Kanye West Gossip (Page 3)

Kanye West Hates The Hollywood Gossip, Celebrity News Blogs

We were always nice to Kanye West's fiancee, Alexis Phifer.

So we can only hope that the rapper isn't including The Hollywood Gossip among the celebrity blogs he recently told Complex magazine he can't stand.

"Man, it really takes a strong person to read the blogs," West says in the next issue of the publication, which he guest-edited. "It's just no-holds-barred. So if you're feeling good about yourself and you want to feel like sâ€", go to the blogs."

Celebrity Gossip Hater

Kanye West isn't a fan of celebrity gossip sites.

That's not fair, Kanye. We only say mean things about people that deserve it, such as Ving Rhames being a moron for keeping killer dogs on hand; or Spencer Pratt for, well, being Spencer Pratt.

But we're more than kind to other celebs. That photo of Lisa Rinna nude, for example? Gorgeous! Same for Heidi Montag nude.

Please take back your comments, man.

Hollywood Gossip Club Watch: Kevin Connolly, Two Duffs, Brody Jenner, Lauren Conrad, Kanye West at Hyde

Duff SandwichHe's already on a cool show.

But Kevin Connolly boosted his image as a player Tuesday night when he became the meat in a Duff sandwich, so to speak.

The adorable Entourage star arrived with the singing sisters at 11 p.m. for friend and promoter Frankie Delgado's birthday party, but his attention was soon all on Haylie Duff.

She's the older, less famous sister of Hilary Duff.

While the official word from their camps is that KevCon and Haylie aren't dating, they sure were canoodling and whispering in each others' ears - hard.

Don't worry, though - for those of you concerned that Hilary Duff is too young to be in the club, she was drinking only water. There would be no Lindsay Lohan binges for this starlet.

Tanned, blonde and in a strapless dress, Haylie looked like she just came from the beach Kevin was all over that piece like Britney Spears on an In-n-Out burger.

Also getting cuddly last night: Brody Jenner and just about every girl in the building. Except, of course, for his ex, Lauren Conrad - who was also there.

Yes, while The Hills stars were both at Hyde, Brody was giving Lauren Conrad the cold shoulder. Even after pulling the "unintentional" pass-by move, LC did not succeed in diverting Brody's attention from the bevy of babes circling him.

SIDE NOTE: It's interesting that the last time we heard from Brody, it was also in our Club Watch. This is because Brody Jenner does nothing but go to clubs and pick up girls. More power to him for it - we're just making a point here.

In any case, Lauren Conrad left at 12:30, thus missing a brief club cameo by Kanye West, who swaggered in at 1:15 a.m., but was out no more than 10 minutes later.

Probably had to get home to Alexis Phifer.

It's All Good, Alexis Phifer: Kanye West's Fiancee Approved by Rapper's Mother

Kanye West's fiancée, Alexis Phifer, won't have to worry about any impending mother-in-law issues: her beau's mom is crazy about her.

"I think she's a very outstanding young woman," Dr. Donda West told People magazine. "She's quite talented, very intelligent, very creative. Very sweet, thoughtful, generous. I can't think of one negative thing I would say about her, even in private!"

Alexis Phifer and Kanye West Dr. West, meanwhile, has a new memoir, Raising Kanye, hitting shelves on Mother's Day. But this is no Dina Lohan, folks.

The doctor has her 29-year-old son's ode to her, "Hey Mama," as the ring-back tone on her Blackberry, and says she "loves" Phifer, to whom her son proposed last summer.

Unlike Eva Longoria and Tony Parker, this couple has not yet set a wedding date because "they're so busy traveling the world and having fun that they haven't had time," said Dr. West, the former chair of the English department at Chicago State University, who now works with her son as one of his managers.

Kanye's mom also said she doesn't wish to be involved in the wedding. Maybe she's learned what happens when parents bother their kids too much (right, Britney Spears?).

"I don't want to get involved in the wedding at all, except to be there. I assume it'll be well planned and very creative. It's going to be beautiful and an outstanding event, and what's going to make it great is that they love each other very much."

Dr. West's favorite thing about her the woman Kanye West is engaged to?

"The best thing that I love about her is that she loves my son," she said. "You can't beat that."

It's very similar to the way Blake Fielder-Civil feels about Amy Winehouse, we're sure.

Kanye West Throws Support Behind ... James Blunt?!?

With the Grammy Awards coming up, it's no surprise the race for Best New Artist would be strongly contested.

But it is a tad shocking who Kanye West appears to be throwing his support behind. Leaving his hip hop roots behind for a moment of candor, the rapper had the following to say:

"I like Chris Brown, but James Blunt should win."

Really, Kanye? Hasn't Blunt won enough? The guy is dating Petra Nemcova, after all.

Walk With Him

Seen here performing in Miami in the week before the Super Bowl, West has been known to surprise fans with his allegiances. We caught the mogul making nice with Paul McCartney awhile back. Can't say we saw that coming.

Then again, when Jesus walks with you, guess that makes you a popular friend to many.

Evel Knievel Sues Kanye West Over Piece of Crap Video

If you thought Sylvester Stallone and his recounting of a 32-year-old feud with Richard Gere that may have resulted in rumors of the latter's felching had a lock on the weirdest story of the day... you were right. But this one gave it a good run.

Daredevil

Daredevil/stuntman legend Evel Knievel is reportedly suing egomaniacal rapper Kanye West, taking issue with a music video in which West assumes his persona and tries to jump a rocket-powered motorcycle over a canyon.

Knievel, whose real name is Robert Craig Knievel, Jr., filed a lawsuit in federal court in Tampa on Monday claiming infringement on his trademark name and likeness. He also claims the "vulgar and offensive" images depicted in the video damage his reputation.

"That video that Kanye West put out is the most worthless piece of crap I've ever seen in my life, and he uses my image to catapult himself on the public," the 68-year-old said Tuesday.

A spokesman for West said the rapper no comment. The lawsuit seeks damages and to halt distribution.

In the video for "Touch the Sky," released earlier this year, West dons the familiar Knievel jumpsuit and jumps a canyon in a vehicle "visually indistinguishable" from the one used by Knievel in his failed attempt to jump the Snake River Canyon in Idaho in 1974.

The video, which features Pamela Anderson as West's girlfriend, contains "vulgar and offensive sexual images, language and conduct involving 'Evel Kanyevel' and women apparently trying to gain his sexual interest," the lawsuit asserts.

"The guy just went too far using me to promote his filth to the world. I'm not in any way that kind of a person," said Knievel, who lives in Clearwater, Fla., and has been in poor health in recent years.

The lawsuit also names Roc-A-Fella Records, video director Chris Milk and AOL for distributing it.

West was so disappointed at not winning best video for "Touch the Sky" at the MTV Europe Music Awards last month that he crashed the stage when it was presented to Justice and Simian for "We Are Your Friends."

In a tirade riddled with expletives, West said he should have won the prize because it "cost a million dollars, Pamela Anderson was in it. I was jumping across canyons."

Kanye: Evel

Borat had no comment.

Knievel failed spectacularly in the aforementioned 1974 jump. He was secured inside the cockpit and the Sky-Cycle was fired up, but his parachute opened just as he cleared the ramp.

After soaring about 1,000 feet, he wound up landing about 20 feet from the river on the rocky south bank. He sustained only scrapes and bruises.

In the video, West's vehicle crashes to the bottom of the canyon in flames, not unlike the career path evidently chosen by Michael Richards.

Kanye West's Dome is Officially For Rent

It appears you can... assuming Kanye West deems you worthy of even being in the same room as Kanye West. In yet another shameless cry for attention, the petulant brat egomaniacal rapper showed up at a party thrown by Fendi, a trendy fashion designer, in Tokyo this week. With his head as a billboard.

Fendi

One can only wonder what person lucky enough to call herself the Kanye West fiancee is thinking right now. Or whether West would consider renting out his dome to anyone. T.H. Gossip isn't sure how it feels about this. On the one hand, it looks cool. Someone like Paul McCartney couldn't pull it off. It seems like we should be in awe of Kanye.

But conversely, isn't he supposed to be at least semi-hard? You'd never catch Suge Knight doing that kind of thing... and we are terrified of Suge Knight.

Kanye West None Too Pleased at MTV Award Snub

According to Kanye West, President Bush hates black people.

We wonder if the rapper feels a similar way about MTV now that the channel has supposedly snubbed him at its Europe Music Awards.

You Snub Me?

West was so miffed at not winning the award for Best Video last night that he stormed the stage and went on a bizarre, expletive-filled tirade to protest.

He sounded more upset than we get thinking about Ali Lohan joining her sister on an album.

Even though he'd won the award for Best Hip-Hop Artist earlier in the evening, West jumped out of his seat whnn Copenhagenwhen Justice and Simian (yes, that's actually the band's name) won the Best Video prize for "We Are Your Friends."

Kanye crashed the award presentation. He told the stunned audience that he should've won for his "Touch The Sky" because it "cost a million dollars, Pamela Anderson was in it, I was jumping across canyons."

He added: "If I don't win, the awards show loses credibility."

Elsewhere at the awards, Justin Timberlake, who hosted, won two awards, while the Red Hot Chili Peppers won Best Album.

There's no word on how Kanye West's fiancee feels about the alledged snub.

Kanye West: Sir Paul's New BFF?

Not the oddest couple of all time, but hardly a pair of music moguls we'd expect to see together. But hey, go with what works. For all we know, rap star Kanye West (left) was probably just giving Sir Paul McCartney some marriage advice.

Kanye West & Paul McCartney

With all Paul has endured with his wife -- high-priced "instructional sex guide" star and call girl, Heather Mills -- he could certainly use an ear wherever he can get one. After all, have you seen that smoking hot Kanye West fiancee? This guy knows what's up when it comes to marriage! Fashion, though? Not so sure.

Mariah Carey Leads American Music Award Nominations

Hey, wanna receive numerous nominations for the American Music Awards? Just don't release an album.

That strategy seems to have paid off for Mariah Carey, who's last CD hit stores a year and a half ago. Nevertheless, for the second consecutive year, Mimi leads the nominations at the Dick Clark-produced trophyfest.

We Nominate Mariah

Carey, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Black Eyed Peas and Nickelback each snagged a field-best three nods for this year's event.

Mariah is once again up for Favorite Female Artist in both the Pop/Rock and Soul/Rhythm & Blues categories, as well as a nod for Favorite Album in the latter category.

Fergie and her fellow Peas are up for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album, along with Favorite Artist in both Rap/Hip-Hop and Soul/Rhythm & Blues.

Also racking up multiple nominations were virtually any artists who managed to score some airplay this year: Mary J. Blige, Kelly Clarkson, Eminem, Kanye West, Jamie Foxx, Rascal Flatts, T.I., Carrie Underwood and Pussycats Dolls all scored two nods apiece.

Underwood and the Pussycat Dolls will do battle with Chamillionaire in the redundantly named Favorite New Breakthrough Artist race.

Kanye West Engaged, New Fiancee Walks with Him

We already know that Kanye West thinks Jesus walks with him .. but now his girlfriend Alexis will be sauntering down the aisle to meet the rapper in a few months.

Yes, that stretch of a metaphor is meant to relay the fact that West proposed to Alexis while overseas. Her name and occupation are being kept on the DL, but the pair has been together since West's October 2002 car accident.

A Happy Man

That's almost as long as Diana Bianchi has been alive!

This will be the first marriage for the Grammy winner, who rose to fame as a producer for Roc-a-Fella Records, where he gained notice for his work on Jay-Z's 2001 album, The Blueprint. He's also produced hits for artists including Ludacris and Alicia Keys.

But West's career was almost derailed by a near-fatal car accident in 2002, which inspired the single "Through the Wire" from his 2004 debut album, The College Dropout. It also led to his meeting Alexis.

When Kanye accepted the Grammy for best rap album and best rap song, he said:

"If you have the opportunity to play this game called life, you have to appreciate every moment."

Amen. And congratulations.
