Kids. They grow up so fast.

It seems like just yesterday that Suri Cruise was born, and we thought she might not have even been real. But she was. And soon became probably one of our favorite celebrity babies of all time. Seriously. She is so cute.

Now, Suri Cruise is almost three-and-a-half years old. It's hard to believe how the time flies. One day, their first fecal matter is immortalized in bronze. The next ...

Sorry. Someone actually did that, though, so we're not crazy. What we were trying to say is she may not be a celebrity baby anymore, but she's no less adorable.

Case in point? This photo from the weekend in Boston, where Tom Cruise is filming his new movie Wichita. This tender mother-daughter moment says everything:

Katie Holmes graces the cover of Elle Magazine's "Women in Hollywood" issue, and we have to say, the wife of Tom Cruise actually looks pretty darn good.

Below are some excerpts from her interview.

On family life: “In my own life, my whole world really revolves around family. I do what I need to do, but it’s like, ‘How is everybody else doing?’ And it’s wonderful for me as an actress to put some of that into a character.”

On life as a working mom on the Broadway set: “[Suri Cruise] would sit in my lap in the makeup chair. She’d hand the wig lady the bobby pins.“

Katie Holmes: Gorgeous, less robotic than usual!

On fashion: “I love Alaïa, for sure. Stella McCartney. I like Ralph Lauren because I feel like it’s very American, and I’m pretty all-American, from Ohio."

"Also, Isabel Marant and a new designer, Sari Gueron."

On the genre of film she loves most: “It can be any genre. I even like vampire movies – they just have to be well done. I want to believe in the characters. The minute it starts to feel not real, I’m not interested.”

Any fan of Hollywood gossip and style knows that are plenty of amazing, beautiful celebrity hairstyles out there that commoners wish they could emulate.

Katie Holmes does not have one of those hairstyles.

The actress famously cut her beautiful, long hair into a Victoria Beckham-esque bob with straight bangs in 2008, only to grow it back out in early 2009.

Either way, all we can say is ick.

Which Katie Holmes hairstyle is the least terrible-looking?

The wife of Tom and the mother of Suri Cruise may be joining the cast of the Sex and the City movie sequel, if some recent rumors are to be believed.

Thankfully, the star is not planning to replace Jennifer Hudson as Sarah Jessica Parker's lovestruck personal assistant, nor hooking up with Mr. Big.

We hope.

Word is she's wanted to play a high-powered young businesswoman ready to go toe-to-toe with Kim Cattrall's take-no-prisoners Samantha Jones.

Katie most recently "performed" on So You Think You Can Dance last week. We use that term very loosely, as there was little dancing and no singing in likely the most overhyped, overrated guest appearance in that show's history.

Holmes is also filming the new movie Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark. Do you think she'd be a good addition to the Sex and the City movie sequel?

Our heart goes out to Katie Holmes, following today's tragic family news.

The actress' brother-in-law has passed away.

Joseph Jeffrey Fretti - the 48-year-old husband of Holmes' older sister Tamera - died of heart failure Sunday.

Reportedly, Fretti was found dead by a family friend. His body was discovered in the Sarasota home of his mom, as he had taken his two young kids to visit their 76-year-old grandmother.

Fretti was the owner of a funeral home in Holmes' hometown of Toledo, Ohio.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes take education very seriously so much so that they have reportedly doled out a whopping $1 million on classes for their kid.

This wouldn't be as incredible if Suri Cruise weren't two.

According to Showbizspy, Cruise and his wife are keen for the cute little tyke to have a well-rounded upbringing, and are spending a fortune to make it so.

A source reveals:

"It doesn't matter what [Suri Cruise] is doing, Tom wants her to be better than any other child. All parents think their kids are special, but Suri is learning the ways of Xenu French and Spanish and has a tutor she sees once a week."

One happy, overachieving family.

"Suri has shown a real love of Scientology dancing, so Tom and Katie are encouraging her. She practices ballet, tap and modern dance for hours, nearly every day. She also started taking private gymnastics lessons and is learning soccer."

Katie Holmes is convinced that socializing with older kids will benefit her daughter:

"Katie likes to have Victoria and David Beckham's two sons around, since they are older. She thinks Suri will emulate what they do and learn faster."

How many times have you heard this one?

Katie Holmes is pregnant again, according to celeb news magazine OK!, which has never been known to jump the gun or provide any misleading stories.

The mag claims Katie and Tom Cruise are “deliriously happy Suri will be a big sister. They’ve always planned to expand the family. They’re over the moon.”

Like clockwork, the celebrity gossip publication's story was shot down by her rep almost instantaneously as he said, “There’s no truth to that story.”

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes: Probably not expecting baby #2. Yet.

While it wouldn't surprise us if Katie Holmes were carrying another little bundle of Scientolo-joy, these rumors have persisted ever since Suri was born in '06.

As usual with celebrity knockings-up, there’s no telling until time passes.

It’s the official reaction to deny pregnancy until after the 12-week stage (see Ashlee Simpson), but then again, tabloids have been known to make stuff up outright.

Since Katie Holmes was spotted out late night eating sushi with Victoria Beckham over the weekend (and since OK! is only a notch above Star on the celeb gossip reliability scale) we’re going to file this one under bull$h!t for now.

Sorry, Suri Cruise.

Katie Holmes is no stranger to changing up her hair and fashion, but for over a year now she's been consistent in at least one thing: making shorter hair her signature look, whether it's a Posh Spice-esque bob or a pixie cut.

For what reason, we can't even guess.

We were pretty pleased to see that this trend may be ending, though, as Holmes hit the Valkyrie red carpet in Tokyo this week sporting lush, full locks!

Personally, we love the change back. It reminds us of the Dawson's Creek days before she turned into a robot. But which Katie hairstyle do you prefer?

Princess Suri Cruise is followed around and accompanied by her handlers, Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise, who carry her things as they arrive in Tokyo, Japan.

Tom, Katie and Suri are seen here at Narita International Airport in Chiba, Japan. The Cruise family touched down in Tokyo after an 18-hour flight and were greeted by hundreds of screaming fans. Nevertheless, they were all smiles.
