After months of planning and publicizing, KayCee Stroh and Ben Higginson have gotten married!

The private Mormon ceremony took place in Salt Lake City, Utah last night.

Following the nuptials, the couple exchanged wedding bands at a ring ceremony attended by family and friends, one that included Stroh's High School Musical costars Monique Coleman, Ryne Sanborn and Bart Johnson.

"I am such a romantic and this is the wedding I have dreamed of having since I was a little girl," said Stroh.

The amazing KayCee Stroh plans to walk down the aisle in Utah in January, and the High School Musical star shared her engagement photo with People magazine!

Stroh, who plays Martha Cox in the series of movie-musicals, got engaged to her fiancé Ben Higginson in May when filming High School Musical 3: Senior Year.

"We shot from 6 p.m. until 6 a.m., and Ben was waiting for me in my trailer," Stroh said. "He was waiting for me with a single red rose. Then he took me up to H Rock, a place at the top of a little mountain that overlooks Salt Lake City, and we watched the sunrise. Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him."

KayCee Stroh may not be a household name, such as High School Musical co-stars Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron.

But the actress still plays a significant role in the franchise. She talked about it in a recent interview:

Q: Is your character in the 3rd edition, the same pop and lock Martha from High School Musical 2? How has her character evolved?
KayCee Stroh: A lot, in this movie. I’m very happy for Martha in this movie. She has grown a lot. She gets to do drum rolls and lots of percussion. She is head cheerleader in this movie and I think it’s a wonderful message that if you step out of your box and decide “I’m gonna be myself,” whether people like it or not, look how you can grow in three years. She’s like ruling the school now and not like “I’m shy! And I wanna do this…”

Q: What’s something surprising you’ve seen behind the scenes that fans wouldn’t know about?
KayCee Stroh: A lot of fans wouldn’t know that a lot of us do very different things in our spare time. For instance, you’d look over and see Lucas writing and directing his own stuff and making music and things like that. Corbin Bleu, Ryan Sanborn, and I went camping on our spare time and had a camp fire. So I think it’s very shocking because a lot of fans see us as movie stars and don’t see us as regular people doing regular people things. “Corbin’s chopping wood!,” is sort of a funny thought to them.

KayCee Stroh celebrated her 24th birthday among family and friends on Thursday night.

In Utah shooting High School Musical 3: Senior Year, Stroh was thrown a surprise party at the Classic Skating & Fun Center in Salt Lake City on a day off from filming.

Sporting her new engagement ring, the actress was joined by fiancé Ben Higginson and costars Corbin Bleu, Ryne Sanborn, Bart Johnson and new cast members Justin Martin and Jemma McKenzie-Brown.

As People Magazine reports, she blew out the candles on custom-decorated ice cream cakes from Cold Stone Creamery. Her flavors of choice? Chocolate and chocolate chip.

Stroh portrays Martha Cox in the High School Musical franchise, staring alongside Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Monique Coleman, Corbin Bleu and Lucas Grabeel.

Meanwhile, according to our calendar of celebrity birthdays, Wentworth Miller and Brooke White turn 36 and 25, respectively, today. Congrats to each of them!

Stroh said she's now wearing "the most amazing ring," which she'll soon be showing off during filming of High School Musical 3. None of her costars know about the news yet.

"They are going to be so surprised," Stroh said. "They all love Ben. He's like one of the gang."
