sexual theme in a few months, as the rumors of a cameo in the May 2010 Sex and the City sequel have been confirmed by GossipCop.com.

According to that website, Cyrus appears in one scene, donning the same outfit to a red carpet event as Kim Cattrall’s character, Samantha.

In the current script, Mario Cantone’s Anthony notices the coincidence and exclaims: “Mother of God:  She is wearing the same dress as Hannah Montana.”

The scene doesn't call for any dialogue from Miley, thank goodness. Producers likely didn't want any whining or self-centered Tweets to ruin the movie.

We were happy to hear that Miley Cyrus took the stripper pole out of her new concert tour. That thing was really inappripriate for a 16-year old.

But did she really have to replace it with a fake doggy style dance move?!?

We're not making this up. We wish we were. Fast forward to the 1:45 mark in the video below; watch Miley; and a fellow dancer and wonder what the heck they were thinking when this was choreographed...

In a recent interview, Cyrus said she wants people to respect her privacy.

If that's the case, why is she showing the world how she and Liam Hemsworth behave behind closed doors?!?

Note to Miley Cyrus: if you want people to respect your privacy, try keeping things private.

In an interview with the Associated Press, the singer - who posts every waking thought on Twitter and takes fans inside her closet for obnoxious YouTube videos - whined about the way she's treated.

"I think it is all about respect. People forget that when you are in the public eye; people forget you still have to respect people and you still have to (respect) their privacy," Cyrus said, citing zero examples of how she's been disrespected.

Cyrus had another message for critics: leave my parents alone!

"Trust the fact that my parents are raising me just like everyone else is raising their kids," she said. "They are doing it the way they want to. It is not for the media or for any one else to judge how they should or should not raise me."

As always, this is where Miley is disconnected from reality: she's not a normal teenager. She's a world famous celebrity. When she dances like a stripper, and her father defends the act, they both will be judged.

If you don't want the criticism, Miles, act like other singers your age - such as Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato - and stop creating such controversy.

Professionally, Cyrus hints at the end of Hannah Montana. She says she wants more adult movie parts.

"I love doing Hannah Montana, but I want to continue doing things that are a little bit more darker roles. That is kind of who I am and where I find most of my inspiration in movies like that."

Based on her upcoming movie, The Last Song, films are also where she finds her latest boy toy.

She introduced the song, and her stripping persona, at the 2009 Teen Choice Awards.

But Miley Cyrus waited to release the official music video for "Party in the USA" until last night's Dancing with the Stars results show.

Wearing a push-up bra, a low-cut shirt and cowboy boots, Miley is definitely making a statement in the video: I'm not a little girl anymore!

We have little doubt she'll deny it in a Tweet later today, but Miley Cyrus went public with Liam Hemsworth this week.

The Australian actor - who co-stars with Miley in The Last Song and who was spotted making out with her away from the set a couple weeks ago - was in the audience for the singer's concert in Los Angeles on Tuesday night.

At one point, prior to performing a single from the movie, Miley gushed about how life truly can imitate art - as a kissing montage between her and Hemsworth played behind her!

A source has confirmed to E! News that Hemsworth is officially Cyrus' boyfriend. This insider said the couple has been dating for more than three months.

Following the concert on Tuesday, Miley and Liam stopped by Hollywood hot spot Katsuya and were all "lovey-dovey," a witness said.

Sounds like Cyrus hasn't simply stolen another girl's man; she has no intention on giving him back!

The hate-filled crazies are back.

In July, at an Adam Lambert concert in San Jose, a group of protestors rallied outside and chanted about the singer's homosexuality. It was a pathetic display of close-minded bigotry.

Now, in the same city, the awful human beings have returned. This time, their target is Miley Cyrus.

Presumably because the singer wears revealing clothing, one man actually taunted a bevy of Miley's fans and screamed: Ask your parents where you're going when you die. Miley is going to Hell when she dies.

We wish we were kidding. See for yourself:

The Hollywood Gossip has made no secret of our disdain for Miley. She can be an incredibly self-centered, obnoxious individual.

But we don't wish any harm on the young celebrity. We certainly don't want her to rot in the fiery pits of Hell for all of eternity. That's just cruel.

As for the man above, however? We would pay to see him banished to a lifetime of watching Cyrus whine about her gigantic closet on an endless loop.

Miley Cyrus is a diva.

For once, we're not insulting the 16-year old singer. We're simply quoting her from earlier in the week, when she was asked about her performance on the 2009 VH1 Divas special and told USA Today:

“To be a diva, you have to pay your dues, but you don’t have to be older to have paid dues.”

What dues is Miley referring to? The difficulty in posting on Twitter every five seconds? Okay, now we're insulting her.

Cyrus joined Sheryl Crow, Jennifer Hudson, Jordin Sparks, Kelly Clarkson, Adele and Leona Lewis on stage last night during the VH1 event. First, though, she rocked the red carpet:

If we ever had Miley Cyrus on The Hollywood Gossip podcast (note to Head of Programming: create a The Hollywood Gossip podcast), we'd ask her the tough questions:

• Who is she dating?
• Did she cheat on Nick Jonas?
• Would she rather win a Grammy or an Oscar?
• Why does she suck so much?

But the singer appeared via satellite on The Jay Leno Show last night and was asked questions that were easier than Paris Hilton. To wit:

Who is her childhood idol? “Dolly Parton.”

What won't she eat? “Anything green.”

What's the weirdest thing she puts ketchup on? “Pizza.”

Does she have a curfew? “It depends if my mom is in a good mood or not. Like 12, but if my mom is being giving or I give like a really good smile sometimes I can weasel my way in a little later.”
