While Britney Spears spent the holiday weekend shopping, Kate Walsh (her tan bikini blending nicely with the sand) strolled down a Hawaiian shore with her new husband, 20th Century Fox movie executive Alex Young.

The newlyweds, who married Labor Day, spent Thanksgiving vacationing on the beaches of Maui, frolicking in the surf and walking the coast at sunset.

At 40, the former Grey's Anatomy and current Private Practice star looks so good, she'd be prime MILF material... that is, if she had kids. Despite rumors that she is pregnant, Walsh has said that at least for now, her baby is her TV series.

When Extra asked the recently married 40-year-old actress the inevitable "when are you having a baby" question, Kate Walsh replied:

"Right now, my baby is Private Practice... she is beautiful, strong, and growing every week," referring to her hit Grey's Anatomy spin-off series.

We might take issue with the first two parts of that description, but it's nice that Walsh is having a good time and feeling confident in her new show.

Extra then asked Kate Walsh if she was indeed pregnant, to which she joked: "I'm pregnant with triplets now and I feel really good!"

Kate Walsh married Alex Young, 35, a 20th Century Fox production executive, in September in Ojai, California. Walsh sat down with Extra on the Private Practice set and, for the record, denied being pregnant, explaining:

"Both of us are pretty much working constantly and seeing each other when we can... that's him, the pretty blond guy over there!"

So, looks like no babies on the way just yet for this striking former member of the Grey's Anatomy cast. But we're still big fans of Kate and wish her the best.

Illinois Senator Barack Obama may be criss-crossing the country campaigning for president, but he's not completely out of the pop culture loop.

When he spotted Kate Walsh at a fund raising event in Hancock Park, Calif., October 20, he couldn't help but make his way over to the actress to talk a little about her new ABC hit series, Private Practice.

"So great to see you!" Barack Obama said. "How's the new show?"

"It's going really well," replied Kate Walsh, who was there with her husband of nearly two months, film producer Alex Young.

So what's Barack Obama's prognosis on Private Practice?

"I'm always out campaigning ... I haven't been able to watch it so I can't give you a review," he admitted, "but I'm sure it's great."

Ah, your classic non-answer answer. Spoken like a true politician. At least he's willing to go out on a limb and say he doesn't like Paris Hilton.

Barack Obama will have plenty of opportunities to check out the series: It was recently renewed for a full season. Hopefully he has TiVo.

In a world dominated by certain celebrities getting unnecessary plastic surgery and wearing no pants to clubs, Kate Walsh is a breath of fresh air.

The former member of the Grey's Anatomy cast, who now stars on Private Practice, turned 40 on Saturday and says she had no angst about the milestone.

"Probably, honestly, I would have cared more if I were still single," the star tells Marie Claire.

"But I've also been working through all the big things that you grapple with as a female. I feel I'm in such a place of peace in my life that 40 feels like a great marker of a great year."

Kate Walsh says she had let the idea of marriage go - until she met Alex Young, 36, a co-president of film production at 20th Century Fox.

"I met him, and I knew unequivocally," she says. "Is that strange? I used to want to hit people who said, 'You know when you know' about someone. It made me want to throw up. But I'm the annoying one now."

Kate Walsh and Alex Young moved in together just a month later, got engaged in May, and made it official when they got married Labor Day weekend.

The beautiful Private Practice star describes her new husband as "super intelligent, super smart, very handsome" and "a true gentleman."

"It's so easy to be cynical, but it's not how he lives," she says. "I've always known I've needed someone who lived from his heart."

It looks to be a bit more comedic than its predecessor, but don't worry, ladies, there' still a round of McHotties to keep you interested. Taye Diggs and Tim Daly are pieces of eye candy that are just about as tasty as they come.

You can't see Michelle Ryan nude or Kate Walsh nude tonight. But you can see these actresses star in their hit new shows.

We don't know what caused this mishap, but some celebrity fashion expert thought it'd be cool if they took the Private Practice star and one of the hottest models on Earth and made the sides of their heads look like they were vomiting up hair.

Now just another old married lady, Kate Walsh wishes her wedding could have been a never-ending affair.

"I had an amazing time," the Private Practice star told Extra.

Walsh married movie executive Alex Young, 36, over Labor Day weekend, with the couple exchanging vows before 100 guests - including Walsh's former Grey's Anatomy costars Katherine Heigl, Chandra Wilson, Sara Ramirez, Justin Chambers and the show's creator, Shonda Rhimes.

"First when you walk down the aisle, that was pretty powerful," Walsh says. "To have a church full of everybody that is near and dear to me and that I love and that loves us and seeing his face!"

Having now experienced her big day, "I see why people have week-long weddings," Kate Walsh says. "Let's just keep it going."

As for recent celebrity gossip rumors that the lovely Kate Walsh - seen with Alex Young in this picture from the Emmy Awards last night - is expecting?

"A baby, no. We might get a new puppy, though," Kate says. "For now, we are just excited to spend time with each other."

That's a good approach. The last thing you want is to end up with a couple of adorable little mistakes like Britney Spears. Then go insane.

For Kate Walsh and Alex Young, the wedding took place Saturday, September 1, at Ojai Presbyterian Church in Ojai, Calif., and the reception was held at the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa afterward.

Several of Kate Walsh's former fellow Grey's Anatomy stars, including Katherine Heigl and fiance Josh Kelley, as well as T.R. Knight, Chandra Wilson, James Pickens Jr., Justin Chambers and wife Keisha, along with the show's creator, Shonda Rhimes, were in attendance at the event, which we learned about only a week ago.

Also attending were actress Kate Beckinsale and her director husband, Len Wiseman. Reports indicate that approximately 110 guests were on hand.

A lavish reception was scheduled to follow at the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa's Casa Elar, a Spanish-style estate where guests enjoyed sit-down dinners.

Wedding planner Jo Gartin, of Love Luck and Angels, had decorated the estate with hundreds of candles for an intimate atmosphere, People reports..
