Britney Spears has been called out for sloppy lip-syncing many times in recent years, and especially in the last year since she kicked off her  Las Vegas residency.

This could be the craziest example yet, however.

During a video of Saturday night’s "Piece of Me" concert performance at Planet Hollywood, the 32-year-old star struts around, holding her microphone.

While "Britney" is seen crooning to her song “Perfume,” it's actually Australian artist Sia’s voice that is heard booming through the theater in the clip above.

At least according to fans who went ballistic.

Sia was featured on an acoustic version of the tune released in January, and also co-wrote the lyrics, so her connection to the track is well documented.

Still, fans were very far from impressed with Britney Spears lip syncing, even if it's far from news at this point that she does so and not even carefully.

Breaking news: Britney Spears is NOT an amazing vocalist ... said nobody, ever. Shocking, it's not, but this recently leaked track is still worth a listen.

A recording of Britney singing her song "Alien" with no autotune has leaked, and wow. Just wow. This could not even earn a callback on American Idol:

It's unclear why or exactly when, but the 32-year-old pop sensation's unedited vocal version of "Alien" hit the web this week, and gave it goose bumps.

Not the good, Ariana Grande-style vocal goose bumps, either.

The song from the mother-of-two's most recent album, Britney Jean, can be heard in its official, auto-tuned glory after the jump, for comparison:

Honesty. It may be the most important quality in a news anchor.

So it's refreshing to hear NBC's Brian Williams open up to America and admit in the following video: He loves big butts. And he simply can't lie.

Yes, Jimmy Fallon is back with a new Brian Williams lip dub, splicing together numerous clips of the journalist to make him rap the Sir Mix-a-Lot classic "Baby Got Back."

How does this lip dub compare to past version of "Rapper's Delight" and/or "Gin and Juice?" Watch and decide now!

A few days ago, Sir Mix-a-Lot actually brought this hit back from the dead when he performed Baby Got Back with an orchestra.

Paul Rudd left Jimmy Fallon speechless last night ... as well as himself. Sort of literally! The actor and Tonight Show host dueled it out in an epic lip-sync off!

As he's done against John Krasinski and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Fallon took on Rudd in a lip sync battle featuring classic tunes from Tina Turner and Queen.

Check it out below, laugh out loud and see who emerged on top:

Rudd, 44, started off the competition with Turner's "You Better Be Good to Me," while Fallon, 39, turned up the heat with Foreigner's "Juke Box Hero."

It was the actor's rendition of Queen's "Don't Stop Me Now," however, that was as hilarious as anything you will see if you watch Anchorman online.

Seriously, Britney Spears. THIS is how you lip-sync. With FEELING.

With leaps, jazz hands, pelvic thrusts, and butt slaps, he brought the house down and Fallon immediately conceded to his guest's stellar performance.

Truly, it was a sight to behold. Not unlike these last lip-sync battles:

This is not the first video of Britney Spears lip syncing in Las Vegas that we've shown you, and we can all but guarantee that it won't be the last, either.

It's not particularly noteworthy, scandalous or surprising that the "singer" does not sing in concert. People know this and still buy the tickets to see her.

Something about Britney Spears lip syncing SO OBVIOUSLY keeps the videos coming, though; it's almost become a fun game amongst the crowd.

Here's her latest epic fail, immortalized on Instagram:

Brit-Brit at least appeared to singing along to "Alien" during her Piece of Me show and during a break in the song, she stopped to wave to her fans.

But, not unlike the Britney clip we posted last week when her headset came off, the vocal track started up when the mic was away from her face!

If anything, they should at least work on her timing.

Lip-syncing rumors continue to dog Britney Spears.

After a rash of reports circulated that Brit wasn't singing live when she kicked off her Las Vegas residency late last year, a new video has gone viral.

The clip shows a Britney Spears wardrobe malfunction of the technical sort, as her mic pack flew off of her waistband, pulling her earpiece away from her mouth.

Of course, her vocals didn't change AT ALL. Watch:

Commenters on Instagram were quick to call her out.

“#Lipsyncforyourlife” @andres_santana_ wrote.

Another commented, “Playback or nothing!”

Britney Spears lip syncing accounts are not new, or surprising, but before “Piece of Me” residency began, her reps were insisting she would be singing live.

Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea is speaking out in response to criticism that the band mimed its Super Bowl performance alongside Bruno Mars.

There's no mystery. They did mime it, Flea concedes. And he sort of hates himself for it, but had no choice and still thought it was a cool experience.

Unlike some previous halftime performances (and Britney Spears lip syncing every night), the Chili Peppers did feature Anthony Kiedis singing live.

It was Flea, Chad Smith and Josh Klinghoffer who were playing air bass, drums and guitar, respectively. Some viewers felt this was extremely lame.

Flea will agree with you, but at the same time, says it was the NFL's way or nothing when it came to the Bruno Mars halftime show performance.

Here's what he wrote to RHCP fans regarding the miming:

Britney Spears officially launched her Las Vegas residency on Friday night, and music critics are pretty sure that she lip-synced the entire performance.

Britney Spears Wardrobe Malfunction
Britney Spears suffers a wardrobe malfunction in Las Vegas during her "Piece of Me" show. Check this out!

This is not a surprise, as it's what Britney Spears does. But her manager, Larry Rudolph, previously stated that Spears would be singing live, claiming:

"There might be some numbers where she's full out dancing with a (vocal) track underneath her, but there won't be any lip-syncing across the board."

However, observers at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Sin City over the weekend said she was in fact lip-syncing across the board.

So maybe that's why Katy Perry was not impressed?

Excerpts from some reviews of her opening night:

Video captured Katy Perry lip-syncing not once but twice at the NRJ Music Awards in France, as it became obvious she was not lined up with the track.

What happened was Katy was performing "Roar" and very obviously lip-syncing. That's not what makes this noteworthy, as it happens to a lot of stars.

But what happened here is that, incredibly, the host of the show walked in, stopped the whole performance, and made her start over from the beginning!

Using her real voice. It was just really awkward ...

Needless to say, Katy Perry looked embarrassed, and didn't sing that well, but after being humiliated in front of thousands like that, and being sick?

Hard not to feel for her. She's a performer, and a brand, and a great girl, but not a live vocal standout. Never has been ... and to be put on the spot like that?

Just bad. And not Perry's fault, in the opinion of THG.

What do you think above the above clip? Discuss!

Whether it makes any difference or not is an open question, but many people feel Eminem lip-synced his performance on Saturday Night Live this weekend.

While the critics generally loved Kerry Washington on SNL, Eminem received mixed reviews after taking the stage to perform his new hit single "Berzerk."

No one's likening the "Rap God" to Milli Vanilli, who couldn't sing in the studio either, or to Britney Spears (you gotta hear her actual vocals), but still.

Take a look below and see if you think it's as obvious as we think:

At times, when the rapper pulled the mic away from his mouth, it sure sounded and looked like the vocals continued at full volume. Even so ... does it matter?

People's view of lip-syncing seems to vary on a case-by-case basis.

Some stars get torn apart for it, others don't. If it's the Super Bowl, people TWEAK. Other times, less so. Similarly, some mask it better than others.

You tell us: Was Eminem lip-syncing on SNL, and does it matter?
