But the former American Idol runner-up can’t be thrilled with the performance of her self-titled debut album, which sold roughly 366,000 since it was released last February. Meanwhile, Simon Cowell simply isn’t thrilled with McPhee herself.

“Didn’t care much about Katharine McPhee,” Cowell told Extra Thursday. “I don’t think she was a credible recording artist. Katharine will end up on Broadway!”

Simon went on to to reject the notion that American Idol has given seventh-season Hollywood tickets to several contestants who previously had recording contracts - such as Kristy Lee Cook and Carly Smithson - as part of a conspiracy to insure that the show’s next winner is a chart-topping success.

“Oh, give me a break!” Cowell sad. “Regardless of whether or not you got a recording contract, they’ve all failed, which is why they turn up on American Idol.”

One day after their Beverly Hills wedding, Katharine McPhee and Nick Cokas jetted off to Hawaii for a romantic honeymoon… and possibly more!

The American Idol star, 23, and her husband, 42, arrived in Maui Sunday. They’ve been seen hanging out on the beach and shopping.

But they may have other plans entirely.

Katharine McPhee and actor Nick Cokas wed Saturday in Beverly Hills, with 300 guests - including a gospel choir - filling a Presbyterian Church!

McPhee’s bridesmaids wore floor-length pink dresses, matching the flowers, which included pink, purple, peach and white roses.

Rumer Willis, McPhee’s costar in the upcoming film I Know What Boys Like, was among the celebrities in attendance at the wedding.

Katharine McPhee, 23, and Nick Cokas, 42, first met when they performed in a L.A. theater production of The Ghost and Mrs. Muir.

They began dating in 2005, and soon after, Nick Cokas convinced her to try out for American Idol and drove her to the auditions. They got engaged last year.

The singer and Southern California native has always shrugged off the 19-year age difference between herself and Nick Cokas.

“I love [older men],” she has said. “They’re just wiser, and they’re less about themselves and more about you.”

While McPhee was recently dropped from her label, she may have other plans in store - both career-wise and family-wise.

“I want to have, like, 15 babies,” she said in an interview late last year. “I’ve always wanted to be pregnant!”

Sounds like it won’t be ltoo ong before we come out with our next headline about the gorgeous singer: Katharine McPhee pregnant!

We can only hope finalists from the upcoming season of American Idol provide us with as much news - and beauty - as Katharine McPhee and Carrie Underwood.

We’re sad to report, though, that McPhee has parted ways with RCA after just one album, a 2007 self-titled CD that debuted at #2 on The Billboard 200.

The album has sold just 366,000 units in the U.S. Fortunately, Katharine still has Nick Cokas to go home to every night. We think she’ll bounce back.

Meanwhile, Underwood has finally come clean about her relationship with Tony Romo. In the latest issue of Women’s Health - which Gossip Girl star and current Carrie boyfriend Chace Crawford may wish to avoid - the singing sensation says:

“Katharine is bubbling over with excitement for their upcoming wedding,” a source close to the couple says. “She is all smiles when she talks about the planning. It sounds like everything is going very smoothly.”

Case in point: the two will join forces on an upcoming independent film titled The Last Caller. Katharine McPhee will star in the dark romantic comedy and Nick Cokas will reportedly be producing the work.

Katharine McPhee, whose debut CD came out earlier this year, is currently filming an Anna Faris comedy called I Know What Boys Like, as well.
