Despite rumors that she's itching to get back on MTV, despite the fact she was dying to get off it, two reality shows really were enough for Lauren Conrad.

In Touch recently reported that MTV has offered the former Laguna Beach and The Hills star a Newlyweds-style show if she and Kyle Howard tie the knot.

"No," Conrad said Wednesday when asked if the report was true.

Little room for misinterpretation there.

Lauren, who attended Nanette Lepore's NYC fashion show last night in New York, said it's been nice not having the cameras follow her every move.

She says that she probably won't even watch the new season of The Hills, which starts September 29 and now stars former rival Kristin Cavallari.

"When you've been a part of a show, it's different," Lauren Conrad said.

"It takes the entertainment factor out of it."

Unlike Jon and Kate Gosselin, when Lauren Conrad decided she did not want to have her every move documented, she quit the reality show she was on, rather than complaining about celebrity gossip tabloids to celebrity gossip tabloids.

We're just saying.

Despite her retirement after Sunday's season finale, the former star of The Hills is still going to be seen out and about now and then, we would guess.

Case in point? She was modeling clothes for boyfriend Kyle Howard during a shopping trip at the Alice + Olivia store at the Malibu Lumber Yard.

Conrad's relationship with Kyle Howard likely played a role in her decision to leave The Hills, as he cannot appear on it (being under contract for TBS' comedy, My Boys).

The 23-year-old beauty seemed super-comfortable in front of her boyfriend, who sat on the couch enjoying her private fashion show. Lucky stiff.

The couple also snapped photos of children's dresses before leaving.

"The two looked like they were in were in love, sneaking kisses here and there," an onlooker said of Lauren Conrad and Kyle Howard.

Since he can't appear on The Hills due to the fact that he stars on another TV show (My Boys), we don't see too much of Lauren Conrad's beau Kyle Howard.

That said, we were excited to see the two turn up at MyHouse in L.A. for the Havianas and Details cocktail party, where Kyle was one of the guests of honor.

The 31-year-old actor worked the room while Lauren Conrad was content to chat with some female pals and do some people-watching from her seat.

But Kyle Howard didn't ignore his girlfriend, who's retiring from The Hills this month. He made sure she had a drink and always found time to give her a kiss.

Conrad, meanwhile, acted supportively – ceding the spotlight to Kyle Howard and letting him do the mingling thing. LC also sort of confirmed that night that co-star Audrina Patridge and Chris Pine are together now, so that was cool!

As we reported yesterday, The Hills star Lauren Conrad will be discontinuing or at least placing her clothing line, The Lauren Conrad Collection, on an indefinite hiatus starting this spring, citing America's difficult economic times.

Some fashion showrooms got a message from her reps saying, “In light of the economic climate, Lauren has decided to completely rethink her line.”

A Page Six source added that, “With everything going on in the economy and in her life, she wants to rework her line and offerings going forward.”

Lauren Conrad looks amazing in this dress she designed, if you ask us, but her clothing line is still being put on hold for the time being due to rough sales forecasts.

One thing she's not rethinking? Her love life. Kyle Howard has been dating Lauren for some time now, and as the pictures below show, they're as happy as ever.

The two shared kisses and beer (what combination could be finer) at bar in Hollywood on Sunday, then went for a stroll with a friend. Don't you just love them?

Sources say Lauren Conrad was spotted hanging with her Hills crew - plus boyfriend Kyle Howard - at West Hollywood's Crown Bar over the weekend.

The reality star grabbed a table with Lauren "Lo" Bosworth, Frankie Delgado and Doug Reinhardt, who was getting cozy with Amanda Bynes. Seriously.

Eventually, Lauren Conrad and her group moved to the dance floor, forming a circle, while Kyle Howard headed outside to chat with some guy friends.

LC'S BOY: Though seldom seen together by celebrity gossip photographers, The Hills' Lauren Conrad and My Boys' Kyle Howard are still an affectionate item.

When Howard returned and Conrad finished dancing to classic songs like Madonna's "Holiday," the duo reunited, sitting very close, smiling and talking.

Also at Crown Bar were Heroes star Hayden Panettiere, who made a brief appearance but mostly was interested in texting people on her phone, 90210 actress AnnaLynne McCord, plus rocker twins Joel and Benji Madden.

Phew. Brody Jenner, Hollywood's Womanizer-in-Chief, is supportive of his ex-girlfriend Lauren Conrad's latest romance with My Boys actor Kyle Howard.

"He's cool. I like him a lot," he said at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach's grand opening. "I see him surfing out in Malibu all the time. He's a very cool guy."

But he says Kyle Howard won't be appearing on The Hills.

"He's an actor," Jenner said. "Actors don't go on reality shows."

Does the same thing apply to Brody Jenner's newest girlfriend, the gorgeous Playboy Playmate of the Year, Jayde Nicole?

"I don't know about that," he said.

But Jenner's got a new mission. Now that he's with Jayde, and Lauren Conrad, with whom he has always remained close friends, is happy with Kyle, Jenner said he wants to find someone special for BFF Frankie Delgado.

He said he hit Saturday's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show "to find him a girl."

Lauren Conrad and Kyle Howard, star of My Boys and her boyfriend of several months now, are going strong. But don't look for him on The Hills anytime soon.

"There's very little that I'm able to keep to myself through the show and through media, so if there's anything I can, I try to," Conrad told USA Today.

Her dates with Kyle Howard take place in more private places. Paparazzi have caught Lauren Conrad with him sometimes, but far less often than you'd think.

Despite starring on the show, some of her BFFs have maintained successful love lives in large part because they've kept them away from the cameras.

"I think that everyone has been in that situation," says The Hills star, who has dated Brody Jenner, Doug Reinhardt, Jason Wahler and Stephen Colletti.

"Lo [Bosworth] has a boyfriend she has been dating over a year, who you never see on camera. Whitney Port also had a boyfriend for a year."

Lauren Conrad says she has had often "a hard time" maintaining both boyfriends and friendships as a result of living in the limelight.

"I think the media and fame tie into that," she says. "It changes people."

Lastly, LC continues to deny rumors that she recently hooked up with Audrina Patridge's loser boyfriend Justin-Bobby on a recent jaunt to Las Vegas.

"I wasn't even there," Conrad said. "I wasn't even in the state!"

Apparently Lauren Conrad can attract hordes of celebrity news media whenever she likes, but can also slip away unnoticed whenever she chooses.

Quite the skill in Hollywood.

Despite not being seen together with him in photographs... well, ever, and denying yesterday that they are a couple, LC has been spotted out and about on a regular basis with a new man - and sources say they are very much an item.

That man? My Boys star Kyle Howard.

For one, the duo was most recently spotted at hot spot Teddy's in Hollywood this past weekend. They apparently made several trips outside to the patio together and "the two were inseparable" according to witnesses.

Lauren Conrad and Kyle Howard were reportedly kissing and looking "happy" together. As Doug Reinhardt told us, she's a good kisser! Go Kyle!

The Hills star Lauren Conrad has been playing it coy when asked about the recent reports from pals – supported by sightings at several L.A. parties in the last couple of weeks – that she and My Boys actor Kyle Howard are an item.

"I'm just dating," Conrad said Saturday at the Do Something Awards Pre-Party for the Teen Choice Awards. "I'm single and having fun."

Kyle Howard was even more direct - and less forthcoming. "I'm not going to answer that," he said at the Celebrity Kickball Classic in Malibu.

Oddly enough, they met through LC's ex, Brody Jenner, a few weeks ago, a friend says, and were seen together at Crown Bar on July 23.

"They were almost on top of each other," a witness says.

A few days later, they were spotted at the Project Beach House in Malibu and at jazz night at Teddy's at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood.
