"Did it get pale and pasty in here or is it just me" Lauer joked.

No Matt, it's not just you. But you are still a sexy beast, man.

With no foundation or bronzer available, some of the journalists admitted that appearing on high-definition TV was more challenging than everyday life.

"There's a difference in walking around your neighborhood without makeup and then being on national TV without makeup," Hall said this morning.

"TV is a little less forgiving," Savannah Guthrie confirmed.

Kotb copped to wanting a little something to feel more like herself. "I like to have lipstick on," she said. "If I have nothing on, but I have lipstick, I feel better."

Kudos to Today for doing this even if it was difficult and potentially causes Matt severe PTSD. Check out other celebrities without makeup below:

Hey, at least Matt Lauer has someone in his corner!

With the embattled anchor continuing to face criticism for Ann Curry's firing and for the faltering Today show ratings, Kathie Lee Gifford came out this week in support of her colleague.

  • Kathie Lee Gifford Smiles
  • What, Matt Lauer Worry?

"I don’t like somebody taking blame for something that they’re not responsible for,” Gifford said of Lauer and the many rumors that he pushed for Curry's ousting.

We actually have Today Show news that does not involve the possible firing of Matt Lauer.

But we really, really, really wish that were not the case.

On the fourth, wine-induced hour of this NBC morning program Friday, Kathie Lee Gifford went off on "vajazzling" and the steps many women take to groom themselves… down there.

We've been around for billions of years, the co-anchor argued, asking sarcastically: What did men and women possibly do for so long before the evolution of personal, private part care?

And that's about when Hoda Kotb was forced to make a confession: She - EWWWW! - has a "landing strip."

We're sure it's nothing a bottle of white wine can't fix, but there's reportedly tension between Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb over the location of their Today Show segment.

Insiders tell TMZ that Gifford wants to move the (often inebriated) fourth hour to Hollywood, while her partner is a New York City gal.

The simmering feud is gaining momentum, too, starting with when Hoda felt "snubbed" because Gifford did not promote her new book on air.

Kathie Lee Gifford is facing some heavy criticism from fans after strongly implying to Family Circle magazine that parents of drug addicts are failures.

The quote in question, from her recent interview:

"I'm not a perfect mom, but my kids haven't been arrested, in rehab or kicked out of school, so I must be doing something right!"

Her implication, intentionally are not, is that the parents of kids who have been arrested, in rehab or kicked out of school are not doing it right.

Many of Kathie Lee Gifford's fans are, predictably, far from pleased and telling her off as a result, posting blistering rebukes on her Facebook page.

"Well Kathy, here is a pic of my little brother who we lost at the age of 33 yrs old due to a DISEASE called DRUG ADDICTION," wrote one fan.

"I find it funny we were both raised by the same woman called MOM ... I am NOT an ADDICT and NEVER was ... Poor parenting?? Gimme a break."

Another went right after the talk show host, saying: "Shame on you Kathie Lee Gifford, shame on you. You are a thoughtless human being."

"You know the first thing they teach in counseling for loved ones of addicts? The three C's; you DIDN'T cause it, you CAN'T cure it, and you CAN'T control it."

"Poor parenting?? I'm glad you never had to face any of your babies drowning in a disease they could not be cured from."

And on and on and on. Kathie Lee - who also made news recently for asking Martin Short about his late wife - may not have meant to suggest this about all parents of troubled children, but she nonetheless did, and she's hearing about it.

What do you think of Gifford's controversial comments?
