The Sex and the City movie sequel is slated for a May 28, 2010 release.

But New York City onlookers were taken back to the 1980s this week, as shooting on the film got underway and two of its main stars were spotted in hairstyles neither would be caught dead in these days.

Indeed, Sarah Jessica Parker (as Carrie Bradshaw) and Kim Cattrall (as Samantha Jones) wandered around NYC in outfits that would make Lady GaGa blush. Check out the actresses below:

While we aren't privy to any inside information regarding these outfits, a few Sex and the City spoilers have been leaked online. Among other developments, they reveal that Carrie and Big will be victims of the economic downturn; and Samantha will return to an ex.

Kim Cattrall is dating someone thirty-three years her junior. And, not surprisingly, the actress is loving it.

"I've discovered that it's really interesting to be with a man of another generation because he has different ways of looking at the world," the Sex and the City star said of Alan Wyse. "Plus, irrespective of his age, Alan has a lot of wisdom that comes from just being him."

As she shoots the Sex and the City movie, Cattrall said isn't worried about life imitating art, referring to the series' story line in which she dates a much younger man.

"When Alan and I first got together three years ago, I was a little embarrassed about how close to the storyline it seemed," Cattrall said. "I was dating men closer to my own age, and I thought that Alan would just be a nice little interlude in my life. But he kept calling and pursuing me. And, you know what, I'm not complaining."

It looks like Carrie Bradshaw (Parker) is getting married in the new movie! OMG! That must have been a tough decision for this perpetual swinging single. We're very excited to watch this all unfold on the big screen in the near future.

Personally, we don't really care about this movie. Don't get us wrong, we laugh at the occasional Sex and the City quotes that our interns pull out of nowhere. We just don't see the appeal of the big screen adaptation. But that's just us.
