Leighton Meester (an adorable Minka Kelly look-alike) plays the queen of mean, Blair Waldorf, on the CW shot Gossip Girl. Blair is known for her status as the ruler of her school's social elite - and for her discerning fashion tastes.

This one, though? What is Blair going for? Is this a sailor-inspired dress? A safari hat? Is she sailing to Africa and then embarking on a wildlife excursion? And what's with the gloves? There's a fine line between trendy and silly on Gossip Girl.

The best news of all? We believe both ladies are single! Rumors that Leighton and co-star Chace Crawford were dating have fizzled (as he romances Carrie Underwood), while Minka Kelly just broke up with John Mayer! Nice!

Yes, he's dreamy, she admits. But Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester is deflecting talk of a real-life romance with her co-star, Chace Crawford.

"For the record, it's not true!" Meester told People at The Help Group's Annual Teddy Bear Ball, where CW chief Dawn Ostroff was being honored.

This admission by Leighton Meester follows a story in yesterday's New York Post suggesting that Crawford and Carrie Underwood had broken up and that Leighton Meester had been seen kissing her Gossip Girl co-star off-set.

Leighton Meester does call Chace Crawford one of her favorite co-stars.

"I'm really close to Chace," Leighton said. "We're really good friends."

The two attended the Teddy Bear gala, though there were no palpable signs of them dating, such as Chace and Leighton sucking face or anything. It didn't happen.

Crawford, who has been spotted Carrie Underwood many times this fall, sat next to another Gossip Girl co-star, Blake Lively, while Meester sat across the table.

Lively, for one, says she's sick of all this celebrity gossip.

"One thing I've noticed is that fans kind of want everybody to be their character," she said. "Like Leighton [dating] Chace, and me and Leighton hating each other. Those are our characters on the show. That's not us in real life."

The always cute cast of Gossip Girl made the trip out to Long Island City, Queens, on Friday to shoot a series of holiday ads for the Gap. Check 'em out ...

The lovely and stylish Blake Lively, 20, was seen wearing a red suede coat, a gray sweater, metallic gloves and a plaid tie as she enjoyed a candy cane (left).

Meanwhile, Minka Kelly look-alike Leighton Meester, 21, wore a navy school girl uniform with matching red accessories â€" patent leather tote, bow belt and ribbon hair band. Those prep school uniforms are ... something else.

These two young beauties together - along with an entertaining, funny show that doesn't take itself too seriously - make Gossip Girl a weekly must-see!
