Considering her penchant for drugs, alcohol and promiscuity, Lindsay Lohan has never really been considered a role model.

As The Hollywood Gossip has mentioned previously, though, the actress' relationship with Samantha Ronson appears to have calmed her down a bit. Moreover, her plea this week for everyone to get out there and vote has earned Lohan our admiration.

"I cannot say how important it is for everyone to get out there," Lindsay wrote in a MySpace blog. "Vote – because your thoughts are worth it. VOTE – because YOU can make this country a better place. VOTE – because you can."

The Mean Girls star also urged readers to vote down a pair of initiatives on the California ballot: Proposition 8 (which attempts to ban gay marriage) and Proposition 4 (which requires parents to get 48-hours notice before any doctor performs an abortion on a minor).

"Just one vote can make such a difference," writes Lohan, a proud Barack Obama supporter.

Despite reports of a feud between Lindsay Lohan and America Ferrera on the set of Ugly Betty, Dina Lohan says her daughter had fun working on the show.

"It was just silly," Dina Lohan said. "America's a doll. And when they said [Lindsay Lohan] brought a posse with her, it was my mother and myself, and [sister Ali Lohan]. It was not a posse. We had sushi and no one trashed the room."

Dina adds that Lindsay doesn't know why her six-episode guest stint on the ABC show was cut to four, but says the actress enjoyed her time there.

"She had fun on Ugly Betty," says Dina at Animal Fair magazine's Halloween Pet Costume Party in New York City. "It was long hours and when you're on a movie set it's a lot different. She's not used to TV, but it was fun."

As for Lindsay's relationship with her girlfriend, Michael Lohan isn't the only parent signing off on the girl-on-girl action - Dina approves as well.

"We've known the family for years, so it's great," says the White Oprah of Samantha Ronson. "Sam is so tough and smart. "She's a sweetheart."

Adds sister Ali Lohan, "We just want to make a $h!tload of money Lindsay to be happy. Whatever she is happy doing, we're happy with."

Perennial Father of the Year candidate Michael Lohan has apologized for calling his daughter Lindsay's girlfriend Sam Ronson "a drug" earlier this summer.

"I regret all the things I said about Samantha," Michael told New York Magazine.

"I'm a Christian. I should not be passing judgment on anyone."

Agreed, Michael. Except Dina Lohan. That would be okay.

In September, LiLo's estranged dad went off on Samantha Ronson, calling her a "dark, hideous and a disgusting representation of humanity."

Lindsay Lohan snapped back, calling her dad a "coward" on - what else - her MySpace celebrity blog. Michael says he now knows better than this.

"In the past, I felt that the best way to get to her was to speak out publicly, though the media," Michael said. "And it was the wrong choice."

Good to see that Michael, for all his faults, has seen the light and is now more tolerant of his daughter's embracing of girl-on-girl action.

Amid rumors of bad behavior on the set and having her number of appearances cut from six to four, Lindsay Lohan shined on last night's episode of Ugly Betty.

Reprising her role as Kimmie Keegan - who used to torment Betty Suarez (America Ferrera) in high school and now works with her at Mode - Lindsay found herself in familiar territory: acting like a diva in the celebrity gossip spotlight.

Reportedly, everyone on the set of Ugly Betty has seen Lindsay Lohan nude.

But we'll get to that in a moment.

According to The New York Post, Lohan's behavior on the set of the ABC show has been so abysmal that the series has cut the number of episodes she'll appear on from six to four.

“It was a mess. Lindsay would show up every day with an entourage of people," a source said. "She smoked 24/7, and after she left, they had to repaint her dressing room it was such a mess... [Lindsay] would obsessively cut pictures of herself out of the tabloids like she was creating some sort of scrapbook and refused to go on set until [America Ferrera] was there - it was a power play.”

We buy the entourage, and the smoking; but they had to repaint Lohan's dressing room? For what possible reason?

The insider said that a scene in a future Ugly Betty episode involves Ferrera's character pulling down the pants of Lohan's character; but when the action took place, “Lindsay wasn’t wearing any underwear,” and the entire crew learned why she's referred to as "Firecrotch."

However, a friend of Lindsay's countered that accusation:

"Lindsay wears underwear all the time now. She was wearing a G-string. And it was America’s fault. They were rehearsing the scene and America wasn’t supposed to pull Lindsay’s pants down - but she did. Lindsay was so embarrassed, she started crying.”

Is Lindsay Lohan still willing to accept male genitalia?

Hours before raving about girlfriend Samantha Ronson on her blog, LiLo flirted hard with Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford, The Mirror (UK) reports.

The troubled 22-year-old star, who recently “came out” about her girl-on-girl action with the British DJ, has also got a crush on chiselled Chace, 23.

After meeting him at the Diesel XXX party in New York, the pair swapped numbers – and she has been calling him up to four times a day ever since.

A party mole says: “Lindsay took a real shine to Chace and was pretty much throwing herself at him all night. She was standing in such a way that some part of her body was always touching him – at one point hip to hip."

The Mean Girls star was also talking dirty: “She was also giving him the filthiest looks, whispering in his ear, and turning everything he said into an innuendo."

“Everyone on the Gossip Girl set as been teasing him mercilessly as Lindsay has been calling him 3-4 times a day and sending provocative text messages."

As a result, Chace Crawford has been advised to stay away from Lindsay and give her and Samantha Ronson "a wide berth.” The Mirror also says Lohan pulled this act with Michael Phelps, texting him 24-7 and begging for a date.

Lindsay Lohan is not an awful actress. There, we said it.

We've been on Lindsay Lohan's side for the last few months.

The actress' relationship with Samantha Ronson appears sincere and affection; it's grounded Lohan.

But we can't support a single item in the following ensemble. It seems like a cruel joke that the photo below was taken from Lindsay's premiere of her legging collection in New York City yesterday.

“I love to wear leggings, so it should come as no surprise that my first venture into the world of fashion design is with leggings!” Lohan said of the fashion line known as "6126." “Our holiday collection is pretty eclectic from gold zippers to leather detailing, to buttery soft cashmere. I hope you enjoy the collection as much as I enjoyed making it.”

We don't.

Which is the ugliest part of this ensemble?

Sorry Wilmer Valderrama, Harry Morton, Jude Law, AJ Lamas, Calum Best and numerous other men.

But OK! reports that Lindsay Lohan has finally found stability and happiness with Samantha Ronson.

“This is the first healthy relationship Lindsay has ever had,” a true friend of Lindsay's told the tabloid. “Both Lindsay and Samantha have total mutual respect and love for each other. All the nonsense Lindsay’s had in past relationships – the crazy fights, cheating and general immaturity – is totally absent. This is the real thing.”

Another source says this couple, which is yet to officially announce itself to the world, has told a few loved ones about their relationship.

Meanwhile, Lohan and Ronson were spotted together at Disneyland in late September. Said a witness to their canoodling:

"They had a blast, taking photos of each other, going on all the rides, like Space Mountain and the Pirates of the Caribbean. They spent about four hours in the park. Before they left, they bought each other candy.”

That's a sign of true love if we ever heard one.
