These money-driven loons have forced Kate Middleton to pull out of a charity fundraising race to France due to "safety" concerns.

"Kate has chosen to drop out, having taken advice," boat captain Emma Sayle told People magazine. "It's a safety thing ... security issues."

The girlfriend of Prince William was set to steer an all-female crew in a traditional Chinese dragon boat across the 21-mile English Channel. They were to vie against an all-male crew in an record-breaking attempt scheduled for August 25.

"She's upset she can't do it, but she's made a call and taken the whole team into consideration. By pulling out she's doing it for everyone else," said Sayle, adding that maybe Prince Harry's girlfriend, Chelsy Davy, has more of a sack than Middleton.

Just kidding about that last part.

During their training sessions on the River Thames in the west of London, the women's crew had found themselves under the glare of stalkers celebrity news journalists, which Sayle referred to as a "nightmare." She can only imagine what it's like to be in the spotlight all the time, like poor Spencer Pratt.

Earlier this year Middleton's lawyers issued a warning to photographers asking that they respect her privacy.

The crew rep says it is now too late to find a new recruit. But we hear Kim Kardashian has a good track record with seamen.

Oh... nevermind.

Kate Middleton is more than just a possible future queen with a pretty face.

She's an athlete… with a world record on the brain!

While other famous women close to her age named Lindsay Lohan are being pulled over for drunk driving, Middleton is acting as the steerer/steerswoman with the Scion Sisterhood for the upcoming Collins Stewart Cross Channel Challenge.

The on/off-girlfriend of Prince William is hoping to break a Guinness world record by being among the first all-female crew to row across the English Channel for the charity race in a Chinese dragon boat. That's pretty cool actually.

Former school friend Alicia Fox-Pitt - who has no relation to either Matthew Fox or Brad Pitt - said: "Kate's been training with us. All being well she will be in the boat. She is a very gifted sportswoman and we played a lot of sport together at school."

Fellow crew member Emma Sayle agreed. In fact, her assessment of Middleton had us questioning whether Megan Fox was actually not the world's most perfect woman:

"Kate's perfect material for our team. She's stunning and very feminine but is incredibly sporty. She's the kind of girl who can take part in a triathlon, get covered in mud and an hour later emerge in a ball dress looking flawless."

Yup, sorry Megan and Lauren Conrad. But we have a new celebrity crush.

Princess Diana was honored last night - but it was two other British women that really made news.

And, no, for once we're not talking about consistently nude English models such as Keeley Hazell or Lucy Pinder.

Chelsy Davy who has been dating Prince Harry for about three years, planted a smooch on her man during the show, while Kate Middleton smiled supportively at Prince William from just two rows behind her concert-promoter boyfriend at Wembley Stadium.

While the former couple has been solid for years, Middleton and William have recently been seeing each other again after breaking off their five-year relationship in April, friends have told People magazine.

Dressed in a white trench coat and a black-and-white print dress by Issa, Middleton rocked out to the show among the other young royals and friends, putting her arm in the air to "Shine" by former boy band Take That and grooving to Lily Allen and Nelly Furtado.

The charitable concert â€" held on what would've been Diana's 46th birthday, 10 years after her death â€" was opened by the princes, with a rousing "Hello Wembley!"

"This evening is about all that our mother loved in life â€" her music, her dance, her charities and her family and friends," Prince William told the 60,000-strong crowd, after being introduced by Elton John.

Meanwhile, Army officer Harry mindful of those he would have been serving alongside in Iraq had he been able to go, added a word of praise: "I wish I was there with you. I'm sorry I can't be. To you and everyone on operations we'd both like to say stay safe."

David Beckham, soon to start his soccer career with L.A.'s Galaxy, got one of the biggest cheers of the night when he stepped onstage. Before he introduced Take That he called the evening's hosts "truly remarkable. The nation should be proud of them."

The show included acts from Diana's era (Rod Stewart, Supertramp and Bryan Ferry) and those from her sons' (Diddy, Kanye West and Fergie).

If they had asked her to contribute, it's safe to assume Sam Cooke would have bared her large breasts, as well.

Approximately two months after Prince William and Kate Middleton broke up, the two have been enjoying clandestine meetings, friends confirm.

"It's true that they have been seeing each other," a source tells People about the Royal couple.

Adds a pal: "They [never] loathed each other. It just wasn't working at the time."

Similar to Kevin Federline and Britney Spears, perhaps.

The couple was spotted at a June 9 bash in William's Dorset, England, army barracks, where the British press reported the twosome talked all night and kissed on the dance floor. Sounds hot.

Sounds like Kim Kardashian and Reggie Bush.

William and Middleton, both 25, began dating five years ago, and many had Middleton, an accessories buyer at the British fashion company Jigsaw, pegged as the future Queen of England. It's a title more respected than Firecrotch. By a lot.

Both are expected at the July 1 Concert for Diana; Prince Harry, 22 â€" who is set to return from his army training in Canada â€" has also invited his girlfriend Chelsy Davy, 21.

A source says the spark for this pair is "still there." So the future is wide open. With any luck, they'll end up as happy together as Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil.

Henry Ropner had his chance.

The Brit who was rumored to be dating Kate Middleton may have missed his chance to officially win this beauty over, especially in light of recent reports that say she she's found her royal footing once again.

Following their April split after dating for five years, Prince William is supposedly wooing his ex-girlfriend once again, according to People magazine.

The couple attended a party earlier this month at an army barracks where William is posted as an army officer. Moreover, William has invited Middleton to the Concert for Diana, in memory of his mother, scheduled for London's Wembley Stadium next Sunday. It should be an event almost as anticipated as the next Britney Spears album.

Celebrity gossip talk also says couple kissed at the June 9 army party, and that Middleton will spend time with William, his brother Harry and Harry's girlfriend, Chelsy Davy, backstage at the Diana concert.

Earlier this month, Joss Stone denied a report that she's close friends with the prince, who only last week gained access to the estimated $500,000 to $600,000 annual interest generated by the $13 million left to him by his mother.

He's probably an even better catch at this point than Scott Baio.

Kate Middleton may no longer have a chance to be queen - but that doesn't mean a new man in her life can't be her king for a day. Or maybe longer.

A little over a month after Prince William and Middleton split, Kate's working the rebound angle. She's got herself a new man.

Middletown's been seen out on the town with Willl's Eton classmate and high society lad Henry Ropner, who has a little bone to pick with the prince. Reportedly, Henry lost former girlfriend Jecca Craig to William back in 2004, and their relationship's been frosty ever since.

Sounds like English celebrity gossip that can rival any in the U.S.!

The British rag The Sun reports that Kate and Henry have been cozying up together all around London and a source says "there's been a lot of flirting."

One is the hottest thing in reality TV and fashion. The other almost had a shot at becoming British royalty. So you know darn well that when these two young ladies battle it out in a fashion face-off, it's going down to the wire!

We sympathize with the gent below. When you work all day at a run-of-the-mill job just to make ends meet, and a certifiably fine piece of once-almost-royal ass struts past you… it's tough not to engage in some serious ogling.

On the flip side, you gotta watch yourself. The paparazzi follows Kate Middleton everywhere. You have to know that you're going to get busted… on film. Let's just hope this fellow isn't in a relationship. If he is… it's probably over by now. 

While Kate is still reeling from her breakup with Prince William, she's doing her best to move on. And she can at least take solace in the fact that she's got it goin' on. Plenty of Brits would undoubtedly date this lovely lass if given the chance.

While Johnny Knoxville and Diddy set the bar high by ogling the rackage of hot actresses, The Hollywood Gossip gawking champion remains this guy, who was quite taken aback by the sight of Sienna Miller (and not shy about his approval).

On April 13, newly single Prince William hit the town for a wild night out in London, racking up a nearly $10,000 bar tab and partying so hard that by 3:30 a.m. he "was struggling to stand up," a club source told Us Weekly.

Of course, it was then revealed that the hunky prince had split from girlfriend Kate Middleton.

So, where did this relationship go wrong?

"Kate wanted an assurance that there was going to be a future for them, and William wasn't ready to give that," said a Middleton source.

"His family advised him not to rush into things, and so in the end, he couldn't give her what she wanted."

Sort of like Dita Von Teese and Marilyn Manson. We guess.

The strain only deepened when Prince William, now a second lieutenant in the British Army, was stationed in a training camp in Dorset, England â€" two hours away from Middleton's $1.6 million London apartment â€" yet he didn't make time to see "Babykins" (his pet name for Middleton, which is only slightly less obnoxious than anything Heather Mills says).

"Kate never felt like William put her in first place," said a former classmate. "To meet up for dinner, she would have to run four or five different dates by him before he would say he was available. Usually when you are in a relationship, you drop everything for your loved one, but William wasn't like that."

Indeed, he sounds more self-involved than Spencer Pratt.

Lastly, Us reports that one person is relieved the prince didn't rush into anything: his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.

"The queen was fond of Kate, but wants William to take his time choosing a wife to avoid another royal divorce like the ones that damaged the monarchy in the '90s," royal correspondent Judy Wade said.

It's true that divorces are painful. Take note of that, Hulk Hogan.

Considering the fact that Shanna Moakler and Travis Barker have reunited, you can never really say when celebrity couples are truly finished.

But for now, the news that Prince William and Kate Middleton have split is sending the British press into a frenzy â€" for the exes, shockingly, life goes on.

Middleton, 25, spent time over the weekend at her parents' home in the village of Bucklebury, 50 miles west of London, where she avoided throngs of paparazzi.

For his part, Prince William, 24, partied with pals at London's Mahiki nightclub on Friday night before news of the split broke, keeping a low profile for the rest of the weekend.

It is believed that both have now gone back to work â€" the prince in Dorset, where he recently started an armored corps troop commander's course, and Middleton in London, where she works an accessories buyer for the British fashion chain Jigsaw.

Neither could be reached for a comment on Sanjaya Malakar.

Meanwhile, British Prime Minister Tony Blair told the BBC that the exes should be allowed to "get on with their lives."

"They should be left alone now without reams of stuff being written that I can assure you, from my experience of royal stories, most of which will be complete nonsense," he said, reminding the press that there's an Olivia Mojica sex tape to be covered instead.

Still, after The Sun broke the story, by Sunday all 10 national newspapers had covered the biggest royal split since the prince's parents, Princess Diana and Prince Charles, separated in 1992.

In England, this sort of event is as big as the latest Britney Spears dating rumor in The States. Hard to say which is actually less deserving of coverage.
