A Virginia Tech student recently asked Nirvana to record a video shout-out ... and may or may not be under the impression that Kurt Cobain is alive and/or a woman.

Nirvana's former label, Sub Pop, posted the letter they got from the VT student asking them to record this message to university students:

  • VT Letter
  • Kurt Cobain Picture

"What's up, Virginia Tech? This is Nirvana! Just wanted to wish you guys a Happy Homecoming Week and good luck at the game this Saturday. LETS [sic] GO HOKIES!"

The student would be happy to link back to Nirvana's Facebook and Twitter accounts, they said, and then added this kicker to further make the case:

"It presents great publicity for them, as well as Virginia Tech loves Nirvana. We'd love to have her in our video." Alongside the Ying Yang Twins, no less.

Grumppuccino, the official coffee, mocha and vanilla beverage of surly Internet sensation Grumpy Cat, is coming to the market in September.

Grumppuccino

Blending coffee, mocha and vanilla flavors and featuring Grumpy Cat's famous meme-inspiring mug, the drink will be sold in stores and online.

The signature caffeinated beverage is another career accomplishment for Grumps (a.k.a. Tardar Sauce), who is also starring in webisodes for Friskies.

She also met Ian Somerhalder at SXSW.

In "Furred Lines," a group of dogs cover Robin Thicke's summer anthem "Blurred Lines."

It's not nearly as likely to be banned by YouTube as the original, but it may also go viral!

In The Pet Collective's furry, funny parody, suggestive "Blurred Lines" lyrics like "you're a good girl" take on an entirely new meaning. Think about it.

"Stay if you want it. Sit if you want it. Beg if you want it." You're an animal.

Dogs also recently covered the Miley Cyrus Twerking ballad "We Can't Stop" with their own rendition "We Can Bark." We sense a theme here.

There are some people out there who rather spend their time without the constraints of clothing. Far be it for me to deny them that opportunity.

However, there are plenty of people down in Florida (why is it always Florida?) that are none too happy about the nude bed and breakfast they have as neighbors.

Naked Bed and Breakfast

Technically it is a "naked hangout club" according to the home's owners Terry Engels and Chip Malinowski and they offer the rooms for $99 a night.

The stripper who saved $1 million in singles could be rewarded even more handsomely for her efforts if the 2008 GOP Presidential nominee has his way.

John McCain is promoting the COINS Act, which would replace the $1 bill with a dollar coin, which would hopefully lead to bigger tips for exotic dancers.

John McCain Thumbs Up

The real impetus is to save billions in printing costs, but The Hill actually asked McCain about a 2011 study suggesting strippers could suffer in a bill-less economy.

For his part, the U.S. Senator from Arizona responded in stride in a Capitol Hill hallway: "Then I hope that they could obtain larger denominations."

McCain, 76, started answering questions from another reporter before a smile spread across his face and he shouted to The Hill, "Fives, tens, one hundreds!"

We all know that cats aren't the most friendly (just check out this cat's indifference to its owner returning), but this story just confirms what we already believed.

Angry cat

A woman in France was out walking her dog last weekend when all of a sudden a roaming gang of street cats attacked her.

No need for knives in this fight, the cats tore the women's limbs like chicken for salad with their claws. They even nicked an artery. An artery!

The dog, being a typical poodle, was useless and had to be treated for injuries by a local veterinarian.

Is this attack a sign of things to come in feline/human relations?

Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul sat down with Jay Leno on The Tonight Show this week, and was quickly reminded of how far he's come as an actor.

Mostly in a good way.

Jay unearthed a hilarious vintage clip of the 33-year-old playing a student in the high school production of Romeo & Juliet on Beverly Hills, 90210.

Breaking Bad Season 5, it was not - and both the clip and Paul's reaction were priceless. As Leno told the Emmy nominee, maybe he'll win Most Improved ...

Penises are back in the news, thanks to Siobhan Riley of Michigan's WJRT.

The reporter was explaining to viewers how Saginaw roads have been affected by ongoing construction, drawing the problematic areas on her touchscreen...

... only the end result looked a lot more like a part of the male anatomy than anything involving bumper-to-bumper vehicles. See for yourself:

Earlier this month, a snake hid in a toilet and bit a man's penis, while a Subway employee placed his penis on a sandwich bun.

We can only assume Riley is an avid THG reader and these stories were subconsciously lodged in her brain.

Jennifer Lawrence has already been fully embraced as the "everygirl".

When we see things like this video of her getting legitimately star-struck after seeing Jeff Bridges at a Comic-Con event, it just cements her in that role.

Skip ahead to the 2:25 mark and watch it all go down:

Lawrence, there to promote her many movies, and of course for the premiere of the newest Catching Fire trailer, delights in taking over an interview with Bridges.
