Seven athletes from Cameroon have disappeared while in Britain for the London Olympics, the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education said.

The seven Olympians - five boxers, a swimmer and a soccer player - are suspected of having vanished to stay in Europe for economic reasons.

"What began as rumor has finally turned out to be true. Seven Cameroonian athletes who participated at the 2012 London Olympic Games have disappeared from the Olympic Village," a ministry spokesman said.

A reserve goalkeeper for the women's soccer team, Drusille Ngako, was the first to vanish, before exhibition matches had even completed.

A few days later, swimmer Paul Ekane Edingue and his personal belongings were also not found in his room, according to news sources.

Five boxers eliminated from the 2012 Olympics - Thomas Essomba, Christian Donfack Adjoufack, Abdon Mewoli, Blaise Yepmou Mendouo and Serge Ambomo - disappeared on Sunday from the Olympic village.

International Olympic Committee officials said on Tuesday they had heard nothing about the athletes disappearing from the village.

"We are unaware of it," IOC spokesman Mark Adams said.

American fans may still be celebrating Alex Morgan's game-winning goal, which sent the United States into a Gold Medal showdown with Japan on Thursday.

But Christine Sinclair, who netted a hat trick for Canada in this semifinal soccer matchup, has a very different reaction to the outcome. She feels screwed by the referees.

Canadian Star

"We're disappointed and upset. We felt that the referee took it away from us," the Canadian captain tells the AFP. "We feel like we didn't lose, we feel like it was taken from us. It's a shame in a game like that, which is so important, that the ref decided the result before the game started."

Sinclair's beef stems from two key penalties called against Canada: First, a very unusual time-wasting penalty was called against goalie Erin McLeod. It resulted in a free kick for the U.S., which led to another controversial call, this one a hand ball.

"In an important match it's a disappointment that the referee had such an impact on it. We feel cheated," Sinclair said.

Canadian coach John Herdman backs up his star, referring to the whistle blows as "bizarre" and adding: "If the United States were honest, they'd know they got lucky."

Americans Aly Raisman and Gabby Douglas gave it their all on the balance beam at the London Olympics today. Did either come away with a medal?

Find out below if you want to know before it airs tonight ...

Aly Raisman and Gabby Douglas

As the final competitor of the event, Aly Raisman earned a bronze, but not until her score was adjusted amid controversy and she won a tie-breaker.

The very same one that screwed her out of a bronze earlier in the Olympics, as fate would have it. So what the heck happened on the balance beam?

Chinese gymnasts Deng Linlin and Sui Lu had posted scores of 15.6 and 15.5, virtually assuring themselves of silver and gold medals, respectively.

Romania's Catalina Ponor was third at 15.066, a score Aly Raisman had a good shot at beating. She came just up short, however, at 14.966.

The U.S. quickly put in an inquiry regarding the degree of difficulty score awarded to Aly and after the judges conferred, they raised it by 0.1.

London Olympics sensation Gabby Douglas' journey to become U.S. team and all-around individual gymnastics champion has come at considerable cost.

The two-time gold medalist spoke candidly about her family's tough times amid her quest for glory, including her mom current's financial woes.

"It was hard for us growing up ... my dad had left us, so he wasn't really in the picture anymore," the 16-year-old told the New York Post.

"So, my mom had to front all these bills," Gabby recalled. "My dad didn't really pay the child support. He was really short [on money]"

"It was definitely hard on my mom, taking care of me and my siblings."

Gabby's father, Timothy Douglas, was a military man who had been deployed to the Middle East when she was just nine years old.

Although the family had resided in Virginia Beach, Va., the future Olympic champion eventually moved to Des Moines, Iowa, to train.

Michael Phelps stepped out with Megan Rossee on his arm last night in London.

The newly-retired Olympic swimming legend, whose work in these games (and all future games) is done, made his red carpet debut with his very pretty, newly-revealed girlfriend Monday at an event for Speedo, one of Phelps' primary sponsors.

Here's Michael with Megan Rossee at the event ...

They didn't do much press, but Michael Phelps' girlfriend did say she's doing well so far handling the torrent of publicity after being identified.

The 27-year-old has been linked to seemingly endless women in recent years, but has probably dated none of them seriously. Training and all.

Now that he's won a record 22 Olympic medals and called it a career, perhaps that will change. Last night's public debut certainly suggests it.

"Megan and Michael have been taking things slow leading up to the Olympics, but they are excited to spend more time together," says a source.

"Megan is a beautiful person, inside and out."

They've supposedly been together five months, so it sounds like Phelps and Rossee are smitten! Here's hoping they enjoy their planned post-Olympic vacation.

Move over, Missy Franklin. You aren't the only Olympian receiving best wishes from the stars.

With Justin Bieber having recorded a video message for that swimming sensation, the cast of The CW's Vampire Diaries has now gone ahead and done the same for Gabby Douglas.

While the gymnast finished last in yesterday's uneven bars, she remains one of this year's U.S. darlings, capturing team Gold and individual Gold in the all-around competition. She gets back to it this evening and Ian Somerhalder and company are here to wish her and teammate Aly Raisman the very best of luck.

The U.S. Women's Soccer Team is poised for the rematch its been waiting for since last summer. But it took everything this team had to get there.

Earlier in the game, Megan Rapinoe scored in the 54th and 70th minutes, while Abby Wambach tied the match in the 80th for the Americans.

Okay, there's one thing more exciting than Alex Morgan nude pics.

Next up for the impressive squad? A Gold Medal showdown against Japan, who shocked the U.S. on penalty kicks and won the 2011 World Cup.

That match will take place at 7:45 p.m. local time in London. United States citizens might have sat down from cheering by them. Let's go, team! Bring it on home!

Oscar Pistorius of South Africa may not have captured a medal at the London Olympics, but you'd be hard pressed to find a bigger winner at the games, or in life.

This photo surfacing Sunday on Twitter proves it 1,000 times over.

It's an older image, but it resurfaced after Pistorius raced in the 400-meter semifinals. What Oscar Pistorius, a double amputee, did this week is immeasurable.

Because of him, Ellie Challs, the young girl he is seen racing here, can look up to a man who faced the same obstacles as her but refuse to accept limits:

Oscar Pistorius Runs With Girl

Pistorius, nicknamed the Blade Runner after his cutting-edge prosthetic sprinting legs, inspired more than fellow amputees with his effort at the Olympics.

Though he didn't make the final, he did run well enough to make the semis and held his own against the best in the world in his track and field event.

Kirani James, the man who won the semifinal Pistorius ran in, was so moved that after the race, he held up the nameplate from Pistorius' uniform to the crowd.

Michael Phelps is dating a 25-year old model named Megan Rossee.

How is this NOT the most pressing off-the-field-court/field/arena story of the 2012 London Olympics at the moment? Because Nick Delpopolo was given the boot from the Games after testing positive for marijuana.

And the U.S. judo team member hilariously claims it's due to the accidental ingestion of a pot brownie.

Nick Delpopolo Pic

Delpopolo was expelled from the Olympics last week, while his accreditation was stripped and his seventh place finish expunged. But the 23-year old swears he never meant to get high.

The dirty test was "caused by my inadvertent consumption of food that I did not realize had been baked with marijuana," Delpopolo says in a statement, taking responsibility for his actions and adding:

"I apologize to U.S. Olympic Committee, to my teammates, and to my fans, and I am embarrassed by this mistake."

He's probably really hungry right about now as well.

Michael Phelps' girlfriend Megan Rossee gives him even more reasons to smile than 22 Olympic medals. Well, close to it anyway, if they're actually dating.

Following his record-setting run at the 2012 London Summer Olympic Games, Michael Phelps was spotted out celebrating with a “mystery blonde.”

Thanks to Hollyscoop, we know that lady's name, and what she looks like!

Here's Phelps with Megan Rossee, a 25-year-old model and L.A. resident:

Michael Phelps, Girlfriend Megan Rossee

"She and Phelps began dating in January (of this year) and things started to heat up just prior to the Olympics in London," says the source.

Hilariously, Megan was in a love triangle with Phelps and Lauren Conrad's ex!

"At the time when they began dating, [The Hills'] Doug Reinhardt was crushing on her too, but she chose to be with Michael instead."

According to the celebrity gossip site, Phelps was smitten from the start:

"Michael knew that he had to leave for the Olympics and not wanting to give up on their relationship, he flew Megan out to the trials in Omaha, then to London for The Games."

A candid photo of Michael Phelps, girlfriend and medals in hand, shows him celebrating in London and beaming for the camera. Aww.

“Yay Michael” Megan’s caption reads.
