Earlier today, we saw Rihanna on Good Morning America recalling her assault at the hands of Chris Brown, and how difficult it was for her to break the cycle.

Asked about Rihanna last night on Larry King Live, Mariah Carey admitted she's faced her own difficult relationships, and that "abuse has several categories."

"[I have been abused] Emotionally, mentally," Mariah said in response to King's query of whether she had ever faced a situation similar to that of Rihanna.

Not unlike her battered counterpart, Carey says the hardest part was breaking free from ex-husband Tommy Mottola, whom she doesn't mention by name.

"You get into a situation and you feel locked in," she said.

"For me, to really get out was extremely difficult because there was connection that was not only a marriage, but a business thing where the person was completely in control of my life. I was in a situation where I wasn't let out of the house."

When asked for her thoughts on Rihanna's struggles, she reacts the way many of us have: "Yikes," she says, "I can't even imagine what she went through."

Carey isn't the only one to broach the topic of emotional abuse lately.

Hailey Glassman, Jon Gosselin's now-ex-girlfriend, made a similar allegeation against the d-bag around the time of their split. It's not something to take lightly.

In what is probably a good move for him, but a bad one for celebrity gossip sites who love a good feud, Nick Cannon took to (what else) his Twitter page to address the ongoing battle between his wife Mariah Carey and rapper Eminem.

Cannon Twittered various philosophical, Biblical quotes about rising above anger and not giving in to revenge: "Never take your own revenge, but rather give place unto the wrath," read one of his messages on the social networking site.

He also included a direct Bible quote, "'I will bless those that bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse.' Genesis 12:3" and insightful thoughts like:

"Those who feed into negativity must examine there [sic] purpose on this earth."

The Tweets are a reaction to Eminem's latest track, "The Warning," in which the rapper goes after the Cannons directly, and swears he had a previous relationship with the singer, with the nude Mariah Carey pictures to prove it even.

Eminem initially ripped Carey in the song "Bagpipes from Baghdad." Carey got revenge by portraying a stalker in her video "Obsessed" that looked remarkably like Eminem, though Carey and her husband have denied any parody.

Eminem has once again gone back to the seemingly endless well of celebrity disses and pulled out a new diatribe directed at Mr. and Mrs. Nick Cannon.

The reason (not that he's ever needed one) - he's firing back at Mariah Carey's recent Slim Shady-channeling video for her single, "Obsession."

In "The Warning," Eminem raps:

"I got the exact same tattoo that's on Nick's back, I'm obsessed now, oh gee, is that supposed to be me in the video with the goatee?"

He goes on to gloat about the time Mariah "was wild 'n' out before Nick" and when he himself gave Carey "somethin' to smile about." Wow.

This all started, we think, because Carey has made light of her reported relationship with Eminem back in 2001, and the rapper is clearly pissed.

Eminem gave Carey a shout-out in his recent tune "Bagpipes From Baghdad," which included a pointed suggestion to Cannon to "back the f*%k up."

Cannon responded in May that "homeboy is still obsessed with my wife."

A few days later, Eminem implied to listeners of the satellite radio show he was hosting that he had once urinated on the superstar. On purpose.

Back to Team Cannon. Earlier this year, Carey dressed up like Eminem and poked no small amount of fun at him in her music video for "Obsessed."

Which brings us to "The Warning," in which Eminem scaldingly raps:

"You probably think if I had something on you I woulda did it by now, on the contrary, Mary Poppins, I'm mixing our studio session down and sending it off to mastering to make it loud, enough dirt on you to murder you, this is what the f--k I do..."

"Mariah, it ever occur to you that I still have pictures?"

Oh, boy. "But if I'm embarrassing me, I'm embarrassing you and don't you dare say it isn't true," he continues later in the track.

"As long as the song's getting airplay I'm dissing you, I'm a hair away from getting carried away and getting sued, I was gonna stop at 16, this is 32, this is 34 bars, we ain't even a third of the way through."

Bottom line? Don't expect to outlast Eminem in a feud.

Mariah Carey is out for revenge against Eminem.

Dressing up in drag as the rapper while filming the music video for her song "Obsessed" in New York City, the singer took their feud to a new level.

The Mariah Carey tune's lyrics include this line:

"You're so lame. Ooh boy, why you so obsessed with me? Ohh finally found a girl you couldn't impress / Last man on the earth / still couldn't get this."

Ohh, snap. We have to say, her costume designer did one heck of a job.

Mariah Carey channels her inner Eminem. It's a pretty accurate depiction.

This is in response to when Eminem rapped about Mariah Carey - who he has said he briefly dated in 2001 - in his song "Bagpipes From Baghdad."

In that song, Eminem raps, "Mariah whatever happened to us. Why did we ever have to break-up? Nick Cannon, you better back the f**k up. I'm not playing, I want her back, you punk ... I wish you luck with that ... wh*re!"

Those lyrics prompted Carey's husband Nick Cannon to respond: "What type of grown... man lies about getting with a chick? Only Slim Lamey! LOL!"

Bet Eminem is still stinging inside and lying awake at night replaying that retort. He did admit later that he went too far in that song, at least. 

During a recent trip to Aspen, Colorado Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon proved they're a great match... literally!

The married pair of singers were spotted all over a town, donning matching outfits and looking adorable or vomit-inducing, depending on your point of view.

Whether they were wonders in white or radiant in red, the couple made its love - and similar fashion taste - apparent to all...

In the latest issue of Elle, Mariah Carey gushes about new husband Nick Cannon. Specifically, the singer praises her man for how perfect a father she predicts he will be.

"I couldn't imagine anybody that I've ever met being a better dad," Carey told the magazine, adding that she wants to raise her future children in a responsible, anti-Dina Lohan manner.

"You can get caught up in Hollywood-land or celebrity-land, and that's maybe not the best thing for kids, 'cause they didn't ask for it... I really feel like it's very important to be responsible and to think, 'Well, maybe if I do this it's not the best thing for my child.'"

We're shocked and proud to hear such sage words coming from Mariah.

Mariah Carey crooned about how a certain someone would "Always Be My Baby" during the 1990s.

Now, it sounds like the diva and new husband Nick Cannon will actually welcome babies into their universe.

The source of this information - but not that awful segue - is Nick's half-brother, Reuben Cannon, who told Us Weekly that Cannon "definitely wants kids."

"I am not sure exactly if now is the time," Reuben said. "Both of their careers are crazy right now."

Reuben added that Nick and Mariah have a "real and honest love" for each other and "that is what is going to keep them together."

This bodes well for the couple. Real love is a better foundation on which to build, as opposed to the TomKat foundation of real and honest public relations assistance.
